Unfortunately companies like this one who pay their staff pennies whilst taking large sums from families seeking childcare should be banned. As a qualified and professional nanny of 15 years working for minimum wage or just pence above is diabolical, it’s killing off the industry. Nannys need to have childcare qualifications, dbs checks, liability insurance and first aid qualifications, all of that comes at a cost to the nanny, none of this is factored in when offering a salary of £12.25 per hour. If you would like quality childcare at minimal prices, hire a childminder. This is extortion. Plus their vetting process is unreliable and in most cases not done properly and to a satisfactory standard. Be very wary if you’re planning on using this company.

Excellent self service app, good variety of candidates, strong processes and helpful customer support

Well I was told they don’t work with special needs children, non verbal / autistic children. which is fair, if they don’t work they don’t work! Funny I was referred by a mum who’s got a special needs child they said they have hired through Koru but I was told they don’t work with special needs children when I made a query. Probably a miscommunication by inexperienced staff ? Who knows!

Easy to use and takes care of everything. Made finding a nannyess stressful.

Totally out of the blue, Koru Kids rejected my application without giving any explanation.

I was working through the application this week, while juggling other responsibilities and contacting and waiting for the right references to apply for a higher pay tier.

Upon reading their help article, I couldn’t find any reasonable grounds for the rejection. I have a legal right to work and 1 year+ childcare experience, and one of my references has also been verified.

The only reason that could be remotely relevant was perhaps they thought that I have “put minimal effort into your application” because I couldn’t finish the whole application within 3 days.

The help article also advise against reaching to get feedback and said I couldn’t reapply within one year.

I am very disappointed and will suggest other people to not sign up unless they and their professional references have nothing else better to do.

Update on 19 Aug 2026:
Koru Kids have responded and implied that my CV, ID document and references were weak. I am not sure how they would have been able to judge that because I had not even uploaded my CV, ID or all of my references. It was apparent to me that they just assumed I wasn’t working through the application because they could not see much update within 3 days.

They could have located my profile based on my name and date of experience. I think they would rather take this feedback offsite because it would be easier to dismiss me again.

I will say i worked for a wonderful Family as a nanny through Koru kids but ive been treated awfully from a payroll side that i will never work for koru kids again!

First of all it took 2 months for koru kids to set up my pension and that was with me chasing them up and then pension payment amounts were incorrect. I had report twice for them to be corrected.

The icing on the cake: it took koru kids 7 months to feed all my payroll information to HMRC. If i hadnt of sent multiple emails, rung up and having advice from HMRC, i honestly dont think Koru kids would of sent any of my payroll information to HMRC.

I am aware that koru kids will say that there was a delay in receiving my PAYE number but again i had to ring HMRC to pass on a number for koru kids to ring to make sure my PAYE number was on the way and this is after my contract had finished.

Absolutely appalling payroll service and they even use AI to respond to long emails -ick!

Koru Kids has seamless recruitment process all the way from start (job advertisement) to final recruitment of selected candidate. Very interactive and helpful platform for fixing interviews and follow ups. Payrolls were handled such that I don’t have to stress about all the tax and etc at the end of each month.

I honestly wished I had know about Koru Kids way before now. Excellent service

We’ve hired a few after school nannies through Koru now, including the latest who was with us for nearly three years while she studied as a mature student at a local university, and she has been amazing. Not all the nannies are great, but Koru do a brilliant job of putting you in touch, but then, most importantly, handling ALL the paperwork so you are legally set up as an employer with HMRC, pensions, etc. keeping everything above board. Communication and support is excellent so they deal with any problems or concerns promptly and effectively.

I had a brilliant experience using Koru Kids to find after school care for my son for two afternoons a week. We met with two potentials and all agreed on the nanny we chose who lived nearby and just felt like the right fit. Our nanny couldn’t have been professional, warm and supportive. Homework, games, spelling prep, Lego! She does it all and my son has loved having such a stable constant presence in our home.

Loved working with my Koru Kids family. The children are so fun and our afternoons are filled with adventures.

I like working with koru kids because I am insured and always paid on time. The team is very supportive with all my questions.

I spent hours completing my application form and then reached the reference stage, where I received multiple emails requesting that I change my references because they did not meet the required criteria.

I complied with these requests and spent an amount of time and effort finding suitable references, which was both stressful and time-consuming. In total, this process took around a month and required a significant amount of time, effort, and stress on my part. After all of that, I received nothing more than an automated rejection email with no feedback or explanation whatsoever.

The entire process felt frustrating and poorly handled. It is disappointing to invest so much time and effort into an application, only to receive a generic rejection without any meaningful feedback. The job vacancies give applicants false hope that they may be considered for the role. Why ask for references if you are only going to reject them in the end? The process feels misleading and unnecessarily time consuming for applicants.

As first-time parents returning to work after parental leave, having reliable childcare support was incredibly important to us. Koru Kids was essential in helping us cover the three days each week when we didn't yet have nursery provision.

We have been so grateful for our nanny, who has been exceptional with our little boy. She is caring, dependable, and has made what could have been a stressful transition feel smooth and reassuring for our whole family.

We have found Koru Kids to be a easy website to use and liked them handling all the payroll and administrative aspects of the arrangement.

Waste of your money and time. The nannies are just random people from the street. Be aware and do checks yourselves very carefully. When I asked which checks koru kids does it was revealed that pretty much nothing, just talk to a couple of references on the phone, one of the references can be friend or family. The help service is highly unhelpful. We had nanny who suddenly started to pull sick leaves as soon as the change to sick pay came live. I reached out to the team multiple times asking how can we terminate her employment as she kept pulling sick leave last minute and they were highly unhelfpul, just kept sending me to ACAS website. It was never explained in all of these conversations what we would be eligible to pay nanny for all of these sick days. The system doesn't allow you to review sick days booked by nanny as well. You are just presented by the final bill. So be aware that your nanny can just indefinitely pull sick leave and you will eligible for 80% of her pay while receiving 0 child care. Koru Kids will be referring you to the ACAS website and will take no responsibility to sort this mess.

The team behind this company are racist and rude. I sent in a copy of my cv with my name and got no reply, I then sent in a copy of the exact same cv but with a different name and they replied saying they would love to work with me and want to invite me in for an interview... how distraught!!
Before doing this I had worked with one family for nine months and through them and they never communicated to the family how much they were paying me. Turns out they were charging the family £5 per hour more than they were paying me and neither I or the parents knew this for 9 months.
Whenever I ever emailed them about issues they would not help me. The family I worked with even told me they are a horrible agency. Both I and the family vowed to never use this agency again.

Not lucky initially but now our nanny is like having the support we needed. And would miss if she didn’t exist.

Very disappointing experience overall. Customer service was slow, unhelpful, and at times came across as rude and unprofessional. Communication lacked clarity, and when issues came up, I felt I was given very little explanation or support.
The platform also takes a significant percentage from nanny rates, which would perhaps be easier to accept if the overall service and communication were better managed.
I was also concerned by the quality and reliability of some of the job listings on the platform, and I didn’t feel there was enough responsibility taken when problems were raised.
Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend this service
