Great looking bike, you will get complimented, you will get the ‘that’s big for a 125’ & when it runs it’s not a bad ride (took mine Manchester to Liverpool & back, once).
But when I say, Im genuinely going to have to hand over a brand new bike to the next owner. It had to have a completely new engine put in within months of having it which was an ordeal cause the dealership wouldn’t accept liability but fortunately it was on warranty and Lexmoto gave a new engine but still cost me £350 in labour for what wasn’t my fault. As I write this I’m waiting on a lift because it’s rained pretty hard, this isn’t the first time this happened either, the minute this bike gets wet the electrics & spark plug decide they do not want to work. I’ve had to call AA too many times, I’ve had to call Dr.D’s mobile mechanic.
When I say I can’t get rid of this bike fast enough and how I’m at my wits end.
So, overall get it if you’re in a dry place and even then be careful about manufacturer quality.
Avoid at all costs
What can I say that is positive about the bike. Perhaps the colour red that I got it in. That’s where it stops. I have had nothing and I mean nothing but breakdown after breakdown. Parts breaking only months into ownership. I am now onto my 3rd …yes that’s right my 3rd battery. The original battery lasted all of 3 months. The rust that has appeared even though it’s been covered is unbelievable. The speedometer went after about 3 months too. Fuses have had to be changed more than once too. If there is a wisp of cold air, cold luck getting the bike to start. I regret getting the lexmoto aura. Also being quoted £600+ to be looked at and new tyres is just unacceptable. I’ve had to have the key fob batteries replaced. The list of things going wrong just keeps adding up everyday. Now the electrics aren’t working so I have had to park it up and not be able to use it. I’m so angry that a once promised good bike has become a death trap waiting to happen . Wish I could give it minus stars.
Lexmoto LXS poor parts availability
I am giving a mixed review to allow others to understand some of possible issues with owning a lexmoto LXS 125 euro 5. I bought the bike pre-owned with only 250 miles on clock but service history not up to date so no Lexmoto warranty. I understand this and bought the bike knowing it wouldn't be covered. The Lexmoto LXS is great in my opinion so far. Looks great and didn't break the bank to buy it. The bike has had no issues since I bought it however I needed to perform the first oil service in December.
I bought the service kit for CMPO and got to work. I then found the oil filter cover o ring slightly split. No problem I thought as this is just an o ring right? ...Wrong! I went to CMPO and found it out of stock. I asked CMPO how long it would be and was told 6 week! I ended up cobbling something together and it's now back on the road. I can't believe I would be expected to have the bike off road for such a simple component. I checked again yesterday Jan 19th and was told it would be another six weeks. 12 weeks for a rubber o ring seriously. Looks like I'll have to come up with another solution if still not in stock by the next scheduled service.
I also had the unfortunate experience of dropping the bike. No real damage but I'm concerned that I may need handlebars in the future but I can see they have been out of stock for weeks and was told would be six more weeks. This is terrible for a component that is commonly damaged by new riders. Lexmoto are aimed at new riders, right? I am now paranoid about any issues with the bike in the future if there's no parts available. Lexmoto the lack of stock is commonly mentioned on forums and Facebook and really needs addressing. To end on a positive note the Lexmoto customer service was quick and polite and I love the bike but will think twice about buying Lexmoto in the future.
Stay well clear of buying lexmotto
I have had my lxr 125 euro 5 for almost 2 years now and I can honestly say to stay well clear of lexmotto completely, the troubles I have had with the bike is just appalling, break downs up to almost 20 times due to when it rains it turns off due to getting moisture problems 🤦♂️ and good luck getting ANY warrenty work done due to garage's saying they don't want to do the work because they don't get paid enough by lexmotto to do the job 🤦♂️ this has been such a stressful experience and I really do regret buying a lexmotto, I shouldn't have to go through such inconvenience.
I wouldn't even give one star.
Be very careful buying a Lexmoto they…
Be very careful buying a Lexmoto they are cheap for a reason don’t get sucked in by the looks. I had an LXR 125 brand new had nothing but issues with it. Main issue it’s made with cheap parts that can’t cope. Think seriously before you buy I had to sell mine after 11 months at a loss. Bought an Italian Bike more expensive but not had anything go wrong. Lexmoto you need to up your game
Lexmoto Aura
DO NOT BUY. I have Lexmoto Aura with PROBLEMS all the time even when was brand new.now when is cold, the engine don't start at all.I had to buy new parts few times but some times waited for so many weeks because out of stock.because is cold outside evening or night time don't start.only day time when is a bit sun but only with emergency start.remote controlers are bad,the butons don't work after first few months even if have new batteries.called too many times recovery or pushed back home for a long distance and was late where i had to be.was let me down on streets too many times.before when was rain, the engine died every few minutes when i stop on trafic light.the scooter always is covered home with a thick car cover. I need hours to write here all the problems i had.even the guys on service when i go they said: don't buy this again.now when engine start only day time or when not cold weather outside i drive only few minutes, short distances because always have problems and i don't know if can arrive back to my destination.lost waranty because i did first service on miles and dealer said on book is kilometers.always stress, anger, waste of time and money to fix.he let me down again in middle of the road, this time the engine just died in time when was driving with 70% full tank petrol.i had to put brakes to stop.now i have to call and to pay for recovery from street home and from home to near service(now closed) because i called too many times with problems.
Bought a brand new lxr euro 5 because…
Bought a brand new lxr euro 5 because it looked nice within the first month the screen cut out then the indicators then the lights, got that repaired under warranty then the gearbox locked up and the bike threw me into oncoming traffic, once I got a new engine under warranty no dealer would take the bike part exchange few weeks later the battery failed, then the rectifier failed then the forks starting leaking oil and the front brakes wouldn't work being covered in oil, after that the bike has been cutting out randomly and now the paint on the tank has starting to come off all this is in the space of 2 years and only 5000 miles, I wouldn't dream of touching another lexmoto and would advise anyone who cares about there life doesn't get one of these death traps either.
Rubbish 1 year old bike sat at dealers…
Rubbish 1 year old bike sat at dealers for over 3 weeks now with no update.had to buy a yamaha jog r 2008 much better quality over 14 years old still going strong.
No Confidence In Warranty, Lexmoto or Dealer
I'd had an issue with my bike (LXS 125) not starting after being caught out in the rain. The bike is all serviced correctly in the line with Lexmoto's service schedule. The dealer confirmed there was an issue due to water around the spark plug / cap and repaired the issue prior to letting me know the cost. I was then hit with a £100 bill for the repair. I asked about why this wasn't covered by warranty and was advised "I've tried with Lexmoto in the past and they write it off as, mother nature" (text messages to prove this was a genuine reply - Man who sued god anyone?)
I jumped through all of Lexmoto support hoops to try and get a clear answer only to be told, because the dealer never raised it with Lexmoto it never happened!?
Well, Lexmoto, I can tell you from the video I have of the bike not starting, the receipt from dealer saying the same, that this DID happen.
When I spoke with Lexmoto support rep on the phone, they were straight to a defensive attitude almost arguing with me, something I had to ask the rep to take a step back on. After 20 minutes of back and forth about the whole ordeal, the rep then attempted to pick holes in my service schedule saying I hadn't had a service in a year? They said because the services were carried out in 2019 (according to their website - something the dealer adds).. when the LXS (my bike) was registered in 2022? I'd sent them a physical copy of my service schedule within the same support request?
The final answer I got from them was, it never happened! So short of sticking the dealer on the phone myself, which by the way they openly admitted to not even speak to directly to ask what had happened, I'm left out of pocket.
I have zero confidence in Lexmoto, the warranty, support and the dealer. In fact, the support rep advised "there are other dealers I can go to" throwing their dealer under the bus!
It's safe to say, I will be going to a different dealer now, recording via video every single thing that happens with the bike. Lexmoto, I am happy to discuss this and change this review should a deeper and further investigation be carried out as to what has exactly happened and a review of your dealers conduct when handling your brands image (your products / vehicles).
Lexmoto after sales care
Where to start? Knights motorcycles/searings in Braintree, after 30yrs off bikes I went to the dealer above and asked the usual annoying questions, are Chinese bike any good/reliable, or as bad as everyone says, dave was very patient with my questions and I ended up with a lexmoto michigan on a 22 plate all shiny and new, didn't i feel stupid! That little 125 got me to Scotland and back twice ,that's without counting all the miles I did in the worst of British weather, the service I got from this dealer puts everyone else to shame.
I traded it in today for a wonderful lxr 125 se,the amazing thing with this deal I ordered yesterday it arrived this morning and was ready by 3pm,lexmoto dealerships bend over backwards to help, sort out questions and cater to people that believe Chinese bikes are rubbish,
I am so impressed with not only the dealers ethics but I can't fault the product, and because of that I brought my daughter her very first moped and it wax the 50cc echo ,a fool and his money are easily parted I'm no fool .....my lxr se is better equipped than most of its rivals for a fraction of the cost,
Would I recommend lexmoto...definitely yes if the othe lexmoto dealers are half as helpful as the one in Braintree then the competition has serious problems,
Lexmoto you guys sell a amazing product I'll be a regular customer and so will the rest of my family thanks
Not even going to try one
The reviews are clear lexmoto bikes are junk on all levels and it looks like spares snd back up are a mojor problems. Talking tk another dealer last week sounds like lexmoto only has 2.5 million worth of UK stock and they are not letting distributors swop bikes for supply and demand so again sounds like poor management going on.
The reviews sealed the deal I will not be buying one for my lad. sorry lexmoto but best is for you to up your game and services 10 fold
My second purchase 👍🏼👌🏼
This is my second new bike, I have purchased from LexMoto .
So I think this demonstrates my trust and confidence in LexMoto.
My first bike was the Apollo, and now I went for the XDV 125cc and I’ve not been disappointed to me it looks like lemoto have taken a very Modern and updated direction .
Very happy so far taking it slowly to let the engine break in period and looking forward to some long distance journeys down to the coast .
And i should mention simon from SBK bikes in woking who sold me the bike very helpfull
