Poor communication
I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Lyons Davidson to date. Since instructing them on a personal injury claim some months ago, communication has been very poor. After an initial period of activity, updates have been almost non-existent.
The customer portal promises a response from your Claims Agent within five working days, but this commitment has not been met. Repeated requests for updates have gone unanswered, leaving me uncertain about the progress of my case.
Looking back, had I taken more notice of the many negative reviews regarding communication and customer service, I would have chosen another firm. I will update this review if matters improve, but at present I cannot recommend their service.

When I Needed Them Most — Exceptional Support, Compassion and Expertise
I cannot recommend Philippa Morgan and her paralegal, Eleanor, highly enough.
My children law and domestic abuse case began on 17 April 2024, and I represented myself as a litigant in person until April 2026, when the complexity and volume of the paperwork became impossible to manage alone.
That was when Philippa and Eleanor came into my life honestly, it felt as though these two ladies had landed for me from heaven. Philippa took over the complex proceedings, including allegations of child abduction, and worked tirelessly to ensure the Court understood the abuse and the incredibly difficult circumstances behind my decisions.
Eleanor handled the huge amount of paperwork with exceptional organisation, patience and attention to detail. She is an angel, focused and determined:)
After carrying everything myself for two years, having them step in was an enormous relief. Their compassion, professionalism and dedication meant more to me than I can put into words.

Very bad service! Poor representation legal expenses

Have home insurance with Allianz. Made a claim for legal expenses. These were the solicitors on the legal expenses insurers panel.
They are meant to support you in the event of a legal expenses claim. Instead they were looking for a way to refuse my claim and did so unfairly. As a result I have lost valuable time where my matter should have been dealt with but has not been. As a result I will suffer financially.
Even though Lyons Davidson are a regulated law firm, its very bad practice for them to refuse my claim just because it does not suit them financially to fight my issue. They refused my claim citing that it's not covered under my policy. However, it is not their call to do that.
I would not recommend them at all!

While I appreciate that it is disappointing that we were unable to assist you I am satisfied that the reason for this was as explained to you i.e. that your legal expense policy does not provide cover for the type of claim that you wish to bring and they will therefore not provide funding for our costs to pursue the matter.
Any concerns that you have regarding the policy should be directed to your legal expense insurer.

awful and incompetent
was provided with legal consultancy through my home insurance and my case was given to Lyons Davidson. unfortunately they were quite useless. the person i was in contact with did not answer email promptly and then eventually started ghosting me. he didn't understand the case properly because in some emails that he bothered to send made reference to irrelevant details. extremely poor service and worse member of staff.

Having reviewed your file I note that you discussed your concerns regarding our service and the advice that you had received with one of our senior solicitors during November 2025 who repeated our advice from earlier in 2025 i.e. that the claim that you wished to bring was not covered by your legal expense insurer and we were therefore unable to pursue the matter.

Absolutely clueless
They weren't interested in my case at all. I laid out all the information correctly and they told me I had a less than 10% chance of winning. I ended up walking away with a huge settlement with no help from them and their advice was completely wrong and incorrect. Literally use any other solicitor

Our role as legal advisors is to provide our clients with our reasonable assessment of the legal merits of their claim by applying the relevant legal tests to the facts of the case, and this means that regrettably we cannot always give our clients the positive advice they want to hear.
Turning to the outcome, we did not advise that your claim was bound to fail or had a 0% chance of success, rather we provided our professional opinion that it was more likely than not the claim would not succeed.
As you may recall, we did advise you at the time that you had the option of continuing with the claim yourself, which we note you did. We are pleased to hear that you went on to obtain a positive outcome in the matter.

Thank you for your response, which is now public.
This response, which you will need to stand by, will be shared as part of my escalation to both the Complaints Partner and your UK MD to clearly show (1) how my complaint has been completely ignored, and (2) how my claim has been dismissed as a result of numerous internal errors, incorrect records and appalling customer service.

Having been exploited by a fraudulent builder, I reached out to understand my home legal expenses cover.
My first call with my case handler started with 'you have no policy', and 'you have no cover'. My policy has been in place for more than 5 years, and the home legal expenses cover in place for over three years.
Not one question, nor any attempt at understanding the details that have emerged in May 2026.
I have stayed calm throughout, dealing with aggressive legal staff, having the phone put down on me, from repeated promises of 'someone will be in contact', to absolutely no response from the claims team supervisor nor the claims team group leader.
Simply no customer focus at all and no contact in over four weeks. Do not expect any customer focus when dealing with Lyons Davidson, nor any empathy, or any attempt at an apology, nor anything the least bit humane.
I am not sure who is worse, the fraudulent builder or Lyons Davidson.
