I've been sitting in the dark for…

I've been sitting in the dark for hours because it's a bit windy. Wrong kind of wind I expect. National Grid far too busy to talk on the 'phone with a consumer so I am repeatedly cut off from the (so called) customer services 'phone line. Web site says they are working hard to fix a non-descript fault. Might it be possible for you to provide a little temporary lighting (candles?) Even Bristol water managed to come round with a few bottles of water when they decided that providing running tap water was way too hard.

8 months of hell …

8 months trying to get a new supply fitted and just at the final hurdle after agreeing to do all the work right up to the post my self they stopped it? 8 months of hell for nothing the person we was trying to help could not move in and died before getting the chance I cant say in words what i really want to put on here

Missing in action

We have been desperately trying to get a new electricity supply to our Annex without any success. Contact has been made with National Grid, we had someone come to inspect how we could potentially get the supply either by an underground cable or potentially another pole. Despite chasing for an answer we are now one month on from the visit which was also delayed many weeks from before and nothing. I said we may have to go to oil instead and it seemed the individual that came was not concerned about this despite the fact in theory it takes business away from National Grid. I am not stuck as to what to do with no answers - how difficult is it to get anything done now? This has been going on months and I am completely frustrated!!!

Brilliant

What a wonderful, helpful company. I was told we needed to have our electricity lines sheathed. I called, the phone was answered immediately. The guy visited the same day to assess and they returned the following day to complete the work. All the staff were super helpful. Great customer service is so rare these days that I was quite taken aback by how genuinely helpful and efficient everyone was at the National Grid.

no idea what is going on

about 1.5 months ago, i was getting calls from Nat Grid's subcontractor about getting my smart meter. as of now, it still has not been replaced. i called the subcontractor to find out specifically when, and they said they don't have a schedule - just whenever they do it. WOW!! anyway, i called the subcontractor again only to be hung up on 3 times, so i called Nat Grid. even they have no idea when it will be done. is that anyway to run a business?? so, while speaking with a NG rep, they said that they had theirs installed months ago and the neighbors are just now getting theirs. would it not be more advantageous to do a street/ block/ area at a time rather than helter-skelter? it seems that they 'draw names/ addresses out of a hat' to do the jobs. AGAIN, WOW!!! it is hard to put faith in a business that has no clue as to how to schedule or plan. they tell us the meters are free. i then read an article that states that NG is thinking of raising the rates Again. so i guess they are not free after all.

Made a phone call to confirm still…

Made a phone call to confirm still wanted to be on priority register. Surprised an actual representative answered the phone not only were they polite and friendly but also offered information of other help I might need.

Earlier this week our electricity…

Earlier this week our electricity supply was disconnected at around lunch time. We soon found out that this was the case for all houses in our road. However, what was truly marvellous was that, within five minutes of the electricity going off, I received a phone call from the National Grid. You see I have a few chronic health conditions and quite a while ago British Gas/Electric took note of my inabilities.
So a really nice gentleman from the Grid, rang me and reassured me that electricity would be restored very soon. Just after we were restored to electricity, another person from the Grid rang me to check that I had managed without any problems throughout the power cut
The National Grids attention to detail and caring enough to check on me twice really meant a lot to me, and was, indeed, a really pleasant, reassuring action on their part.
Thank you National Grid for Electricity in England.

National Grid are making complete fools…

National Grid are making complete fools of themselves by continuing with their proposal to blight Lincolnshire with 80 miles of massive 50 metre high pylons which will destroy property prices and likely cause stress and other health issues to residents.
They clearly lack the common sense required to make responsible proposals. Cables should be laid underground as being done in other parts of the UK. Lincolnshire is not a dumping ground!

Tree Care Nation / Tree Care of New York : a hiring mistake

This is in regard to the company that National Grid uses to trim trees, Tree Care Nation / Tree Care of New York in Alden, New York.

As I experienced first-hand today, the contractor's personnel don't know how to trim trees. Hacking is not trimming. Tree Care Nation / Tree Care of New York even hacked a tree whose branches were more than 20' from any utility lines.

Tree Care Nation / Tree Care of New York is the very worst company that National Grid has ever used to trim trees.

National Grid, please find a better contractor. Thanks.

Brilliant service from National Grid

Called National Grid when our lights started flickering. Alistair arrived within half an hour, told us situation was dangerous because of voltage surge, so he had to take our power off. Within the hour there was a team outside digging up, they worked fantastically in the extreme cold, and we had power on by 2.30am. Next day our house wiring was completely checked over for safety. Brilliant service, thanks to all

Have contacted to relocate my fuse…

Have contacted to relocate my fuse board from hallway to back wall under 1 miter. They send someone for a quote. And asked for £860 pound
This is ridiculous amount of money to steal from people’s pockets. This old fuse box not been changed since 1970s

We are so impressed by National Grid…

We are so impressed by National Grid who worked for 2 days to restore our power. They responded speedily, worked in muddy fields in adverse weather until past midnight to identify and rectify the fault. Shout out for Mark and Jay from Doocey who operated the digger and are now putting everything back very neatly. Thank you to National Grid we are very grateful for sorting us out.

Western Distributions were more than happy to find the fault to my electric supply problem. Straight to the point and no messing about.
Good work men, who know what they are doing and seem to work great in a team!. The online chat services, Rod was smooth, straight to the point which I like very much :).

Thankyou to national grid for the help…

Thankyou to national grid for the help and support we received after an electrical issue at our property.
From the call to the very first guy to arrive, followed by the team that came out late on Saturday eve to complete emergency work.
To the team that followed up with reinstating all the groundwork.
Wow! What a team!
They were all amazing, supportive, polite, efficient, and completed the work immediately and respectfully.
They do not get the credit they deserve at times but I want them all to know that they were amazing.
Thankyou each and everyone of them.
