I gave a one star review due to badly damaged nest of tables on a basic delivery (had to unpack them myself)
I rang customer services and they arranged for a replacement right away with an upgraded delivery free of charge
Very satisfied with the result

Got a Seattle tv unit. Look nice and love the fact that it doesn’t have any fancy drawer rails but just old school wood on wood. Good price in comparison to all the other options of cardboard furniture around. Shipping took longer than initially stated- but halfway expected this with it being shipped from China. Comms were fast and always nice and polite people.

Ordered a Hutch Dresser and it arrived within a week of purchase, amazing service, I just love my new purchase, is beautiful quality furniture. Would definitely use Oak Furniture Co (Auckland, NZ) again.

AVOID. I ordered items that were due in September 25. I still don’t have them. After follow up after follow up, stories changing from a delay because “in between warehouses” to “your items MAY have water damage, we will let you know”, to still not being to tell me if they have water damage or not. Promised delivery dates and nothing. Now all reply emails have offers of refunds or I can “continue to wait” to find out if my items have water damage. Completely broken trust. You can’t call them as they don’t have a number. Only emails. The worst customer service I have EVER received.
Not from NZ, all stock is ex china. I live in SE QLD, Australia.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered a sofa from Oak Furniture that was supposed to be delivered within 2 months, but after 4 long months of waiting, endless follow-ups, and empty promises, I was finally told “if you like, you can cancel your order.”

No apology, no ownership, no compensation, just a cold, dismissive tone from their staff who said the delay was because they’re “relocating” and it’s apparently the Australian warehouse’s fault. They even admitted there’s no way for customers to contact the warehouse directly.

After months of patience and chasing, I was met with complete indifference. Oak Furniture clearly has no respect for customers’ time or trust. I’ll never buy from them again and strongly advise others to look elsewhere unless you enjoy paying upfront and waiting half a year with zero accountability.

I would never deal with this company again!
Ordered and paid for a container of furniture restore. They accepted the order, knowing they had no stock.
Requested a refund 3 weeks. Ago. Not yet received and they keep fobbing me off.

Oak Furniture used to be good in terms of product quality, but not anymore. Be careful if you consider purchasing their products! Their products emit strange smell, it can be strong if they are kept in a room with windows and doors shut.
I have ever bought a dining table and a hall table from them. The total spending was over $6000 with them. Both items were very good in quality. Due to the good expression with them I bought another item, a Windham Bed of king size and got delivered in early March 2025. However, the bed slates emit pine terpenes smell. The bed frame emits strange paint smell as well. If my bedroom windows and door keep shut at night I can feel very strong smell in the morning. Since delivery date in early March I have not been able to use my main bedroom upstairs and I have to sleep in my bedroom downstairs. I put all the bed slates in my garage. The bed frame has to stay in my bedroom upstairs. I kept the bedroom Windows open day and night. I can now still feel a strange paint smell in the morning if I shut the windows and door overnight.
A couple of weeks ago, I manage to have got a sale representative Patrick to come my house. He did not follow my instruction to give me one day notice. I wanted to keep windows shut overnight before he arrive. However, he arrived on a day when my bedroom windows open. I am sure he could feel a smell (it may not that strong due to the windows open day and night before). He did not accept the fact the bed emit smell. He said other customers did not have that problem. I do not believe that. I swear what I said is true and the bed smells indeed! I got my brand new mattress waiting to be used for a long time. There is no reason for me to accept it if the bed frame is normal.
Oak Furniture did not accept their responsibility and the paint smell will put me at health risk. I cannot sleep with my bedroom windows open all the time. I have to log a case with NSW Fair Trading soon.

If I could give no stars I would. This company is nothing short of a scam. Do not touch them!!! They are impossible to get hold. I have tried to cancel my order so many times, they confirmed that they will cancel, then they advise me they are shipping my canceled order. You can never get hold of any one over the phone. I have sent 8 emails,confirming my request to cancel. They are scam artists!!

The bedroom set looks ok from a distance but quality isn’t great. Was missing some of the screws and assembly bits and they pass themselves off as NZ made but furniture is all made in China and the quality shows. Deeply regret not returning the entire set and wasn’t worth the cost vs quality

These guys are dodgy, Id previously written a review on one of their products that theyd changed after submission.

Absolutely appalled with the conduct of Oak Furinture, we recently purchased coffee table to replace our old one for safty as we've recently had a newborn.
The table was a two part inner and outer table, which unfortunately had too much of a discrepancy between the pieces to give it a stable surface, putting out young child at risk of pulling the table, or anything placed on the table ontop of themselves,
When we contacted Oak they immediately disregarded our concerns and reluctant to offer a full refund without a absurd collection fee, regardless of the fact they requested us to return the product ourselfs.
If they had handled the refund with grace we would've happily considered purchasing another table from them, but this has left a bitter taste in our mouths.
We can not recommend purchasing anything form this company.

This coffee table is absolutely beautiful at Oak Furniture Store, we recently purchased coffee table to replace our old one. The table comes in two parts, it is very convenient to move them around in different position around our sofa. The stone surface top is water and heat resistant, we would never going to worry about the water and hot cup damage again.

Service is absolutely disgusting. The audacity of the worker to call his morning 'interesting' because your customers came in store to ask about an exchange for furniture. All i want to ask is how is it 'interesting'? I think it's rather interesting that this store does not train its workers on customer service!
First off, theres a clear language barrier so of course it was hard to convey what was needed to be done in the situation. However, your customers are your customers. They DID NOT go into your store and 'demand' for anything. There was no 'DEMANDING'!
Second of all, do your staff have no manners? Just because your customers couldn't speak english properly, doesn't give your staff the right to complain about his customers in front of them! 'oh i had interesting morning', 'they just came in and demanded', 'they can't just come in here yelling'. They were not yelling at YOU! the clear language barrier and cultural differences has caused a conflict in interest, but that DOES NOT mean your staff can treat its customers like this.
Lastly, I just want to say, if your customers are unaware of a situation and also isn't able to very effectively explain to you what they want, the least you can do is have the patience and positive attitude to help them. That is customer service. That is what this store needs.

Avoid avoid avoid This company unfortunately was dishonest with us from the start, guaranteeing furniture would be with us by a certain date, various dates were promised along the way. Requiring constant chasing Promising delivery, we took days off work to wait in for it. Did not arrive ... phone call after phone call and we were then told it had been broken in transit and the remaining items were delayed again by 2 weeks. In the end after so much stress and poor communication and appalling customer service we cancelled the order

Terrible delivery policy and general organisation is lacking. Do not expect them to phone or email you with a delivery slot be prepared for them to turn up completely unannounced with your furniture. Regards as to whether they have your correct contact details! Furniture was good and am pleased with it.

A special thank you to Harry and Jack for the wonderful services they provided. Having made a mistake and ordered a table to large they sorted everything out for me helped me to select another table, changed the seat pads gor another colour whilst displaying a very professional attitude at all times. The delivery guys were also excellent. In fact everyone we spoke with was so helpful. Well done guys your help was very much appreciated. Linda Hopkins

Just love my four chest of drawers in Pacific Ash . So lovely to have solid pieces of furniture, beautifully made and finished, rather than the usual thin veneer on other Ash wood pieces of furniture I have had over the years. I know this will last. Sad to see you no longer doing any ash wood, you were the only company I could find which stocked solid Ash wood.
