​If you are considering paying extra for Pets4Homes’ "Pet Payments with Pet Protection" or relying on their advertised Health Guarantee, please be aware of how claims are handled when a pet falls critically ill.

​Pets4Homes markets their Health Guarantee as covering "critical illness" and "terminal illness" within 6 months of collection.

However, when my kitten was hospitalised at four months old and suffered a catastrophic collapse, Pets4Homes refused to honor the guarantee, despite treating referral specialists explicitly diagnosing viral sepsis and confirming in writing that FIP was never confirmed, leaving it strictly as an unconfirmed suspicion alongside other open differentials like a congenital liver shunt.

​Key issues that senior leadership and prospective buyers need to be aware of:

Multiple treating veterinary specialists at my local veterinary hospital and a specialist referral center explicitly documented in writing that FIP was never 100% confirmed. The treating specialists specifically raised potential congenital conditions, such as a portosystemic liver shunt, as an active differential diagnosis. Pets4Homes Trust and Safety representatives overruled the treating specialists, treating an unconfirmed suspicion as a proven fact solely to enforce an exclusion clause. ​

Full clinical notes were provided, and I informed them I had official vaccination/medical records showing a clear failure to gain weight. Pets4Homes completely ignored this evidence. ​

Pets4Homes refused to take responsibility under their payment escrow scheme. They admitted that the seller operated duplicate accounts on their platform. By blocking the seller's primary account post sale, Pets4Homes directly suppressed my ability to leave a public review on the original advert, while allowing the seller to remain active on a secondary account.

When I informed Pets4Homes that I would be exercising my statutory right to raise a card chargeback for their failure to deliver the advertised escrow and protection service, their Trust & Safety Lead explicitly threatened legal retaliation, stating they would attempt to recover the disputed funds and associated costs from me through Small Claims Court if my bank rules in my favor.

​I request that senior management review this deadlock decision, acknowledge the unconfirmed diagnostic status documented by treating specialists and address these improper intimidation tactics.

Pets4Homes senior management already has my complete case file, formal deadlock notice and specialist veterinary records from Bristol Vet Specialists proving FIP was never confirmed. I have emailed support as requested. However, as Pets4Homes officially declared our internal dispute deadlocked and threatened legal action regarding my statutory bank chargeback, this matter remains fully escalated with my payment provider.

I found pets4homes a very positive experience and I now have my new baby a beautiful little girl chihuahua very easy and useful site in which to find your new best friend 🐕😁

Recently bought through the website a golden retriever puppy. This was well organised throughout the process and throughout kept well informed. Viewing arrangements and payments well processed. Only downside with the payments was that the additional £150 added to the breeders costs for pets4home, the breeder was not aware of the additional charge. Otherwise all is well and the puppy (Chopan) settling in ok with my other two goldies of 14 and 9 years

Always very helpful with orders. I place my orders on line for collection at Bridlington store. The staff there are great. Even when things have gone wrong with delivery, which is rare, the staff have always supplied an alternative to keep me going.

Your website was easy to access with lots of beautiful dogs. Am still trying to make up my mind. I love dogs and have been the proud owner of quite a number of dogs in the last 58 years.

I was apprehensive using this site due to too many ‘unknowns’ but as I had no success with various rescues I did browse and eventually found a litter that appealed. The communication with the breeder was very straightforward and I was able to set up a viewing easily. After selecting a pup I was kept fully informed about its progress, vaccination, microchip and feeding. Payment through Pets4homes was secure and not released until confirmation of full adoption of pup. I would have no hesitation in recommending others to try this site.

I am deeply disappointed with this forum. Firstly I paid a deposit for a kitten and then the sellers account was blocked so I had no way of contacting them or getting to the cause of the issue. After contacting the support team they told me the other person may just need to verify some personal details but no context on what to do further. Do I just wait or keep looking for a kitten elsewhere and is my deposit just lost. Then my issues got worse. After contacting another lady about another kitten viewing I have been unable to access my account. I have been blocked through the app and browser showing error 406 and I cannot do anything to fix it. What was supposed to be a very exciting time looking for a new member of our little family has been made into am extremely stressful and frustrating experience.

This is a brilliant site that gives you an amazing selection on the varieties of pets you could have.
We also love that as much as possible, the backgrounds of the breeders are checked ensuring that both parents and their babies are from loving and safe homes. Thus giving the youngsters the best start in lives, before going to their loving forever homes. This is the most important thing for us, as when you meet the, in our case puppies, your heart mostly rules your head and the "awww I want them all" factor takes over. So great site, thank you x

Through pets at home i found a lovely little shuzi puppy. They advised me about questions to ask about her made sure I saw mother and other pups. Also that she has vaccinations and was chipped.
