Very disappointed experience despite paying for protection .
We chose to buy our puppy through Pets4homes because we believed using an established platform and paying the additional £ 140 buyer protection /mediation fee would help avoid the very situation we now find ourselves in, The puppy was advertised as KC registered, vet health checked, wormed, flea treated and microchipped. We paid £ 300 deposit and £ 900 balance on collection, We were happy to go ahead with the purchase, believing that the £140 buyer protection would provide support if something went wrong, including if the promised paperwork did not arrive. We were promised the KC paperwork and transfer of the microchip details. The puppy was microchipped, but our vet could not establish which company/database the chip was registered with. The breeder stopped responding the following day, and over three weeks later we still have no KC paperwork or confirmed microchip registration. We reported everything to Pets4homes Trust and Safety . They told us the breeders advert was placed on hold until she responded and provided the paperwork . That was over a week ago ,and we have heard nothing further. We paid £ 140 protection/mediation fee because we believed it would provide, support if something went wrong. Unfortunately, we now feel left to deal with the situation ourselves.

These are really lovely people to deal with, friendly and helpful. We are looking for another Bichon Frise ( not a puppy, not an old Bichon, not a mixed breed Bichon and it must be a girl Bichon. Our Bichon “Kyla” died recently ( she had Cushings disease with old age - she was approx 13 - 14 years old when she died. Our house is just not the same. Bichons are such lovely dogs - we miss her so much. Fingers crossed we will buy another girl Bichon soonish. Thank you.

We had a great experience with Pets4Homes. Payment was safe guarded and released once our puppy was handed over and we pressed the button to do so ourselves when we had picked her up. We were grateful for the five weeks insurance cover as an extra bonus. The website is really easy to navigate and is quick to load. We were able to message sellers directly with questions and to make arrangements. Recommended as a good way to contact breeders but keep a third party in place in case of problems. The seller we dealt with was fantastic too.

Absolutely amazing experience I had buy our new dog I like the fact that all the sellers are verified and pets4home hold the money until you are completely satisfied with your new pet on collection also for a small fee you get free health insurance would highly recommend buying this way over the moon with the easy process of buying

appears to be fraudulent and should be investigated immediately.

The person advertising the dog provided a false address for the viewing and requested a deposit that is apparently non-refundable. They also asked users to provide their WhatsApp numbers and then sent messages regarding the dog.

I spent approximately four hours travelling to the address provided with my 2 little kids (which were devastated to find out that it was a scam), only to find that the person did not live there. A neighbour confirmed that nobody by that name lived at the address and that there were no dogs there.

This situation raises serious concerns about the way your platform's deposit rules are being used to facilitate potential scams. Your policies appear to allow people to request deposits from users and then disappear without providing the advertised service.

I strongly request that you investigate this advert, the person behind it, and any related accounts or listings. If your platform continues to allow this type of activity, it risks enabling and supporting fraudulent behaviour rather than protecting users.

Please take appropriate action and let me know what steps you will take regarding this complaint.

Collects detailed information about the buyers that can help you to decide whether that's the right home for the pet you want to re-home. I also like the idea of payment protection where you get a deposit and full pay on collection as it stops people wasting your time by saying they're coming and not showing up. Would recommend using this service to anyone looking for a platform to re-home their furry friends!!

Sellers not responding to follow up messages. I arranged to buy a kitten and then she sold it to someone else. I had already paid the admin fee and had paid in full. Getting my money back is such a pain. They made every excuse not to pay me back, so I threatened legal action. Now I am awaiting my refund. They say it could take another 10 days to return. This is after I have waited for a week for them to respond.
I'm on round 2 of trying to buy a pet now.ets see how that goes.

I looked at a few websites that were advertising Leopard Geckos for rehoming, and Pets4Homes is by far the best and the only one I’d probably trust to get a pet from. Website is well presented and easy to navigate, the mostly-functional app is also a bonus. Their adoption process is thorough but also simple. It was easy to communicate with the owner of the leopard gecko I was adopting, as well as make a secure payment and arrange a collection day. A smooth experience with the result of a new family member 😊
