I booked this hotel for me and my friend because it was 4 stars. We wanted a luxury get away and were severely disappointed the longer we stayed.
On our second day there, we asked reception for complimentary slippers and robes as they were not left in our rooms. We were also told that our rooms would be cleaned and restocked daily, however we had to walk back down to reception to ask again. We never received the slipper, robes, coffee and tea. My shower was broken and leaked water from the seals. My friend had a long black hairs in her shower (she has pink hair) and the wallpaper in her room was peeling off the walls. There were ants coming into both of our rooms (we were on the third/top floor) and my patio area was filthy and covered with grit. I had the most luxurious TV in my room but it had no internet connection, no instructions on how to use it, no apps and everything was in Italian. After we let them know what was happening in the rooms and in the bar, the service just got worse, with only three days and three nights left, we both decided to give up and spend all of our time outdoors. As a 4 star hotel, we expected much much better.
On our first day, there was a lovely bar man who provided a wonderful service and offered us complimentary snacks. The next day there was a different bar man who had a horrible attitude towards us and he charged us woefully more than the previous bar man for the same thing! When bringing out complimentary snacks, a new staff lady was on and she gave us food with meat in so we had to unfortunately decline as we are both vegetarian. The previous bar man knew and was super courteous and professional. As soon as the grumpy bar man came on shift, the new lady’s demeanour immediately changed, he must have said something about us. Sitting close by us was the head chef and after hearing us decline the meat treats, he went over to the bar man. I could not understand all of the conversation but he made enquiries as to if he knew we were vegetarian, all he did was shrug in a careless manner! We were never given complimentary snacks again other than crisps and nuts while others were given mini pizzas, pastries and sandwiches. Awful service, awful atmosphere when you’re staying somewhere that is over £200 per night. If we hadn’t paid in full, we would have left after the first night. Shortly afterwards, we felt so unwelcome and we left and ordered food somewhere outside the hotel, we ate out every night. We even started buying our own wine to the room because of how uncomfortable we felt. To say the service is so poor for a four star establishment is a huge understatement, I strongly suggest you spend your money elsewhere. I have had a far superior service in a B&B in Blackpool than here! Sea view is minimal because of angle of hotel and you had to get a shuttle or a metro train to everywhere, nothing was at walking distance. However, the shuttle drivers were incredible, especially Antonio and Zara on reception. Normally I would leave gifts and tips for the cleaners and staff, but unfortunately couldn’t leave anything.
