I hired Ruby Moves for an international move. My shipment was picked up on April 9, to be loaded onto the ship on April 12. However, the vessel only left on April 27 without communication from Ruby moves. I was issued a billing invoice on April 27 for the full amount due. Upon receipt of the container number, I was unable to track the shipment. I contacted Ruby Moves May 8 asking for proper tracking information. I received a response stating that they would contact the steamship and get back to me on the same day. I did not receive a response until I followed up on May 15, in which Ruby Moves said that tracking was working on their end. I was still unable to track the shipment with the information provided and communicated that to Ruby Moves. I was not provided a screenshot or any proof of shipment. I was also not provided with the name of the receiving moving company in the other country, even though I asked several times through email. On May 28, Ruby Moves began direct debiting my bank account in transactions of $1000, totaling $4000 before they were locked out. In a panic, I paid the full agreed-upon amount, but was also assessed a 5% late fee. In no billing or terms and conditions or invoices was a 5% late fee stated and I did not pay it. I requested clarification about where and when I was notified of any late fees. Ruby Moves referred back to the terms and conditions which stated: "Final balance must be paid within 72 hours of invoice receipt. Any and all charges and delays due to nonpayment, will be the responsibility of the shipper and must be paid prior to release of shipment. If necessary, RIC will place a lien on the property until payment for all services are received in full. Final payment is required by wire transfer. Credit cards are not accepted..." I needed to file a fraud report to get the $4000 reversed after paying the agreed-upon amount, and getting confirmation from Ruby Moves on May 29 that it was received. I did ask that the charges be reversed, but was ignored in my email request. My bank stated on May 30 that no attempts at a reversal were made by Ruby. On June 3, the charges were reversed with bank intervention.
There are several red flags with this company: my shipment was supposed to arrive to the destination in 4-6 weeks. That's the reason I chose this company over others. I even confirmed the timeline because it affected what I would pack vs sell. It is now July 3 and my shipment has just arrived at port.
They do not accept credit card payments as a final payment, only wire transfer, but had no problem direct-debiting the account I only authorized to be used for the initial deposit towards the final payment.
My bank warned against companies that only accept wire transfers in general. Ruby did state a credit card could be used with a non-reversal clause signed by both parties...which feels akin to the level of protection a wire transfer provides.
Non-disclosure of fees, such as late fees, is shady at best.
My bank informed me that scammers have learned not to pull large sums of money. They debit smaller amounts until the account locks at the maximum daily/weekly limit. That is a general warning from my bank. I won't imply that was the intent of this company or any of its employees.
I will now have to pay the fabricated 5% "late fee" because my shipment is being held hostage at the port. I am extremely lucky the receiving movers contacted me and informed me that the shipment has arrived. They have been transparent about what the hold means for my shipment.
It's too bad as this move is temporary. It would have been easiest to use the same company for our return trip.

I cannot thank everyone at Ruby Moves enough for ensuring my shipment arrived safely and in a timely manner.
I reached out to them on February 23rd, and my shipment was picked up on March 3rd in the US and was due to be sent via ship to Abu Dhabi. As I am sure anyone reading this knows, that was a few days after the war broke out.
After consulting with Ruby Moves as to my options, I decided to opt for air freight, as I wanted my things before the turn of the century. Once air freight became available again, my shipment left (ahem) “strait-away” and arrived ahead of schedule and was delivered today (April 24th). The moving company (GAC) just dropped everything off today, and they also did a fantastic job. I seriously cannot be happier. I am so glad I chose Ruby Moves. They are excellent at keeping in touch with their clients and work very hard to ensure your move goes smoothly, even in the middle of a war. I’d give them more stars if I could.

SORRY. I am writing this to share my extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with Ruby International Moving regarding my international sea shipment from the United States to Hanoi, Vietnam. From the very beginning, everything seemed professional and well-organized, but things quickly took a troubling turn. After I made the initial payment as agreed, nearly $18.000, the company began delaying the process without any clear explanation. Despite repeated follow-ups, I was left waiting for an unreasonable amount of time with no proper updates. What made the situation even worse was that their team had already come to my home and taken nearly all of my belongings — including essential furniture such as beds, wardrobes, tables, and chairs — leaving my home almost empty.
Instead of shipping my items as promised, they moved everything into a storage facility without my consent and then demanded that I pay additional storage fees that were never mentioned beforehand in the agreement. This felt extremely dishonest and unprofessional, as I was put into a position where I had no choice but to comply if I wanted my belongings returned or delivered. The lack of transparency, broken promises, and unexpected charges strongly suggest deceptive practices. I urge everyone to be very cautious and vigilant when considering Ruby International Moving for any international relocation services, as my experience raises serious concerns about their reliability and integrity.
In addition, my situation became even more unacceptable with Ruby International Moving as they held all of my belongings from November 2025 until March 2026 without providing any confirmed shipping schedule or clear communication. Throughout those months, I did not receive a single proactive update about when my items would actually be shipped. When I reached out via email to complain, they shifted the blame to the shipping line, claiming there were no available schedules, and insisted that I simply continue waiting — all while still requiring me to pay ongoing storage fees. This is completely unreasonable and shows a lack of accountability. Another major red flag is that the company insists on payments strictly through bank transfer or Zelle, refusing to accept debit or credit card payments, which removes an important layer of financial protection for customers.
At this point, I am taking steps to contact my bank to dispute and recover the nearly $18,000 USD I have already paid, and I will demand the immediate return of my belongings from their warehouse so I can work with a more reliable and trustworthy international moving company instead.
I also strongly suspect that many of the positive reviews about Ruby International Moving on various websites may not be entirely genuine, but rather intentionally created to build false trust and lower customers’ guard. Based on my personal experience, I feel it is important to speak honestly and warn others. I sincerely advise everyone to conduct thorough research, verify all terms carefully, and think twice before entrusting this company with something as important as your personal belongings and financial security.

Ruby Moves took care of our family’s move from the US to New Zealand, and I honestly couldn’t recommend them more. This was our first big international move, and I went in knowing absolutely nothing about the process.
Eric guided us through every step with incredible patience and clarity. Communication was excellent — he answered all our questions, dealt with anything that came up (often outside normal hours), and really took the stress out of what could have been an overwhelming experience.
Costs were explained clearly from the start, with no surprise fees along the way, which I truly appreciated. Their agents in New Zealand were also fantastic to deal with — fast, friendly, efficient, and professional.
Overall, the whole experience felt well-managed and reassuring from start to finish. I’m very grateful for the care and support Ruby Moves provided during such a major transition for our family

The service we received from Ruby International for our move from the US to Belize was wonderful! Their communication was great from beginning to end. No hidden surprises or added expenses. The process was honestly seamless. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone planning a move!
In the beginning I asked for a packet tobe sent to my home I was given a PDF file . I am not very good with computers. Was not sure until the week before our ship date if we would get a container. After sending our container it went to a random inspection
All we were given was a phone number to call about when the container would be released. I do not feel Ruby represented our interests.yhe quote for shipping was also not close.I during inspection many of our items were stained with grease.I would not recommend using this company.they took our m only and left us on our own.

Excellent Experience from the start to the End....I was very much while moving whole household internationally but Ruby Movers had made it very easy...They were very helpful from the signing the paperwork, scheduling pick up, loading goods on vessel and even delivering goods to Australia. Their pick up team from the US was excellent and I was very surprised by their delivering team efficiency in Melbourne, Australia. Highly Recommend. They even deliver way before their delivering window. Very good at communication, advising and delivering what they promised. I originally signed contract with another moving company but thank god, i cancelled with them and Sent my good through Ruby Movers. Dont look at saving few dollars, Ruby Movers are the best and they deliver what they promised. Cant Thank Enough. Much appreciated.
Absolutely flawless moving experience from start to finish. First, the level of organization and detail put into prepping for the move was outstanding. This made moving day very smooth. All of my furniture was carefully wrapped and loaded properly. The team was very careful and precise when loading and moving items into the container. They were very patient with us. The moving crew all worked very well together. Overall a great experience and highly recommend Ruby International.
A very disappointing experience and future customers beware.
We arranged our family move from the US to the UK with Ruby International and have been extremely disappointed with their service. We were threatened into paying unjustified costs, without providing any evidence of the additional fees. At best they have been incompetent, at worse liars.
This is my second attempt to post this review as my first was removed without explanation.

This service was outstanding! The guys arrived on time and moved quickly. My container was packed to capacity and nothing was damaged. Super kind and professional service. I’m extremely satisfied.
We have used Ruby Moves twice, most recently to ship door-to-door furniture, books and household goods from Berkeley CA to Burgundy, France. Helen and Ayal were readily available by phone for the many occasions when we had questions or needed clear explanations. We were informed by e-mail or telephone about every scheduled event and everything happened according to schedule. The two men who arrived to pack up our personal belongings were punctual, efficient, courteous and furthermore, when we unpacked our things in France, we saw everything had been carefully packed for shipment. In France, the two men were also punctual, courteous and efficient in getting 65 boxes and items of furniture up a hill and a flight of stairs. We can't imagine a more top-notch moving company. Thank you Ruby International!

Well, true to form, Ruby continues to shirk responsibility, to distort facts, and to renege on any of the few useful "solutions" it proposed. Unfortunately, as a result, I must reiterate that the company is to be avoided at all costs. I am left having paid top dollar for recklessly and incompetently packed and transported high value items which also are cherished family heirlooms. I will be reporting my experience with this company to consumer protection agencies and other relevant public entities. Something is deeply wrong with this company and its personnel. I have moved across this globe numerous times and NEVER experienced such incompetence and outright refusal to even attempt to make things right.

Helen, with Rubymoves, was my coordinator and she was fantastic. Over the phone we went over all the box dimensions and furniture descriptions and how to prepare for the movers. She placed all the info into the system and told me what else I had room for. When the moving team came to my house they carefully wrapped all the parts to my mahogany Sleigh Bed, and packed all the boxes into a crate in less than 1 hour. The men were kind, professional, polite, and very understanding of my situation. Thank you Rubymoves for such a great Team to help me deploy!
I moved my 1 bedroom apartment from Brooklyn, NY USA to İstanbul, Turkey. They have top-notch moving partners in Brooklyn, NY. All my furniture and items were packed professionally and cataloged in detail. I forgot some items and they arranged pick ups later on. Helen explained the whole process in detail and was patient and responsive as I navigated the complicated language amd process of moving overseas. Eyal did a detailed survey before I decided to use Rubymoves and made me feel at ease about the process moving forward. Helen stayed in contact until my shipment reached the docks in İstanbul and was responsive the whole time.
I wasn't familiar with RubyMoves/Ruby International, but after getting several estimates, my company chose them to handle the relocation of our household from southern Italy to southern Oklahoma after long-term overseas employment. From first contact, there was great communication -- they kept me informed at every step and responded quickly (sometimes after hours!) to any questions I had. They provided me with everything I needed to know, and told me exactly what info they needed from me. I complicated the import/export procedures by including some dutiable stuff in the shipment, and they even made that easy for me; they sent me the necessary forms and customs clearance was quickly and professionally handled.
Their affiliates in Italy and their crew here in the States were all hard-working and efficient. Our things were packed well and delivered in the same condition in which they were shipped. Unloading was done quickly and while we didn't want much unpacked or assembled, that little bit was done perfectly in accordance with our wishes.
The final item -- our car -- was unloaded at the end of our driveway this morning, shiny and ready to drive.
As someone who hates moving, I must say that Ruby International's professional door-to-door service made it a fairly painless experience!
