Had issues years ago with one of my cats who was badly treated at a local cattery and was completely fobbed off by the so called person who investigated it saying it was normal behaviour from a cattery I’m sorry but it was not and is not acceptable to treat an animal like that.

Phoned today after seeing a junkie repeatedly hitting his dog and after 400 options the number went dead and the same happened again.

Pathetic how they claim to be helping animals when they couldn’t care less.

Hopefully they get investigated as they clearly don’t give a crap and sit around making excuses and ignoring calls

Found a young fox cub in my garden near a railway line that had lost both lower hind legs. I called sspca who said they would attend and asked me to keep an eye on the cub. It never moved, must have been in agony. I sat for hours watching the poor soul. Eventually i got a call from a SSPCA worker who told me they would not come because the cub would have run off by the time they arrived which was clearly not going to happen. I insisted and eventually a very unsympathetic and disgruntled woman turned up. She snared the cub with no compassion then euthanised it in front of me. Had no compassion whatsoever. Like she was really annoyed that I had called because she was late home for her dinner. For me the incident was extremely traumatic. If it happened again I would rather call a vetand pay for them myself. An incident I will never forget. Appalling.

I don't think they deserve one star I reported my dog stolen by a group of people. Provided evidence of ownership is KC cert microchip cert. Vet bills paid by myself and photos of me and my dogs. But because the thieves claimed they owned it without proof. The Sspca let them keep the dog. She was stolen for breeding and financial gain.

What's the point in reporting this and why do we have microchips in our dogs. I thought that was there to confirm who owns the puppy. My feeling is Sspca inspectors take back handers from dog thieves etc.

Several others plus myself have called repeatedly about the conditions of a local farm and the various animals therein. Sheep and lambs have died, carcasses left to rot without proper sanitized collection, cows and calves knee deep in their own slurry and recently the neglect of horses. Coordinates were given in every instance yet no inspection nor assessment took place, far less a call back. In the meantime, calves have died and a pregnant mare, due to foal is neglected in a field full of glore, little feed, no visible water source nor shelter. I am angrier with the SSPC’s disinterest and total lack of care than I am over anything. For years I donated to them. I honestly don’t know what they do as their promises are empty claims. While animals die in distress. Disgusting.

I have called repeatedly about a dog left out in extreme conditions with no shelter- minus five last night and it’s shivering in a garden with frozen water and matted coat .
This dog is going to die - children from the play park can see the dog in the back garden here in Cumnock and it is pitiful . It lies barely moving and limping when it does move . Absolutely no shelter and never allowed in . SSPCA attended once in the summer and haven’t attended since . There’s no prevention - staff appear disinterested. Not even a call back and zero visits - disgraceful - do not waste your money supporting this charity

A swan recently flew into our roof, tumbled down the roof and then fell about 7 or 8 metres to the ground. We were very impressed with the advice given by the SSPCA on the phone, the two visits we had from SSPCA personnel and the very skilful way the swan was put into a swan bag! The SSPCA officers were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable, the swan was fortunately just stunned but didn't have enough room to take off in the garden. Once in the swan bag the swan was taken away to be released in a safe , spacious environment. An excellent result!

The SSPCA Took My CATS From my home in the 23rd of April without a warrant because a housing officer who was very abusive to my husband who has a mental condition is a veteran and loved them as it was his Security when he felt down.The officer responsible was seen throwing my poor cats into the van howling as she hit them . The lies this,officer has told her boss is unbelievable and now their saying I need a lawyers letter to get them back .Can anyone give me any advice on how I can fight them as their thugs and should not be allowed near any animal .

My mum has looked after a little crow for years since it was a baby - it couldn't fly. But it had a home, food, water and love. It was a part of the family like any cat or dog. These crooks take animals away from loving owners just so they can kill ("euthanize") them. That's their idea of protecting animals. Just like the Nazis did with disabled people. Animals have no right to life according to the SPCA. RIP Loki Lou. Another victim of this cruel world. Do not support or engage with these monsters.

Phone lines don't stop they said we don't have time to get through all.the calls they said. It s why we can't pick up wildlife they said. Well this one found the time just after 16:00 today 14th July 2025 to spend some of her £42,000 annual on her weekly. Saves her petrol using the company van doesn't it because at 16:00 ish this afternoon it wasn't a lunch stop and there were no donation food or collection tins in store. I call today for advice regarding a baby seagull who is clearly in pain and dragging its wing along the ground.
to be told that unless i could capture it myself or the animal was not able to move they could do nothing to help as they didn't carry anything to capture it. The adviser was so unprofessional and actually should be ashamed of the advice given . This poor innocent animal will now be left to slowly suffer and die.

SSPCA are meant to help, people in need they only care for them selves not the welfare of the animals what so ever, they are corrupt, they don't help if need advice etc they just interested in taking animals of people that don't abuse them, but yet with others that severely beat their dogs to pulp they don't respond, take for instance a greyhound in Dingwall tied to Railings SSPCA never did anything, they seem not do a lot for wildlife or domestic animals. A lassie called Lacey-Mae McRoberts (Tanya Beatie Mitchell) with her cats way they are kept never vaccinated, litter trays disgusting, 2 male cats not neutered and a female cat not spayed, no wonder why the 2 male cats spray everywhere and the female cat shits down behind washing machine and sofa not use litter trays my dog came back from her in hell of a state and SSPCA ain't dealing with this lassie from Dingwall not on at all, now my dog needs go back vets for more treatment as her skin still flakey as hell as Lacey-Mae McRoberts (Tanya Beatie Mitchell) Fed her on wrong food Wagg is bad quality food. SSPCA u need get a grip on this that poor cats are suffering cause of you and her not treating them right animals need be vaccinated even if indoor cats, flea and worming treatment

Phoned the Aberdeen sspca! About an injured pigeon! Told me they couldn’t do anything take the bird to the vets and got past back and fourth no care in the world from them!!! Wouldn’t give this charity again! And by the way I tried for 4 days with this pigeon kept the bird warm and fed! Sadly it passed tonight probably due to infection from a bite. The bird could have been saved too! Joke of a place!!

Phoned about an ill baby crow and they’ve helped me with so many injured birds. Very quick to arrive and know baby crows in the best hands. Thank you again you amazing animal hero’s

What a bunch of cowards you are, we have reported NEIL MUNRO at 15B BURNTISLAND FOR ABUSE, DOGS BARKING AT ALL HOURS OF DAY OR NIGHT, HE WAS SEEN BY A GROUP OF PEOPLE WATCHED HIM BEAT THE DOG VERY BADLY, HE WAS JUMPING AND KICKING HER AND SHE WAS STUCK IN CORNER, FIFE COUNCIL DO NOTHING AND THE POLICE DO NOTHING WITHOUT EVIDENCE, FIFE COUNCIL ARE TOTALY TO BLAME FOR PUTTING A SCITZO IN A BLOCK OF OLD PEOPLE, THE POLICE HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE BEATING ON THE DOGS AND THEY SAY ITS YOUR DEPARTMENT, THIS GUY IS REALY CRAZY N VIOLENT AND HE IS GOING TO KILL ONE OF THOSE DOGS ONE OF THESE DAYS. Tried rearrange an appointment thro them as busy the day they booked, they said they cant and then left me a threatening voicemail. Dont trust these lot people with ur animals. Not even worth 1 star either #corrupt #sspca #suethem

I am so disappointed that the Society has for reasons known only to themselves decided to leave the Islands of Lewis & Harris, Uists and Barra without a full time Inspector after Senior Inspector Calum Watt retired.
This decision has put animal welfare on these Islands back to what it was before an Inspector was stationed here. An example of this is the dog that was so traumatised by people in its own home that it had to be put down, there has been no action at all on this. Yes there is supposedly an Auxiliary here who cannot bring prosecutions on his own and if you phone the 0800 to report anything you are told there is no one on the Island.
I am aware that the monies raised here no way covered the cost of an Inspector but surely the welfare of the animals are and should be the main consideration.
To conclude this I was also appalled at the closure of the Balmore Centre in Thurso, do any of the directors know what its like to travel that road to Inverness in the winter. I am that old that I remember the man that fought for years to get a centre opened in Thurso, Rob Roy you must be turning in your grave.

Disappointed with the reaction from the Sspca. I reported illegal drug testing on my rescue dog from Romania. They were giving him a cheaper human antihistamine which made him very distressed. The RSPCA immediately classed it as a high priority and we're acting on the information. They were disappointed when they found out the rescue charity was in Scotland called Perrera and it was up to the SSPCA to investigate. They were not interested as some antihistamines can be used for dogs... But with vet advice.
Can the SSPCA confirm that as trustees of the dog they can ignore Vetinary advice and prescribe whatever they want to as Perrera claim. Do these people at Perrera have the authority and can you please at least check.

My experiences with reporting ill and injured sheep in Scottish Borders has resulted in either no action or too little action too late. It's very sad, but I would have to rate SSPCA's usefulness in protecting sheep as next to hopeless.
