This review is on the booking stage of my interactions with Secret Escapes. This was first class and even the link that was attached to my confirmation worked brilliantly. So the booking experiance was first class 5 *.
Let hope the stay will be the same.

We stay at Burley Manor booking through SE, what a magic place this is, the decor is beautiful and such a lovely place to relax. Our room was very special and had a great dinner. The deal through SE was excellent! Will go again, soon I hope.

Booked trip on web and not the app- it’s unhelpful that you cannot add the trip details to the app once you then get the app !!!

We enjoyed a fabulous 5* Secret Escapes experience at the Beechwood Hotel, North Walsham, Norfolk. Just one night and wished it could have been more. This gourmet hotel, often visited by Agatha Christie when it was a friends' large private house, is full of Christie memorabilia. The package included a cream tea on arrival, dinner and breakfast. We had read somewhere that sometimes customers on these Secret Escapes hotel deals are presented with a set dinner menu. Not here. We were astonished to be told we could choose anything from the (expensive) a la carte menu. Our meal was cooked to perfection, with the finest ingredients. Staff so helpful and courteous all the time. The package included one night in a period room with a four-poster bed. We'll be back if this deal comes up again.

I saw they use AI for the advert so I think this must be a scam as they didn't have money for real actors and cannot show real hotels.
I will never use a company who advertises with AI as its untrustworthy.

The details of our trip to Morocco were confirmed 2 days before we arrived - This was accommodations, and pick up times and locations throughout the trip.
On the day of arrival at Marrakech airport, we were picked up by a Secret Escapes representative and handed our confirmed Itinerary, this matched what we'd been given 2 days previously.
Unfortunately, nothing on the confirmed itinerary matched what actually happened while we were there - at every single point where there was a change of accommodation or a pickup that Secret Escapes had arranged, there was an issue. We either were not picked up where we were supposed to be picked up, Weren't staying where we were meant to stay, or nobody seem to know who we were and where we were meant to be.
Of course, we asked Secret Escapes as our travel representatives for some help, the initial number given did not work - It was not connected. The second number we were given was connected to WhatsApp - We sent a message which was ignored, three weeks after returning the message had still not been opened.
As 2 females travelling together in a strange country, this was rather concerning and quite upsetting at times. We spent a lot of time worrying about whether we would be met, picked up or sent to the right place, prior to arriving at each new location.
In the end, we decided to take matters into our own hands and booked our own accommodations and transport back to the airport, so that we could salvage the remains of our holiday and enjoy it without worrying - despite the additional cost this was the best decision we made.
Whilst I understand that things go wrong on trips at times, what I can't accept is that Secret Escapes at no time made any effort to contact us, help us, or support us whilst we were in Morocco.
Since returning, I have followed up with them explaining all the issues we had, asking them to find out what happened, and they are still yet to reply with an explanation as to what went wrong, or offer any form of proper apology.
Following our experience and their lack of interest, or care for their customers, I would certainly not book with this company again.
I would also advise anyone thinking about booking with them to seriously consider an alternative operator.
Or pray you don't have problems or need help from them, whilst you are on your trip.
Whilst the cost price for the trip was quite good, the problems we had, coupled with Secret Escapes utter lack of interest in our wellbeing and safety once they had our money, made it an expensive trip emotional health wise.

09.09.26- Despite as below on 31.08.26 Secret Escapes state this has been escalated, I have still heard nothing from anyone - a very obvious sign there is no interest in customers except as a source of income.
The WhatsApp msg we posted asking for URGENT help whilst out there has still not even been read.
As a company you shouldn't say you'll do something then do nothing at all. And don't bother giving support contacts out if you aren't going to check them.

I've used SE a number of years now and have enjoyed some great hotel experiences the only issue I would have is in terms of pricing. The lowest room discount is shown but if you are staying for more than one night you are not going to be paying that price as each night is individually priced according to what day of the week it is and what grade of room it is.

Booked several hotels with Secret Escapes, great service and excellent prices.

First time using secret escapes, the over all experience from start to finish was more that I expected, with no hiccups and the Macdonald Old England hotel in Windermere was excellent and an excellent choice by secret escapes, and will most definitely use the again.(Watch this space)

Traditionally holiday ads will try and sell to you by showing where you might go and what you may expect, but Secret Escapes clearly have no faith in their own destinations or locations as they instead show you disgusting looking AI fantasies that are made to trick you.

Shockingly disgusting and out of touch behaviour from a company who has no faith in their own business.

We recently returned from a 12 night tour of Sri Lanka in August & booked with a lovely gentleman called Mashaal through Secret Escapes. His customer service was old school excellent & he made the process very simple given it was a special holiday & was very happy to run through any questions or concerns before our departure which was reassuring. I would not hesitate contact Mashaal at Secret Escapes for any other future holidays. On arrival we were assigned to Routes of Ceylon tour company who were excellent & we were blessed to have Danuka Asanka (Danu) as our personal driver & guide who made our trip one we will never forget given his expertise & local knowledge. It was extremely easy to use SE booking.

I’ve just booked a 2 night stay for November through Secret Escapes after contacting the hotel direct and finding they were unable to come anywhere close to the price on SE for exactly the same package.

I’m usually dubious of going through a third party but I will definitely be using SE again.
