I ordered my shutters in May 2020 - with a 12 week lead time. They cost 2k. I had no updates on the order unless I chased and they finally arrived in October - 16 weeks after ordering. I had less that 24 hours notice they were arriving - I live on my own so wanted to make sure I had someone to help me.
Two panels significantly damaged - although wrapped and parcelled well - had obviously been damaged at some point in transit. Phoned and arranged for a redelivery which was fine - had no written confirmation of that so followed up by email in order to have an audit trail. We are now in December 7 months on and I gave no idea when they will arrive. They come from China which obviously adds time. I will have to pay for a second installation too.
If I was starting again. I think I would try and find a local company any and a product made in the UK which some more attention on the customer. I am really disappointed.
Have a really good look round before you commit is my advice. No way would use again

My shutters were delivered within the estimated time of arrival.
The wrong fixings were sent.
Having watched the installation video which showed the frame pre drilled I assumed that the frame was also incorrect as there were no screw holes.
I contacted customer services. I was asked to send photos and given the email address which I did straight away. I was told I would have to wait 3 days for a reply.
Having got no reply I called again to find I had been given the wrong email address.
Photos resent I was hopeful but no reply.
After a further 4 phone calls and now nearly 4 weeks later I still do not have the correct fixing kit and my shutters are still in the box .
I have spoken to one lady who was helpful and established that the frame is not pre drilled. I had missed a small notice about this on the website. She also said that I would receive the correct fixings within 2-3 days but they did not arrive. Another lady told me that I shouldn’t have been told this and assured me a manager would call me within 2 days. 4 days later I am still waiting.
I have delayed writing this review in the hope that my shutters would now be fitted but I now feel totally let down.
I was going to order 4 more shutters if the first one was good but obviously I will not be using this company again and I suggest you look elsewhere too.
I understand that companies are facing difficulties but I have been given the wrong product, the wrong information and the wrong assurances.
How could theyvhave done better? well a phone call to apologise would have helped.

Excellent quality products. Delivery as promised, shutters look amazing on my windows will be ordering a further one for kitchen would highly recommend the company.

If there was a zero star rating i would be giving it.
Order paid several months ago, eventually received only to the wrong shutter blind and returned. Told they would have to remake and would be another 8 weeks!
Its now been another 10 weeks and not even an update on our missing blind.
Worst service i've ever experienced .Avoid

When you order made to measure it should be made to the measurements you supply ,after all that is made to measure not smaller all round ,
In hindsight you get what you pay for cheap as chips don’t waste your money buy elsewhere

The measuring and ordering service was very straight forward and quality of product on arrival was good. The fitting of the blinds is relatively straight forward in principle, however the fixing screws were missing and the connectors for the corners had already been pushed in place which made it difficult to get a tight fixing on the mitres.

The shutters are of good quality. But always seem to come damaged in transport. I've ordered a few times and every one has had some level of damage. Ranging from the cheaper option 12 weeks (I assume China) were so damaged I had to return, then wait another 12 weeks. The UK option have been damaged too, but the last time it was on the outside and not seen from the inside of the house, so I chose to keep and not inform the supplier. But the shutters are good, easy to assemble and install and I have had no problems once they are up. Just a shame that they get let down by their delivery company.

Really pleased with the quality and price of my new shutters, easy installation too! Would definitely buy again.

Ridiculous 10-12 week waiting time for one window regardless of Corvid is not acceptable after paying the total upfront.
Emailed customer service for for help to give me an estimated delivery date so that I could book a fitter in advance but unfortunately not very helpful
When the shutters were installed we noticed several problems from gaps, frame not square, dents, scratches and misfit magnetic catch.
Then informed customer service of these issues by email and attaching photos .
This is when customer service kept making excuses and stalling by asking for more information that got frustrating and annoying .
Eventually after several emails and resending the photos they emailed to agree a discount .
Even when they emailed to say a payment would be sent to my account in 3-5 working days we had to remind them a week later .
Thank goodness we didn’t order the other 6 shutters that we planned because when I emailed them after my initial order to ask for a bulk discount we were told it’s not possible.
Still very disappointed.

Excellent shutters, well made and incredibly easy to install. They literally change the rooms. We will definitely buy some more!

I have not installed it yet but the quality is perfect and the size fits exactly.

Easy ordering from the website, good contact, good quality product.

We got the top of the range shutters and, although expensive, they are beautiful and well worth it. It is a very long lead time to get them (over three months) and that was made clear to us before we ordered, but there is no tracking contact over that period to let you know things are going as expected. You have to just keep on believing they will eventually turn up. They did arrive safe and well-packaged, only a week or so late, and look lovely. However, there were no installation instructions included (it's not exactly simple and could go very wrong) so I'd recommend getting a carpenter to install them unless you really know what you're doing. One real problem though is that there are no accompanying screw caps, so you are left with screw holes showing in the frame. I am now trying to source oak dowel caps that will match the colour of the shutter frames and fit into the screw holes so they are not so visible. I do feel these should have been included - especially at the price paid - as it is going to be difficult to find a match.

I was very happy with the product. The quality was excellent and the size perfect.
The delivery was spot on in accordance with the anticipated due date.

Product arrived within time specified (10-12 weeks). I had questions about how to fit the shutters and contacted via telephone my questions were answered and I was reassured.

The shutter turned up damaged I. Two locations. The quality of manufacture was poor with the joiner in the corners not aligning but over lapping. This on top of of a 11week delivery with a further 11 week wait for a replacement.

One for my bathroom and one for a bedroom . I just wanted to say a massive thankyou . The quality is amazing the care taken in the packaging to ensure that they did not arrive damaged was incredible. The box of fixing was also a pleasant surprise. Your company made the fitting of these blinds for a total novice one of ease ! The on line video was so useful too . So just a message to say really really pleased with the service and quality ! Cannot fault a thing

We placed an order with Shutters Direct during lockdown after having previously had quotes from several other companies which were in some cases double the price! We wanted to get a bit of privacy for our living room which looks out onto a communal green but due to the size Venetian blinds weren’t an option and we hated the idea of vertical blinds or a net curtain!

Having never had shutters before and being unsure about if we could open the top and bottom independently, I gave customer service a call and they were very friendly and helpful when it came to answering questions about the shutters and the process of ordering so we went ahead with it and ordered via the website (after triple checking measurements!) we even opted for the cover against wrong measurements just to be on the safe side.

After receiving an email to say that the order was confirmed and estimated delivery would be 10-12 weeks (quite the wait but actually shorter than a family member who actually ordered from another company so we were happy) things did go a bit quiet.

We thought the order might actually be delayed due to lockdown but 11 weeks on we had another email to confirm delivery was taking place the next day. Bang on schedule as promised!

It would have been nice to have an update or two along the way but I can’t really fault them for it as short of saying we’re working on it, what would they say?

As for the quality of the shutters, we couldn’t be happier, they fit perfectly and have made our house look like the smartest on the block while offering us that extra bit of privacy we wanted in the front room.

They came well packaged and with all the fixings we needed and whilst the guide on how to fit them on the website wasn’t very clear, it was so easy to do. I would recommend making sure you have someone on hand to help though, especially if the window is big! If you aren’t great at DIY it’s something I’m sure a handy man could do in under an hour probably still making it cheaper than alternatives which include fitting.

I’m very glad we didn’t listen to the pushy salesman from other companies who said we needed to order through them as fitting would be a nightmare. We saved a great amount of money and are dead happy with everything.
