If I could give a 0 star I would bought a 60 dollar costume was way to big for the size listed went in to exchange it with receipt and everything in the package and they said we can’t exchange it due to the same day we bought it was the last day for exchanges they have tons of the same costume on hand now have a costume we can’t use and couldn’t try it on no fitting room will shop else where from now on would rather spend more then have no options for good customer service

Terrible place to buy a costume. I bought a costume online that was too big so bought another size and when I went to return the original costume in the store that said I could not return it and when I attempted online I could not return as well. I will never buy another costume from them and I will tell everyone I know not to as well.

they totally messed up my Halloween with the false advertising. I ordered the bloody terrifier costume... for a 10/25 party. Only to receive an email on 10/20 stating that they don't have. These Mf's then turn around and send me the knife. Which I cannot exchange in the store or get a refund. It would cost me more than what the knife is worth to return it. I'm p!ssed. By the way.. I'm told that it's going to take 14 business days to get a refund. And I went to the store on 7601 S. Cicero.. and the manager there just blew me off. saiying I ordered online. People please beware of the business. Call and make sure they have what's appearing online. And note that if you do an online transaction the physical stores can't do nothing for you.

Bought the $50 adult Coraline costume. The wig is cheap and messy, the boots don’t fit and look terrible. Horrible costume especially for the price of it.

I ordered an inflatable balloon dog costume for my daughter online. It did not work when we received it. I bought new batteries twice just to make sure that wasn’t the problem. Now I have to pay to send it back. I run a small business and I can’t imagine sending a damaged product to someone and then expecting them to pay to ship it back to me. Poor business practice. I will never shop there again. Customer service was not helpful either. Very rude.

This was the first time that I ordered from Spirit Halloween online - and it will be the last. I first ordered two (2) Zombie Babies: Hiding Harry and Crawlin' Claudette. Both arrived OBVIOUSLY used/dirty. Harry didn't even have tags. I started a return online, printed out the return slip and learned that I was on the hook for return postage - which I didn't like, but accepted - UNTIL after 3 different attempts to return via a "convenient option" as noted on the website (I tried UPS, FedEx and UPPS) I realized it would cost me TWO TIMES MORE to return them ($126 each) then I originally spent to purchase them ($69.99 each). The UPS/FedEX/USPS reps ALL suggested that I just keep them, but I had already re-ordered replacements, not knowing!
Fast forward to the replacements - and a few other items that I ordered. The new shipment shows up, later than anticipated - but it arrived - and this time? NO Claudette! She's not in the box! SO - I go to the website - try the online chat first. No go. Next I call the 866# - after pressing a couple of buttons - I'm told I will receive a call back in 3-5 minutes! GREAT! And, I did! An "automated" call back, asking if I still needed to speak with someone. Really? I press 1 for yes, and at the 21-minute mark, someone finally answers and asks how she can help. I explain that one of my Zombie Babies was missing from my oder. She says, "that's an animatronic right?" My "yes" response resulted in me being transferred to the Zombie Tech Squad before I could get another word in. Unbelievable. Can't make it up. I then RE-explain to the Tech-dude and get immediately transferred BACK to Guest Service - and on hold, once again. Finally - I end up with Kim, who was helpful - and said that she would have Claudette reshipped, and that I "should" receive it before Halloween. She was perfectly lovely and helpful - and the ONLY reason I'm giving this experience 2 stars. First - the return policy - when a store messes up and sends "returned" products that should have been taken out of inventory - shouldn't be on my dime. Better quality control would have taken care of both challenges/issues. Now I will have (hopefully - if the "new" Claudette makes it) 4 zombie babies, when I only needed 2. I'll keep my future purchases to store only. Online needs some serious help.

Customer service is a joke had to call multiple times with one rep leaving me on hold for over 40 minutes. Finally after hanging up and calling back a rep tells me my order can't be cancelled even though it has never been shipped and has been sitting there with a label created for over a week. Now they also tell me that one of the items in my order is not available. I just wanted to cancel the order because I needed all three of the items but they wouldn't let me cancel. I will never buy from them again, there are plenty of other places to buy from. Stay away from Spirit Halloween

I ordered my daughter’s Halloween costume at the beginning of October. Yesterday, 10/20, I checked the status and it showed to have been delivered….to an address about two and a half hours away. I spent quite a bit of time on hold or trying to online chat with an agent with no success. This morning 10/21, i tried again and had about a 15 minute wait time. The agent was able to solve my issue and make my daughter’s day by having a replacement overnighted.

DON'T GO, Shop AMAZON instead! I could be here all day with the number of issues/complaints I have,
but long story shortened there are some RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL employees and also the Manager. Employees will hover over your every move- making you feel very uncomfortable as if you have done something wrong or going to. The manager will only take sides with the employees when there is a problem- even getting combative. AGAIN, DO not Buy from SPIRIT HALLOWEEN!!

Sprit Halloween is a disappointment. The costumes look nothing like the pictures. The corsets are absolute garbage there is no support the sizes are not right, my costume came in broken and was none refundable this is the last time I purchase something from this store. The store itself is dirty I walked in and there was a bunch of dirt on the floor. The staff are not helpful.

This company doesn’t even deserve one star. I ordered my daughter’s costume October 3rd, right after it was restocked and while it was still showing as in stock. I even paid extra to make sure it arrived by October 16th.
By October 11th, the tracking still hadn’t moved, so I emailed to check in. They told me it was out of stock and that since I didn’t email sooner, I couldn’t get it — even though I ordered when it was clearly available. Then they changed their story and said it was actually on its way but would just be two days late.
Two days before that new date, I emailed again because tracking still hadn’t updated, and they told me the order was lost and that I’d get a refund within 21 days.
So basically, they took my money, gave me three different stories, and now I’m left without a costume a week before Halloween. Terrible customer service, zero accountability, and no urgency to make things right. I’ll never order from them again.

I would give zero stars if I could. I purchased a costume online to pick up at the store. They only held it a couple of days and then cancelled my order. However, they never refunded me. I had to call and spend over an hour on the phone waiting and talking to an agent who ended up having to refund me on PayPal although I paid with my Visa card. Will never shop there again, period.

Perhaps this is an age when kids can get less interested, but mine is still very much a child and I like it that way. We went through Poppy Playtime disappointment, Amazing Digital Circus disappointed, then FNAF disappointment before giving up. He nearly cried. Do better. If it's out of your direct control, advocate for your customers. You ruined our Halloween spirit 😮💨.

Ordered a costume online Friday October 3, 2025.
The website indicated my local store in Canada. My address given is Canadian. Tax rate charged was the HST rate. At no point in the transaction did it indicate that it was a USD transaction.
I saw the FX charge appear on my credit card today for a much higher amount then what I would pay at the nearby store. I try but could not cancel my order through my emailed order or anywhere on the website. I called the 1-866-580-5819 number. Two reps said, after an hour and a half, that even though the item has not been received by the shipper (not shipped), they cannot cancel the order.
It was recommended that I email them at: guestservices at spirithalloween dot com (have to type it since trust pilot won't allow for the proper email format). I did, the email bounced back undeliverable.
What a terrible experience. Deceptive and difficult on purpose.
Please avoid their online shopping!!

Horrible attitude and rude service from the manager 😡. Contacted corporate, they pretended to be empathetic, but at the end of the day did nothing at all. We provided all receipt information so they could check out the cameras and see exactly who the manager is that was so terrible. I encouraged them to watch the store cameras for proof of just how bad it is . I doubt they really care and won’t fix the ongoing rude service from their management.  A total waste of time contacting them
