Didnt order substription. Paid full a year ago. Now being billied annualy. Such a behaviour will doom a company.

I apologize for any confusion regarding our recent transition to subscription pricing. We sent out numerous emails to communicate this change and ensure transparency.

With the release of v25, all of our software is now subscription-based. However, you can continue using the version you purchased indefinitely without needing to stay subscribed. The optional subscription ensures that you receive the latest features, updates, and enhancements as soon as they are released.

Additionally, as an existing user, if you choose to remain subscribed, you'll be able to do so at a heavily discounted rate.

I dont recall that I was purchasing a subscription based software and I deliberately stay away from them but today I got this "As of 2025, all of our products have now moved to subscription services. But don't worry – we'll continue to honor your maintenance-based pricing until at least 2030, and you'll have access to new versions of Snagit while your subscription is active. Here's a reminder of what that means for you"

in an email and now I dont understand what I bought.

Bait and switch or smoke and mirrors, either way I am not a satisfied customer right now.

They love stealing your money and refusing to let you delete your credit card

They are very difficult to get in contact with when you have issues, and they never want to let go of my credit card. They love automatically deducting things and I don't know how to get my card out. I loathe this company and its practices.

Locked-out In A Crunch

I was locked out of my accounts after needing to reset my password multiple times. My problem was resolved by chatting for help. However, if the second password reset process had worked, I would not have needed help. Please review and streamline the password reset process and the unforeseen issue of forgetting your new password before getting into your account, and also, having to repeat the process. I desperately needed to download software that evening to my new device and prepare a screen recording video to post on short turnaround. Being locked out of my account caused extra anxiety and frustration with the multilayered reset/login process.

I have always loved Camtasia Studio

I have always loved Camtasia Studio, the program. Techsmith has always been supportive, until recently. I am thrilled for upgrades, that is awesome, but when you constantly have to upgrade and they disable functionality, it becomes a bit of a racquet. My program was working fine, and then several functions began to disappear. Of course, you need to upgrade to the new version for another $250-$500 to regain old functions. Racquet.

Thank you for your feedback and for being a loyal Camtasia user. I apologize for the recent issues you've been experiencing. I'd just like to clarify a couple of the items that you pointed out.

First, I want to assure you that we do not remove functionality from older versions of Camtasia. However, operating system updates can sometimes lead to compatibility issues. In your case, it seems that the older version of Camtasia you are using has some features that are incompatible with Mac OS 15.

Techsmith has great products

Techsmith has great products. I have used Camtasia and Snagit for about a decade or more. My recent interaction with them was re: the switch to subscription pricing. All my questions were answered to my satisfaction (honestly I am not a fan of subscription pricing - even though it appears to be becoming the norm).

I recently traveled to Barcelona and used Kiwitaxi for the first time. Booking was straightforward, and the confirmation came quickly. Upon arrival, the driver was right where he was supposed to be, holding a sign with my name. The ride was comfortable, and the driver was very courteous, even offering to help with my luggage. What impressed me most was how seamless the entire process was, from booking to arrival. I’ll definitely be using Kiwitaxi for my future trips.

Camtasia is great for anything shy of a serious film

I use Camtasia regularly to make videos of all sorts as well as computer, instructional videos, and it is great and fit for purpose. Sure it's not adobe premiere for high-end filmmaking, but it is great for office level and hobbyist video, making an editing and more. I love it, and it's well worth the money.

Helpful Quick Training Vidoes

I love the quick training videos available to users and the certification process was excellent. There are times when I forget how to do a something like "simplify" and the quick videos are super helpful to watch.

Great product; great service.

1. Great product. Dramatically simpler than comparable tools such as those from Adobe. Deep enough feature set to do complex projects.

2. Great service. I did have a few questions and issues and went through a version upgrade. Integrated tech support and actual contact with humans was all first rate.
