Found an amazing 3d model through turbosquid. I bought it and it really was an amazing model but I realized that in my excitement I hadn't read the description and it was the wrong type of model. Turbosquid issued a full refund. This is a reliable trustworthy company.

I am a 3D creator, I chosen Turbosquid because it's the only website that promotes your content in the first results if your skills are high and in my experience the "meritocracy" was always coherent, but at the cost of exclusivity (which I accepted). Further, this is the only website where inspectors check and test the quality of some eligible products, applying a badge that shows that to customers. Not just that: this is the only website that offers to artists an automated service to convert formats (with their materials, with fidelity), and a side service called Pixelsquid for selling renders-only of submitted 3D products.
For artists, much bigger sales and visibility than other sites, in general.
Very visionary, but it has its flaws: artists don't have an identity there, a "profile" (feels sterile and sad), and can't be personally contacted after purchase, so the customer experience can be problematic sometimes; customers service went worse in quality and slower in time, after the Shutterstock acquisition; Royalty given to artists is LOW; Submitting models can be tricky for artists who are not much skilled and the interface is not the best; Some UI/UX is also bad in several other areas (like the list of downloaded models) and often hampers the chances to valorize some features and to introduce others (like adding a list of bookmarked products).
A less relevant point, but worth mentioning: compared to CG Trader, the userbase in the forum is 0 toxic/extremist and you're free to mention other services without taboos or being attacked asap.
- Summary, for artists: good if you're skilled enough and serious about what you do; frustrating and unwelcoming if you just started with 3D, and quite worrying about the future since it's now a Shutterstock service, and Shutterstock is famous for not respecting contributors to a quite incredible degree (and royalty is already low by default, so the perspectives are rather that it would go worse, not better).
- Summary, for customers: good if you're a high profile customer who would spend more for quality and has some commercial projects going on, quick deadline, needing ready-to-use models; not so standing out if you're buying something simple for personal projects (other sites are valid as well in this case), and CG Trader has a better customer service anyway in case of problems as well as you can contact artists if anything is wrong. It can be determining for your choice.

As others said, they get 60% of the price, which is really robbing, as the costs for holding up some servers are FAR LOWER than that.
Also, a couple weeks ago they took 8 dollars from my account, in an "automatic payment". I tried to see if there was a buy that I forgot about in those days, but I couldn't find a list of items bought anywhere on their site.
This is by far the worst site I know of a certain relevance, and I hope that they will lose all the clients and close, because robbing 60% of people's work is really horrible.

turbosquid suspend all my model and saying that my model is COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT .... But those model was originally develop by me only and i have the proof and also have the portfolio in artstation

To Many Charges on Turbosquid, they take from each sale 60% + Taxes this is unfair. how the buyer will make money and the half profit goes to charges.

I've used it for years, as a buyer, so that's the only experience I can talk about. In the past I've had issues and support was good. I don't know how different the support is right now.

In terms of quality assets, I saw someone saying that there is "too much overpriced rubbish". Well, for me it's like that everywhere. I see good content, some of it is overpriced, but at other sites, such as cgtrader (which I also like and use), I've also encountered overpriced assets that once I download them are garbage, so I don't think this is an issue that will be solved if you migrate to other sites.

Turbosquid is good, but I do wish the prices on some of the assets would be more affordable (I saw a 10K asset one of these days). Other than that, I can't complain... there is variety and some great content as well.

The page UI does require a few features to enhance user experience. I don't see the review section anymore and there should be a button to add an asset to a wishlist. Those little things would make users happier.

my deceased husband has been selling on turbo squid. After he died I wanted to close his account. I received a very friendly reply that convinced me to keep the account open. I sent all the reqired documents and informations but never got any anwer, money or support again. In the following years I tried severel times to get in contact and close the account. Nobody ever answerd or helped me. I do suggest to everbody to avoid turbo squid.

there's straight up no download button on the 'Downloads' page (which I was taken to after clicking the big orange 'download' button for a free model). i have tried on multiple different browsers. the sites FAQ page was insufficient. I wouldn't bother getting an account to download free models. this site is useless, something seems very wrong with it.

Turbosquid is an ok platform for downloading free models. However, once you start taking money into consideration things become bad. Really bad.

First off, they take 60% of the artists' revenue. If 10 people bought your 10 USD model, you'd only get 40 USD.

Second, a lot of people are complaining that they got charged and they didn't even get the item they got charged for. That is just a straight-up scam. I don't care if it isn't intentional.

And finally, reuploading paid models for free is a big issue. You'll find a lot of great models for free but the model's page and description do not match it (so it is a reupload).

Honestly, just don't use Turbosquid. There are many better options.

P.S if you are going to get free models, be careful when using them for commercial purposes, like I said most of them are reuploads, meaning that some of them might be licensed and use of it for commercial use might be illegal.

If you don't have to contact the support and if there's no issue with downloading your purchased models, everything is fine.
In case you have to contact the support, you'll probably have to wait over three weeks for a reply.
A few years ago everything was way better on this site.
It's a shame to see how they treat long term customers.

Edit: Just check REQUEST #639838, it still takes over 2 Weeks to get an answer and no solution has been found yet.

I've been selling on Turbosquid for several years and its just come to the stage where its terrible for creators. They take 60% of every sale from creators and seem to think this is just. In the past I could offset the loss by increasing prices but now they price lock everything to prevent you from doing that. I've now stopped uploading products to Turbosquid altogether and removed my high value products. Its completely unreasonable to treat your creators so badly when they built the platform for you. If you are looking to buy 3D models, look for the same products on other platforms like CGTrader and buy from there, the cost doesn't change for you and it makes a world of difference to us creators!

They have removed serial download option. And in the free models category are pay models also. Is this some kind of joke? The site was brilliant, but what they're doing with it now is a mockery. What else will they come up with?

I use Turbosquid for years now, as both seller and buyer, and never had any problem with them. They doing great job, even if it's true that the royaltie rates are very low.
Still great support and huge amount of 3D models.

By far the worst place to sell your intellectual properties. I've been with them since 2012 and twice now, turbosquid has arbitrarily unchecked my "do not participate in sales" option and sold my models off for significantly less than the low end price I already sell my products at. Furthermore, it used to be a decent place to buy and sell but these days turbosquid has become nothing but an over saturated collection of poor quality high priced rubbish models. Do yourself a HUGE favor and seek any of your 3D needs elsewhere. Peace.

I thought buying "royalty-free" products would allow me the freedom to create awesome animations to eventually sell on Shutterstock or Videohive or any other platform where animators & artists can earn some money. It's not "royalty-free" at all. For example, they don't allow you to sell your own created animations if you used the paid royalty-free Turbosquid assets. This restricts the users from selling their creations on other platforms and this defeats the whole purpose of the royalty-free license. I think all animators out there should read Turbosquid's so-called "royalty-free" license, as this is very disappointing. I feel bad for the people that actually selling footage right now, most likely not knowing that it isn't even allowed. I'm happy I read it in time before I bought all my assets. If you want the freedom to create and sell, search for sites that actually do provide Royalty-free licenses that are not custom made to limit your freedom of selling your products on other platforms.

I gave them a one star rating at first because my order was cancelled without explanation and purchasing a model seemed like a hassle with all the steps they required. I am now giving them 4 stars because their customer service is top notch, at least it was in my case. I had a love chat with someone and they explained the issue, it was an error on my part. I made the purchase again and got an approval very quickly. When the files were ready for download, i would click on them and nothing would happen. I called and spoke to someone named Brittney, she was very nice and told me my vpn was causing the issue. She did something on her end and i was able to download. Then i was having issues downloading that specific file format... I couldn’t unzip them (I use a Mac). Called Brittney back and she quickly sent me the unzipped files with a direction sheet on how to do the rest. I eventually realized i couldn’t used what i had purchased, it was my fault, and they gave me a full refund. In addition to superb customer service they have the best 3D image selection by far.

Avoid them at all cost. In 2020 it is easier to direct sale your models then use platform like this.
