An Amazing experience
Such an amazing experience from start to finish. It was well organised, and Damon and his team were friendly, informative, and made us feel completely at ease.
Floating peacefully above the countryside with the most incredible views was magical; such a calm and beautiful way to see the world from a completely different perspective. The perfect finish was to receive a glass off bubbly at the end of the experience. I would highly recommend it.

Terrible service
Terrible service. Wouldn't advise anyone to get into this trap. I bought 2 tickets for me and my wife. However, I was cancelled twice in July and August. It wasted my weekends and spoiled other plans. I asked them to make a refund as I could not take another weather risk in September. I was shocked to know that refund was only possible after 7 cancellations by them. Which mean my money would be with them for 2 years. I didn't know this trap. Our next flight was on Sunday 13/9 however, Saturday flight was cancelled again due to weather. We didn't want to waste another weekend hence cancelled our Sunday booking via message and email. No one replied to email or message. On Monday I was told Sunday flight did go ahead and they would keep my money for No Show. I told them I did inform you however, they said they require 72 hours notice which is funny as they could cancel you last min and they are closed on weekends. I have now asked them to rebook us if they do not want to refund. However, they have refused to do that too. It has been a terrible experience of my life and an explicit fraud.
I warn everyone who wishes to book with Virgin, its a total scam to rip you off. I am sure many like us have left their money with them.
After their reply on Trustpilot I am in the process of taking legal advice. I work in legal and can see there are number of loopholes in their process.
1-At the time of ticket purchase it should be clearly mentioned to customers that no refund would be give until 7 attempts.
2-They can cancel at last minute, why customer can't do the same? They do not wish to see your email or hear call incase of an emergency cancellation. They still want you to give 72hrs notice. Not attending phone calls or responding to emails on weekends serves their purpose of keeping customers money.
3-Since, our experience, I have spoken to 2 clients who have gone through same situation. One was on holidays and left money with them after cancellation because he did not have time for second attempt.
2nd was in our situation as he was not told of 7 cancellation scam. He was expecting straight forward refund as other businesses do. He was refused too.
I will do my best to make others aware what we have gone through so people should have choice before going for this fun with them and not lose their hard earned money.
They dare to email me saying pay another £95 for each person to rebook for future date. Which clearly tells what they are up to.

We’re sorry the earlier weather cancellations disrupted your weekends previously, and we understand how disappointing it is to set aside time for a flight that doesn't then go ahead.
We must clarify that your flight on Sunday 13th September was confirmed as going ahead and did take place. The cancellation of Saturday’s flight did not mean Sunday’s would also be cancelled, as conditions are assessed for each individual flight. This is clearly illustrated on your booking confirmation and when to call the Flight Line for your own booked flight.
You contacted us to cancel within the 72-hour notice period. Sending a message or email does not override that notice requirement or automatically release a flight booking. Your seats remained reserved, and because you chose not to attend, your vouchers were used against that flight in line with our booking terms. This is why they cannot now be refunded or used to make another flight booking.
Weather cancellations and passenger cancellations are indeed treated differently. Conditions have to be monitored as close to the flight time as possible to ensure that it is 100% safe to fly. When weather conditions prevent us from flying safely, passengers can rebook. If a customer wishes to cancel, a 72 hour notice period is in place so that there is enough time for those spaces to be filled and booked by other passengers. When a flight goes ahead, the pilot and crew are committed and the reserved seats cannot simply be carried over if passengers choose not to attend or try to cancel within that 72 hour window.
We appreciate your frustration, but we strongly disagree with the suggestion that our business is fraudulent or a scam. Your flight was available to you and operated as confirmed.

Fantastic experience, I would do it again in a heartbeat.
To be honest I’m a bit scared of heights but before I knew it we had taken off and I was up in the sky taking photos, absolutely loving it, Martin the pilot was easy to listen to and explained questions anyone had.
Friendly group of people in the basket, I’m definitely rebooking again.

Change of launch site
Change of launch site. Booked The Hop Farm as this site is a couple of minutes walk from my home. Had to arrange transport to Headcorn.
Tried contacting the emergency number to postpone my flight to a date when the launch site is The Hop Farm.
No response from any Virgin contact number.
Expected to assist in prepping and packing the balloon. I am 70yrs old and have osteoarthritis.
Very harsh landing.

We’re sorry the change of launch site caused you inconvenience, particularly as you chose The Hop Farm because it was so close to home.
Launch sites can change depending on the conditions on the day. Our booking confirmations clearly explain this so our passengers can prepare for the possibility of travelling to an alternative site. This information was included in each confirmation for your five previous bookings with us.
We received your email on the day of the flight, but our records show no calls to our Customer Services team. Unfortunately emails can take up to three working days to be responded to, although we always aim to respond quicker than this. The emergency number you refer to on the booking confirmation is for emergency use only and is only available to call from one hour before the meeting time.
We appreciate that you wanted to postpone, but the possibility of a launch site change is explained in advance on every booking confirmation.
Our pilots always aim for a smooth landing, and we’re sorry you found yours very harsh. Unfortunately a drag landing can occur and the basket may even tip onto its side on some occasions.
We always encourage passengers with health or mobility concerns to consult their healthcare practitioner before taking part in an outdoor adventure activity such as ballooning and to let us know about any support they may need. Having reviewed your account, we couldn’t find any health or mobility concerns recorded beforehand. Sharing this information helps us to discuss suitability of the experience.

The actual balloon flight was excellent…
The actual balloon flight was excellent however we had to meet by 4pm and did not actually take off until 5.50 which was a long time standing around.
When we landed it took the crew at least 30 minutes to get to the site and all the time waiting the pilot was aguing with the landowner a boy why he landed there and that he was not paid enough money !! Didn’t give a great impression so we left without our landing drink and certificate

Damien the pilot was a really pleasant chap with lots of knowledge and expertise, the whole experience was worth waiting for after several failed attempts due to poor weather conditions we finally made it. Up up and away 😊 The flight was for my partner and l to celebrate her 60th Birthday. Helping to put the balloon away was an added experience 🤣

Great experience something I have wanted to do for a long time and it didn't disappoint. Russell Collins the pilot was top notch, pointing out landmarks during the flight, good landing and he organised the able bodied into a work gang to help with deflating and packing the balloon after the landing. A thoroughly enjoyable experience all round.

I have wanted to do a balloon flight for many years and yesterday my wish came true. It was everything I had hoped it would be. The pilot was very knowledgeable, experienced, and professional. The views were stunning over Rutland Water and surrounding area. The booking process is very simple which is just as well as we had to do it 5 times before our flight went ahead due to unsuitable flying conditions the 4 times previously but I'd do it all again in a heartbeat!
