2nd time I've rented from here and yet again the service was excellent. Prompt service for collecting and drop off. Lovely clean car and you get the car you book, not 'or something similar' like most other rental companies.

Excellent service throughout. Fayaz was extremely helpful, the booking process couldn't have been easier. We knew exactly what car we were getting. The car was only a week old so it was very clean and super low mileage. The car was very comfortable indeed. To the next one!

As a seasoned traveler and former rental car business owner, I was quite disappointed with the check-out and check-in process at Simpsons Skoda. Unlike the streamlined procedures I'm used to in Scandinavia and Europe, this experience was needlessly complicated, demanding an excessive amount of personal and financial information that seemed irrelevant to the rental process. I feel that such details should have been requested and registered during the initial booking, saving time and frustration upon pick-up.

Renting an electric car seemed like a great idea, but it turned into a real challenge during my trip in England. While the car was fully charged upon pick-up, returning it in the same state was a cumbersome task. The scarcity of charging stations and the inadequacy of the so-called "high-capacity" chargers were frustrating obstacles. Despite using chargers advertised at 150kW and 175kW, the actual charging rates rarely exceeded 78kW, with most of them falling below 46kW. This made the process extremely time-consuming, overshadowing an otherwise enjoyable journey.

To make matters worse, the last day of our trip was spent seeking a charging point, and it would have been a significant relief if Simpsons Skoda offered a battery top-up service at a reasonable cost.

Although the car itself was fantastic, this entire electric car rental experience in the UK left a bitter taste in my mouth. On a positive note, I must acknowledge the helpful service provided by one of the clerks during the drop-off process, which at least expedited that part of the rental.

In the future, I'll have to think twice before considering an electric car rental in the UK, as the challenges and lack of support make it a less appealing option for me. I hope my feedback can encourage Simpsons Skoda and other rental companies to improve their check-out procedures and consider more convenient solutions for electric car renters.

Great car (Skoda Scala), great service, everything explained clearly, no fuss when I asked to extend by an extra day, flexible return times, good value. And the river path walk from Preston railway station is lovely. Thanks Fayaz.

We decided pretty last minute to hire a car for the bank holiday weekend and fortunately Skoda Preston had a car available.

The booking online is straightforward, pop in your dates and pick up location and it shows you the available cars.

I drive automatic these days due to mobility problems on my left side so I was really happy to find the Skoda Fabia available.

It's very transparent, mileage, like for like fuel and breakdown recovery are all there as standard, no additional payments or add ons unless you exceed the contract amount.

The check in was really simple at the garage. The staff are welcoming and helpful. I received a call on the day to confirm my arrival just to make handover smoother.

It didn't take long to check in, even the DVLA licence check was automatic because the garage have a facility to scan photo licences and see live details.

The car was great, a nice drive, comfy and reasonably economical.

Handover was quick and the excess was returned quickly to my card.

A great experience and I will definitely use their service again.

The Skoda Octavia I drove was a free upgrade from what I had booked. It drove very well although there was an unpleasant smell of cigarette smoke when entering the car.
The car is provided with whatever fuel is left from the previous renter (virtually none) and you are asked to return the car with fuel at least to that level. A terrible system as it means the first thing you have to do is find a servo.
The paperwork at the commencement of the hire was complicated and frustrating. The proposed driver, a uk resident did not have a sufficient credit rating and was denied rights to drive. However I, as an overseas resident, just required my overseas drivers licence!
