Had a price. £8600 Turned up. Appraiser inspected car. You’ve got 2 kerbed wheels and stone chips to front bumper. There was no significant damage to bumper It’s 6 years old I said. Yes but it will be £70 per wheel to repair. Bumper will have to be resprayed. He said I can offer you £7600. I complained. I can phone my boss see if I can get an extra £200. Don’t bother I said.

The experience was horrible. I contacted them in the AM and they responded by text. They said their appraiser would be at my home "within an hour or so" and he/she never showed up. Morning turned to afternoon, no calls, no status updates, I texted them back to see what was going on, they replied "the appraiser was just busy finishing up on others" and still never showed all the way up to the evening, nobody came. These people have no respect for your time. Before I could even get a transaction done, I cancelled the whole thing. I wouldn't want to do business with unprofessional people like them!

On the 27th of August 2020 I sold a Toyota Hilux to Webuycars in Cape Town. Today, the 23rd of November I receive an Sanral e-toll invoice dated 18 October 2020.
Upon complaint to webuycars I was told that they do not inform Sanral that the car is not in the owner's name anymore. I was told now that,I would have to take it up with Sanral directly. Webuycars however does not inform the seller of this apparent obligation and it is not written anywhere in terms and conditions or the contract itself.

I recently contacted webuycars for a valuation on my vehicle as I was planning to upgrade and wanted to check the market value. The valuator turned out to offer me R120 000 for my vehicle but only if I could produce the spare key and serviced book (both at home) immediately, if not, he will offer me tomorrow R115 000! This is black mail - I find it to be unethical and in poor taste! Decided there and then to show him the road - your valuators are bullies and I will not recommend you or do business with you.

At first one thinks that one will get a car that is somewhat trustworthy, i bought a car from webuycars for R52500.00, a 2007 Volvo C30, the mileage is high so one expects there will be the normal wear and tear, i took for for a full service the same week, it cost me another 7+k which is expected, i was then given a list of items that needed replacement which is also expected. In the next week to come what i did not expect was smoke coming out the exhaust, oil being used to the extreme, now i didn't notice this when i looked at her as she was not leaking oil and her engine bay looked pretty clean. It now seems that i will have to do a entire reconditioning of the engine, which is going to cost me over 35k if not more. This is shocking to me as to how they can sell a car not knowing what the engines condition is.This is a rip off and very unethical business practice. How is one to know that something is wrong with the engine when you test drive the car and all seems good. NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE.

The inspector, Jane S., was very thorough and prompt. She explained exactly what she was doing and why. I knew my car was a salvage only vehicle and was not expecting a big pay day. I would use this company again.

Such hagglers!! One guys came out, took some pics and offered me $750 for my $42k Crossover. I said No. Then he text an hour later and said he would do $1750. Again...I said No. Then he said if I do it today he would do $2k but if it was tomorrow it would be $1000. I called his bluff and said ok. He never showed up again. Two days later another guy came and took another look at the car and ended up offering $1,000. Ummmm...what? I was offered 2k two days ago. Horrible company!!

I had a very good experience. Jose was polite and informative. Very fast response and fair company. I received close to what I had asked. I did not overprice my vehicle since it had been in an accident. Overall, great experience and I would do business with them again.

I was told that you were interested in purchasing our 2012 Kia. Arranged to meet your agent to look at the car at 11:15 on December 9, in Pueblo Colorado. Waited for 45 minutes at the agreed upon location and never showed up. Texted the individual, Ernie and he never has responded. I find this to be a poor experience with your company and if you actually were not interested or could not make it at least have the courtesy to contact me and tell me so.

I wanted to junk a car located in Brooklyn, NY. Spoke with a rep named Richard who told me someone named Jose would be able to check out car today...within a couple hours. An hour later, I called to check in. Richard told me that Jose was stuck in truck on the Belt Parkway, but that he was on his way. An hour later, I called again. Richard was gone for the day. And I was told that Jose was still on Long Island and wouldn't be coming out today. A waste of time!

All these sites are really proud of their "no obligation" quotes. It's almost impossible to get an idea of the value of your car prior to submitting all your contact information. If you want to just get an idea of what a car junks for, you need to submit name, email, phone, and sometimes more information, enabling the company to call, spam, and pressure you.

WeBuyCars.com has a handy chat. The person behind that chat isn't so handy. Gave them all sorts of information about a friend's car, but didn't want to give out their information to random internet company #253473. Chat person got real snarky and rude after that.

How hard is it to say, "Oh, this make and model with a blown engine goes for $xxx-$xxxx. If you'd like us to make it official, please give us the owners contact info."

Customer service fails

Pathetic service and processes. They made me wait for approx. 1 hour before somebody came to attend me. He took me out, inspected my car from outside and then asked me for sales agreement. I told him that I bought it from my good friend so I dont have it. He said company needs it. Its fine if its the part of the process. But if you called a customer, either tell him upfront about all the documents or atleast give him your final offer price so that if offer does not suit him he wont face botheration of getting documentation ready for you guys. I was not able to understand why their offer price was dependent upon my sales agreement. If I dont have it, dont buy it as simple as that but whats wrong in inspecting the vehicle and giving customer your final price because you called him and made him wait for 1 hour. Customers also work and they also have to take off from work if they are to visit you.

William at we buy cars came by to look at my truck today. Although they were not able to make an offer, he was a great person to speak to and very knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely be calling them first if needed in the future.
