The team was amazing — so helpful, supportive, approachable, and kind throughout the whole process. All communication felt very personal, and we greatly appreciated all the support we received.
As a primary school, we are incredibly thankful for the generous donation of sand, soil, and garden supplies for our youngest children. This support gives our children wonderful opportunities to explore, play, and learn through hands-on experiences, which makes them very happy.

Avoid. Wickes runs a website that gives you the choice of collection or delivery but I have very little evidence that they are able to carry out a delivery service. It’s a year to the day since I last tried to get a delivery in south London. It was a disaster last time. Wincanton seem to be their GoTo courier but it would seem that they are only able to afford a transit van.
Last year they missed off an entire jumbo bag of sand because they only had a van!
This time it was the entire order as the couldn’t fit it all in their van. It’s a clown service.
I ordered 20 small sleepers, 10 bags of ballast and 2 cement. I chose Thursday as my delivery day. Thursday evening after waiting in all day I get a call from the Erith branch saying they couldn’t deliver because it won’t fit on their van, but they would deliver on Friday and Saturday in two separate deliveries.
Fine.
An hour later I get an email saying my £35 delivery charge has been refunded.
Nice gesture I think.
Saturday evening after waiting in for 3 days the delivery is not here. 30 minutes on the phone trying to contact customer service they cut me off. Their chat bot couldn’t put me through to an agent either. Nothing they say or do can make up for this moronic system.
Now I have to try and get my £250 back and I’ve missed a whole bank holiday weekend to complete a project. Well twice bitten never again. 2nd May 2026

Since then I have been informed that Wickes delivery dates are ‘estimated’ only as stated in the small print.

Wow!! I was so pleased with the service I received today at the Erith store. I found a large item, which was in the sale. As it was a spontaneous purchase, I hadn't come prepared - my car had stuff in the boot etc. Anyway, the staff were SO helpful. SARAH sorted out the purchase with discount and MAX and JARROD fitted it in my car, after a bit of heaving and pushing. The item was extremely heavy and large. They did all this without any complaints, infact they were smiling and cheerful
Erith store is very lucky to have these 3 stars!!! Excellent customer service.

I RECEIVED A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FROM WICKES IN RESPONSE TO THIS REVIEW. I HAD 3 DAYS TO PROVIDE THE INFORMATION, WHICH I DID, ON DAY 1. FOUR DAYS LATER AND NO CONTACT WHATSOEVER AND ALL OUTSTANDING ISSUES REMAIN UNRESOLVED.
Paid to have Wickes design, supply and fit a new bathroom. Horrendous from the start. Wickes insisted on full payment in advance. We were expecting to pay half up front and the rest on completion but we were told they did not do that. This should not be allowed for such a costly order. Wickes had every penny up front and we are left trying to sort out all the mistakes.
Numerous mistakes were made in ordering parts. A chrome shower door was ordered when the rest of the cubicle was black, the wrong toilet flush button was ordered on two occasions, no cabinet handles were ordered whatsoever. A vanity unit was ordered that wasn't even part of our design, and we were charged over £800 for it. We had to make 2 visits to store and fight for a refund. We paid for a mirror advertised as having lights and a hands free sensor. The mirror has the lights and a touch button on the front, but there is no hands free sensor. It is clearly stated on the website that it has hands free - false advertising! There was no communication whatsoever between Wickes and the fitter, and we had to constantly act as go between to get matters resolved. Countless hours were spent with phone calls that were never returned, with us frequently having to present in person at the store to get any answers. On 4th April, some 7 weeks after the start of work, we resorted to completing the online complaint form. We received an acknowledgement stating we would be contacted within 48 hours. 5 days later and we have heard nothing.
Now nearly 8 weeks since the fit started, we are still missing one cupboard handle, we now have the correct toilet flush button but despite repeated requests, this has still not been fitted. A piece fell off the top of the shower door after less than a week of use and this has still not been fixed. We are still waiting for the incorrect shower door to be collected.
Absolutely horrendous experience from start to finish. We were planning on getting Wickes to design our en suite bathroom next but given this experience that will not be happening and I am advising friends and family to avoid Wickes at all costs.

I couldn't find some plants that I wanted to buy at the store in Erith. Amy was extremely helpful and brought the plants out for me. She even helped me put the three heavy bags of compost in my car boot as I was unable to do it myself. Thanks very much Amy 😊
