I had a small window of opportunity to organise a skip to be delivered at short notice to my late mother’s house.
Josh Grimes, working in the office, took my call and made sure everything I needed was taken care of. Some might say it was a simple process, perhaps, but I needed, in that moment, someone who would use their communication skills to convey an assurance that my needs would be met. They were. Thank you Josh.
Delivery was on time. Confirmation by the delivery driver it had been delivered.

When I called they told me that it's been missed of transport, great i have contractors waiting for the skip charging me £350 per day . Skip turned up at 4.30 pm thanks AMA , no compensation told I would have to make official complaint

I ordered several skips from AMA, with the last order placed on 28.03.25 and paid for at the same time. I had booked an exchange for 02.04.25, but they did not show up for the exchange. I contacted them on 03.04.25, and they promised to come the same day. When I followed up on 04.04.25, nothing happened. I contacted them again at 1:00 PM , and they began making excuses, stating that their truck had broken down, and they would be delayed. When I contacted them again at 4:00 PM, they suddenly claimed that I had not ordered anything or made any payment. After an hour of arguing, I was finally able to prove that I had paid. However, they now claim that they will only refund the, it's 5th may and still waiting. I have confirmation email from Elliott Allen on 4th April regarding refund payment.
Another issue is that from the first day of ordering, I requested a tax invoice Not Card transaction receipt. I have never received it. They told me the system was down. I have evidence in my emails requesting the invoice for VAT claims. Today, they mentioned that they would leave a message for management to sort it out. How is it possible for them to charge a customer without providing an invoice?

Had a terrible experience booking skip. Skip apparently couldn't be delivered through no fault of our own however we were charged for a failed delivery. I had hassle them for 3 days before someone finally spoke to me to tell me what was going on with my skip and that it wouldn't be delivered. The level of communication I received was horrendous, and received no t&C's or booking reference. After hassling many more times I finally got through to a helpful and polite manager. But prior to that my entire experience was shocking including my contact with another manager.

So, the mother in law died. We had the funeral reception in the garden next to the church.
Ordered a skip, used it, requested it before gone before the 16th April 2025 due to the funeral. AMA say unable to pick up until the 18th March. I needed to put a huge tarp over the skip to try and hide it.... a 6 yard skip. The drive where the skip is, is part of our garden and where 60 people gathered after the burial.
24th April the skip is still here.
No indication as to when they are picking it up.
Only ever used this company, I've never not been impressed with them, the service and drivers have been exceptional - until the wife burst into tears over the skip still here on her mothers funeral. Must be at least 7 years now I've used AMA.

I was very disappointed as the skip should of been picked up on the 27th March & it wasnt.The 28th was my completion date, & removal day, wwhich i explained when i ordered the skip & your advisor assured me it would be collected the day before on 27 th March.We couldnt move any of our furniture as the skip was blocking the drive, My van was ordered for 8 am on the 28th, & after about 4 calls to you the skip finally arrived after lunchtime.I wasnt able to hand my keys in to the estate agents until 4.45 pm, it was disgusting, i will never use your skips again.Infact i should get some money refunded, which you haven't offered, you will not be getting my custom again i & i wont be recommending your company to any family & freinds. Apparently i heard after that this happens quite alot with your company. I was very disappointed .

Skip ordered 07/02 no issues with delivery, driver said that we could put in greedy boards to utilize as much space as possible. When booking the collection informed it would be AM, also requested a telephone call on the day so that we would be on hand to deal with access if required or any issues. This did not happen and when the driver came he refused to take it due to it being overfilled. Items were removed as requested and the driver said he had to leave to go to another job. When we called the office to discuss the collection they said we would need to pay a Wasted Journey Charge of £156 to cover petrol, wages, missed jobs and other costs. Raised a complaint and requested on several occasions to speak to management. Was informed that management does not deal with this type of complaint.
Nowhere in the terms and conditions on their website does it mention a Wasted Journey Charge or a price of £156.00 (which they stated may vary depending on where the skip comes from). Also it offers you the option to download a copy of the terms and conditions but fails to state that the downloaded copy differs from those on the website. The downloaded version is more in depth and supersedes the one on the website but it also does not mention a Wasted Journey Charge which they stated is covered in Section 23, subsection 23B, it is NOT.
Sought legal advice from two different organisations and both stated that this was a breach of contract due to them changing the price from the original £330.00 plus vat of £55.00.
So please do your research first and read the terms and conditions of both sets before parting with your hard earned cash. Also please note that they do not have a proper complaints process.
If you do proceed to hire a skip check out companies in your local area as the one which we received was from Wolverhampton and delivered to Birmingham.
Please note that further to a response from AMA Waste Management on a different review platform that I checked the terms and conditions before posting this review and at that time they had not amended their terms and conditions to clearly state the Wasted Journey Charge. Also with regards to raising the complaint this was done during a telephone call and not once was it mentioned about the requirement to raise it via their formal email process.
Also the Wasted Journey Charge was paid due to the fact that they would not collect the skip until it was paid. So in the end we paid in total £486.

Booked a skip today and Saffron Gohegan was so helpful and it was booked with ease. She booked with me and then called my partner herself for payment which was easier for me.
