Waiting on items that having come . When ordering they say they in stock and end up waiting nearly a week and still haven’t had my order DX the sercive is crap delivering for AD had to go to different address to pick up my items where they have left them poor service
Poor service
Ordered banded hooklengths but std arrived . Angling direct agreed to resend goods again they did wrong again I won’t buy from there again poor poor service nobody has a clue what’s going on .

Warrington branch has terrible customer service. The staff are ignorant and very unhelpful. You ask for help while the staff all congragate behind the counter pretending they haven't heard you. Staff need to be re trained or complete change over.
Brilliant service
Very impressed again. Ordered 8 am, delivered 1pm the following day. Well done Royal Mail as well.

I have spent (what I would consider) a large amount of money with AD and have been largely satisfied with the service.
However my most recent experience has been nothing short of shocking.
I will keep a very long story as short as I can….
Had a faulty bivvy light in warranty……opened up a claim via their website and followed the instructions to return the item promptly.
On the 5/02/2026 I received a message saying the exchange had been authorised by the manufacturer and I the item should be delivered within 3 days.
On the 12/02/2026 I messaged to say I had not received a replacement……….no reply!!!
Message sent on 19/02/2026 asking for further action as still not received…….no reply!!!
Messaged AGAIN on 28/02/2026…….no reply!!
I have since messaged via Facebook and received some communications and again stating on 6/03/2026 that a replacement will be dispatched within priority shipping.
I write this review on 11/03/2026 quite frankly dumbfounded. It’s been nearly 7 weeks and im still without my item.
I simply cannot fathom how a simple warranty exchange can be conducted (or not) in this manner.
If you have purchased from Angling Direct pray you do not need to use their “claimline” service…….it’s just not fit for purpose.
Worst customer service I’ve come across
After only two fishing trips, the item has developed a broken zip and a misaligned zip, rendering it unfit for purpose. My attempts to resolve this have been met with total inconsistency:
Store Visit (Crewe): Staff were helpful and submitted Claimlane Request #1565573. I was told I would receive a response in 1–5 business days.
Email Follow-up: After 5 days, Customer Services told me to deal with the store.
Store Return: The store then claimed it was an "online query" and returned the faulty bag to me.
Telephone Call (9th March): I spoke to Michael, who blamed a "new system" for the confusion and promised a callback that same day. That callback never happened.

I went to one of my local stores today which was the Sutton in Ashfield one and Mick who was there helped me no end with my pole set up no end. He is so knowledgeable and polite.

Sooo ... here's a tale of orders placed and items not delivered ... and an officious dismissive and completely unsympathetic response from Angling Direct... I ordered two Savage Gear lure rods and a Westin jacket ... I buy a lot of fishing tackle ... whilst looking through some orders to work out where I'd ordered some Westin pike floats from (which had leaked) I came across an invoice for the savage gear rods and Westin Jacket ... but then realised I'd never actually received the jacket ... no bother I thought I'll let them know and ask them to check whether it was delivered ... first of all I got a bot response ... who then asked if I wanted a human to respond .... of course I did ... this was responded to by Gary from Angling Direct who in a nutshell said yep it was delivered ... no we don't have any proof ... you should have notified us within 14 days ... so as it's more than that tough and referred me to their terms of sale ... effectively screw you we have your money and we really couldn't give a toss ... completely dismissive ... I responded asking for more and he just referred my to their terms of sale ... so Gary I'm exercising my right to tell as many people as I can what totally arrogant dismissive and overall rubbish after service Angling Direct provides ...hope you enjoy the read ... thanks Mike

What a completely inept company. They've completely messed up 2 of my 4 orders. There will not be a 5th. Don't waste your time.

As a disabled pensioner (Brain Injury) I was a little worried about ordering on line so to make sure I did everything correctly I called Angling Direct and could not have received better service.
After a short chat I was able to resolve my query and got my items in post.
Top notch customer service.
Do not buy gift vouchers
Do not buy gift vouchers! Brought one for a birthday in December and a separate one as a Christmas present. Only one turned up and no refund was ever offered for the missing vouchers. Would have been a life long customer if they had done the right thing had they swallowed their mistake and offered a refund. Won't ever shop there again as a result. Utterly piss poor customer service and a complete scam.
Rod bag
Ordered a rod bag, when delivered it wasn’t as big as I had expected. Spoke with Jason, explained the issue requesting an exchange for the larger model. Posted the first one back, replacement received the day after. First class service.
Advanta Twin Tip Specimen Rod
For just under the £50 mark, this is a lovely rod! Build quality & finish are excellent & it’s a great looking rod. I’ve not yet used the rod in anger, but it feels very light & well-balanced in the hand & pairs very comfortably with the Daiwa Ninja 3000a I bought at the same time to use with it. It’s also supplied in a decent quality rod bag, which seems to be largely a thing of the past these days! I think this rod represents outstanding value for money given the versatility of the package with 2 tip sections & three push-in quivers. I have a couple of other Advanta rods both of which I’ve been very happy with & this is no exception. Delivery was also very prompt & the item well packed. Top marks AD, a cracking bit of kit for the money!

I ordered a piece of equipment that ended up going out of stock so I contacted customer services and a lovely lady named Nathalie delt with my issue so brilliantly and sent me out an aternative as soon as the issue was identified.

I phoned the Croydon shop on the 26/2/26 to ask if they had a Ridgemonkey boat in stock explained the model I wanted
They confirmed they had one in stock
I drove for 45 mins to pick it up only to be told they havnt got one in stock
in fact they never had the model
I wanted too lazy to check that’s all I can think waste of my time and poor service will not using angling direct again

I purchased an item in store some 20 miles from my home. Unfortunately I found it to be unsuitable for my requirements. I did a Google search angling direct returns and it immediately came up. Unwanted goods can be exchanged/refunded it posted to their address in Norfolk. I followed the instructions and sent it recorded delivery at some considerable cost. A few days later it was returned to me with a note saying it must be returned to the store instead.
So I spoke to their MD who couldn’t seem to understand that their website should simply include a statement to say only online purchases could be posted to Norfolk and that all shop bought items must be returned to the store.
It would have saved me time and the considerable expense of having posted it. His attitude was rude and at times condescending, implying that I should have realised it . I shall be staying well clear of them in future!
