5 star service using angling direct’s warranty system. Contacted them regarding a spare part I was looking for from Drennan for a landing net handle I’d purchased from AD.
Cameron from AD replied the next day. He contacted Drennan, had a reply and updated me on drennan’s response all within hours.
Drennan sending part direct. I bought the handle 5 years ago but with my AD order number it wasn’t an issue.
Great system, fantastic customer service. Well done AD👍

Placed an order and made payment. I waited in on the day they advised my package would be delivered. No delivery only to receive an email saying delivery successful. I checked with all neighbours and AD sent me the proof of delivery. No one at the location knew anything about it.
Once I contacted AD they advised they would speak with their courier. Despite further emails from myself I have had no reply’s.
Very poor service on a £200 purchase
I’m sure Martyn Page and Steve Crowe wouldn’t expect this from their brand

Staff in the Manchester store were very rude and unhelpful. Not good customer service at all. Will not be visiting or ordering from this company ever again. Left us very upset and displeased.
Delivery and customer service
I ordered a rod as a xmas present. When it arrived DX had said they'd left it with a neighbour, they had in fact left it laying in the rain in my front garden and the box was soaked and falling to pieces. It was a present so I wanted the box to wrap it up nicely. The rod bag also had a rip in it. I'd ordered a float rod instead of a feeder so I needed to send it back anyway. I phoned numerous times but was warned each time that the phone would cut off after 30 mins...which it did and that was the exact time I reached number 1 in the queue. I ended up ordering the feeder rod and felt confident I'd get the float rod eventually sorted out. After numerous emails I eventually gave up and most of the time it wasn't a human I was talking to. The rods are both good quality but customer services seriously need sorting out. Won't buy again
Poor Stock system
I’ve been a customer of Angling direct for many years now but they have obviously changed something to do with their stock process as the last 3 times I have placed an order, at least 1 item is missing and doesn’t show up for a couple of weeks despite me paying for premium delivery! This time I ordered 2 new sea fishing rods, line and some swivels etc. Everything arrived on time except the rods which still haven’t come. I now can’t go sea fishing in my time off at Christmas!

I was on hold for 30 mins expecting a cut off as I got to no1 in the queue. It didn't happen thankfully. I spoke to Jason who couldn't have been more helpful. My parcel had been scanned into DX on the 18/12 and appears to still be there. I decided to rebuy and do a click and collect locally. He sorted all this out for me and then arranged a gift voucher for my troubles. Great customer service. Thank you
Item saying delivered no item…
Item saying delivered no item delivered, I have tried calling customer services over 20+ times since 11th December as soon as I get to number 1 it hits 30mins on the phone and I get cut off. I have emailed numerous amounts of time with still no reply! This was a Christmas present which wasn't cheap. Customer services needs to be reviewed, I will not order again,
Totally unreliable
3 days before Christmas I phoned to chase up my incredibly overdue order to be told it was out of stock! No emails to tell me - lucky I phoned.
Excellent service, easily resolved problem caused by their shipper
Ordered several items for my grandson's Christmas present.
They dispatched the items promptly but the shipper did not deliver and then refused to give any help.
Contacted Angling Direct to report the problem, who were excellent and immediately sent replacements, which arrived on time.
I placed an order on 17 December and…
I placed an order on 17 December and paid £6.99 for priority delivery as this was a Christmas gift. After hearing nothing, I had to chase the order myself, only to then be told the item was not actually in stock.
There was no proactive communication from the company to let me know this — I only found out because I queried the delay. Despite taking payment (including priority delivery), they were happy to let the order sit knowing it could not be fulfilled.
I was then advised that a refund would be issued, including the priority delivery charge, and told to “check with my bank” . This is not acceptable — passing responsibility to the bank does not excuse delayed refunds.
To add insult to injury, the email response thanked me for my order, despite the fact the item was never dispatched and Christmas was missed entirely.
Reading other reviews, it’s clear this is not an isolated issue — poor stock control.
Imagine if this was a family on a tight budget who had saved for one special gift — the impact would be far worse.
I would strongly advise against ordering during busy periods, and would not recommend this company based on my experience.

It's a long one
It's a long one. Bought a ridge monkey powerbank from Angling Direct online. Took 9 days to arrive. Unpacked it, put it in charge and it showed 75 charge. Took it off charge and tested it with charging and S21 Galaxy. Nothing happened. Put it on charge again and 3 of 4 lights lit indicating 75% charge still. Left it on charge and connected phone. Phone started being charged. Unplugged powerbank from charging and phone stopped charging.
Emailed Angling Direct customer support, slow response. They asked for a video or photo of problem. 30 second video to show fault won't attach to email (file size too big). A photo wouldn't prove anything in this case more. Took it to Royal Mail to send back. Public can't send lithium batteries by post apparently , a fire risk.
What really shocks me is the response when I first emailed about the problem. No effort to say "here's a returns label, send it back and we'll investigate". Instead I have to prove I'm telling the truth. No other online retailer does this. It's bizarre.
Only option is to drive to nearest Angling Direct shop and hand it over, not for a refund, that would be asking too much, but so they can send it to web returns. The shop won't give any proof that I handed the item in to them though
So, final thoughts, never shop online with Angling Direct (Norwich), and probably have to accept I might have lost £89.

No Delivery and no contact from Angling Direct.…
I ordered a gift from Angling Direct last Saturday 13 December 2025 and paid for Priority Delivery. The order has not arrived (19 December) despite 4 emails to Angling Direct and the delivery company DX Direct. I cannot give my Christmas gift to my friend as I don’t have it. Angling Direct have lied and have fraudulently taken money from me for a service they can’t deliver. They have failed at every turn and should not be allowed to continue trading.

Birthday present was a NO show!!!
Ordered item for child's birthday. Item didn't arrive, courier company couldn't help. Spent 3 hours in total on hold to customer services. Will not be purchasing again from the company.
Terrible shop
Terrible shop. I ordered 3 items online and paid for the express delivery guaranteed by Wednesday. 2 items. (Bed and cart) arrived on the Thursday and Friday and the bivvy (£300) was not delivered at all. I needed the Bivvy for the weekend so I went to the shop to purchase one and emailed Angling Direct for a refund on the undelivered item which I was told I will get a store credit note. I refused the credit note and still received one in the post the following week which I will not accept. I have taken this further and am waiting for a response from the Ombudsman. Avoid this shop
Top notch customer servie
I had ordered the omc fc spin rod and reel combo for our son for a Christmas present, unfortunately the reel turned up damaged, I had emailed them late evening, spoke to the automated email assist, and by 9 am the following day someone had acknowledged it, was very apologetic and has another one sent out, which is fantastic customer service both for speed and helpfulness to resolve an issue.
