Don’t bother
Seemed to be a great range of products, Ordered an in stock rod for my son on the 17th of November as a Christmas present. Delivery was supposed to be priority but after 10 days nothing. Enquired as to delivery and received a very snippy email to say 10-15days due to Black Friday. This period elapsed and heard nothing so again asked for an update as if having to order a replacement before Christmas needed to know. Several days later email to say they have issued a refund. Poor communication, poor resolution. Would advise use smaller companies who are invested in their client like Birds Tackle, great service and took the time to explain my options. Would not go back to angling direct.
Terrible awful shocking
Terrible online experience avoid ordering!!! Courier service shockingly awful..9 separate occasions they claimed to be unable to deliver even though someone was at home each time and item still not delivered..no refund or replacement item NO WAY WILL I USE ANGLING DIRECT AGAIN
Excellent Service from Harry
I visited the Leeds store today and was welcomed into the store by Harry. I told Harry I wanted some clothing and a chair and he took time to show me various options and go through which ones he recommended for my purposes. Very friendly and helpful, and made it worth the trip down to Leeds. I came away with a three piece camo suit, a Korum Supa Delux II chair and some boots.
Customer Support
Had a pricing problem ordering online. Mailed customer services, Jason, and after some clarification was advised to call and place order on telephone. This worked well and problem sorted. Also a shout out for the support on the telephone when placing the order. Was a long wait to be answered but possibly due to Xmas rush.
Terrible delivery services
Prices are competitive and a good selection of stock. But every time they send my order using DX it doesn’t arrive when it should/stated. I paid 9.99 for the AD+ which includes premium free postage. I was told delivery was yesterday but it didn’t arrive. No update today and still not arrived.

still not delivered , tried to contact them . silly phone system cant wait for over 30 mins for a response. asked for refund still not arrived . i emailed hopefully i can come back to this review with good news .but doubtful. i hade to go and purchase my sons fishing rods and reels from a shop in the town so my son is not dissapointed at christmas , still waiting for a refund . very poor now paid refund. . We were returning an item ordered over the Internet to the Peterborough store and had trouble finding the order number or any details the guys behind the counter we patient,helpful and kind.
And very knowledgeable when we needed help on what a newbie Angler needs to get started.
SALE items aren't necessarily sale items!
We went to purchase 2 x Century C2 minima rods at £399 each, when we when to checkout, it increases them to £550 each. I called Angling Direct and it was acknowledged it was an issue but they wouldn't honour what THEY had been advertising. Honestly, the service is horrendous and not for the first time.
Horrendous customer service
Horrendous customer service. Ordered items as a Christmas gift and they still haven’t been received 3 weeks later and no email updates.
Contacted angling direct after 2 weeks, after spending an hour on hold, to inform them of the situation. I was told my products would be dispatched on the Monday and it’s now Thursday and still not received any updates. I will not be using them in future. The exact same thing happened around Christmas last year so you’d think they’d put something in place to ensure it doesn’t keep happening.

AD+ Member Expected a Replacement, Got Policy Over Common Sense
I recently placed an order with Angling Direct and deliberately added extra items just to reach the £25 free delivery threshold, as the floats I needed were inexpensive but time-sensitive. Unfortunately, one of the floats arrived badly damaged. It was packed inside a hard tube, so the damage clearly occurred before dispatch.
I expected a simple replacement for a £2.50 float. Instead, support processed a refund without asking and then told me they could not replace it unless I placed another £25 order or paid delivery for a single float. In other words, I was expected to spend more money with them to fix an issue they caused.
The whole interaction felt inflexible and dismissive. A straightforward replacement would have resolved the problem, yet I was pushed into a policy loop that made no sense for such a low-value item. After paying for AD+ and choosing to spend more with them to hit their free delivery requirement, this was disappointing.
I will be buying my tackle elsewhere in future unless their customer service approach changes.

I bought 2 Nash reels and one was faulty and the instructions was for a completely different reel and I then discovered they are not made by Nash but Sonic, I was asked to provide lots of information and photos and to send them back, which I did. I was promised a refund but over two Months later I am still no further forward.
Avoid at all costs, no customer support
Placed an order only for part of it to disappear with DX Freight. A week later the freight company have confirmed that they don't have this parcel and advise you to speak to Angling Direct.
Emails sent to them last week go unanswered, and they seemingly don't have anyone answering their calls. You just end up on hold in a queue where you are cut off when your finally next in line to try and get some assistance.
Now i've just got the small problem of trying to get my money back.
Lesson learned, avoid these at all costs and support your local independent tackle shop.
Angling Direct Zero Customer Service or Help
Placed an order, paid with Pay PAL immediately. NO confirmation email recieved from Angling Direct. Left it 24 hours, still no order confirmation from AD.
I contacted Angling Direct who just stated no order received, but Can I send pay PAL proof, transaction etc. I did this, no reply from AD.
5 emails later still NO replies or resolution offered. So where has my money gone, it clearly states AD on the pay pal trail.
AD Customer Service ZERO, will never use again.

Dealing with your C/S staff Jason James and Michael about my granddaughter’s Christmas present, order no. 520688650 placed on 25 November, all three have been helpful. All three lads have tried their best to kick your courier company DX into some sort of shape. DX are an absolute shower of the proverbial. We paid for extra for an expedited delivery which has clearly been a waste of time and money. The whole point of paying extra for a better delivery is surely to make sure the parcel arrives on time?
Please make sure your three lads James Jason and Michael get a Pat on the back and a big well done for trying to get the delivery sorted while battling against incompetent couriers. Please praise these lads, they do you credit but please make sure my granddaughters present arrives on time for Christmas!
Poor labeling of product on Website and poor service with issues it caused
I placed my first order with Angling Direct, for a Abu Garcia Max Spinning rod, I also paid for Priority shipping on future orders. The rod arrived on time, on opening the packing i was really pleased with the look and feel of the rod, but the handle for the reel is on the left side so I wanted to move it over to the right side like i have done with many of my reels, however i couldn't do it. After a frustrating 20 mins i rang Waltham Cross branch where a very kind person said they would check, after a short time on hold, i was told that if I bring the reel in they could fix or replace it. This wasn't an option for me as I bought it on-line due to distance, they then gave me the head office number to ring. On getting throught to head office another person as to put me on hold while they checked, I was then informed that the reel is a left-handed reel only. I explained this is not well advertised on the website and I wanted to send the items back, now my only opiton is at my expense is to send the order back as the goods not fit for purpose were delivered on time and I would be responsible for the cost of return. Scammed!
Ordered nearly two weeks ago, twice the delivery has been out on the DX van and twice the driver has decided he can’t be bothered to deliver, why use DX? Today was allegedly a “redelivery attempt” nonsense! I have been in all day on the days they have said they are going to deliver and nobody has bothered their backside to try and deliver my parcel.
Tried yesterday to contact angling direct customer services, 40 minutes each attempt and both of the attempts were cut off as I reached the top of the queue, have tried emailing support and had no response! I will be raising a dispute with my bank as these jokers are clearly scammers!
