I'd give negative stars if it was possible. STAY AWAY FROM HANDSHAKE AI. They are actively stealing wages and I'm out of well over $1,000! The Community Advisors know no information, knowingly spread misinformation constantly, and are extremely rude to hourly workers and they fire unsuspecting fellows who rightfully complain about stolen wages. Instead of properly supporting the workers they already have, they just hire new ones who are unaware of their deeply illegal practices, and steal their wages too.

Spent more than 20 unpaid hours doing training activities with too-frequent, poor communication from multiple Handshake reps of unknown role and rank and constant confusing disruption due to projects being put on pause with no clear organizational scheme as to what that means or affects, and moving goal posts for the requirements to complete the unpaid training period. They offered to give me the $400 sign-on bonus anyway and I was so soured on the experience that I didn't even want to go to the trouble of co-ordinating that with them. Imagine being given multiple sources of only partially overlapping and somewhat conflicting training materials, some are necessary, some aren't, maybe depending on when you started, and by the way project mongoose is paused for science and math, project chickenhawk is a go for lawyers, practice taskers for some subjects have to take an exam now unless you already started tasking, and all of that changes daily while we take 3-5 days to review your submissions. If they get to that in time and the submissions are "good enough" you might get to start doing paid work and get a sign-on bonus, but good luck getting that done before the whole project is paused.

They don’t pay you what they say they will. Stay FAR away from this platform. Their entire platform barely works, and feels like a vibe coded mess. Horrific support and my god a lot of the workers are insufferable.

This company is scamming people. Over half my pay is missing for 2 weeks in a row. My children depend on me to keep food on the table. There is a special place in hell for people like this.

Two weeks in a row, I had my hours retroactively cut in half, was told to file a dispute, manually track my hours on my end, and keep working.

They use a second hidden timer to calculate "Active Time" and do not tell you until after pay day.

I worked on several projects on the Handshake platform, and everything went reasonably well until the evaluation process for my completed tasks ceased to be transparent—at which point the administration began brazenly lying to me regarding my payouts. Ultimately, Handshake ended up owing me money—yet they continue to offer new projects, for which the required training is provided free of charge (only for it to turn out later that there are no actual tasks to perform). They are scammers!

Endless technical issues (on their part), confusing and conflicting guidelines, endless chaos. AND, I was booted from the project I was working on while I was literally in the middle of working, and they have withheld thousands of dollars of money I earned.

Great for part time work to make extra cash when in college. Never had any issues with pay and they were very transparent about what was going on. Quick replies via customer service, usually within 24 hours.

Got scammed out of 60+ hours and bonuses, getting paid for less than half of the work.

Imagine working an absurd amount of hours, hoping they would keep their end of the bargain as they usually do just for them to rug you. Imagine making people watch videos that are unpaid, unpaid assessments that block your access from regular tasking, the huge lack of transparency, gaslighting people that being chosen for priority task is a good thing when they have no say, and finally, paying people based on some unseen timer on another platform by another company. What a scam.

These clowns said they were going to give daily reports from now on and can't even do that the next following day.

Wage theft and gaslighting are all in the hand, they put up in you so far up in you'll wish you stayed unemployed.

Pursuing legal action because of unpaid wages and labor laws

I do not work for this company the pay may look good but this company is not, terrible customer service they will go ahead ban or disable your account to not pay you at all.
And this company also keep your ID and face data and used an AI to see if their another account that looks like you and handshake ai does not state that in their privacy policy or terms of service.
Their customer communication and service is not good at all they have lied to me mutiple times about appeals and it just a terrible company to do work with.

RUN from Handshake AI. Their business model is to falsely accuse workers for violating their contract so they don't need to pay them.
If this happened to you, make sure to file a complaint with US Dept of Labor and take them to court for the money that's rightfully yours.

My account was temporarily suspended, with absolutely no reason given by Handshake. I reached out to Handshake numerous times to try to resolve the issue. They never responded. I'm not sure if Handshake is a real company, or very poorly run and completely disorganized. Either way, I would stay away from Handshake.

Over seven months ago, I tried to sign up for Handshake. Waiting several weeks for a response as to why I could not even sign up was frustrating. Another college I am trying to hire an Intern from recommended Handshake. I tried again to login, open an account, etc. This program will not even accept my ID. This company has no customer service and refuses to help me on the phone. What a waste of time and effort!!!

Truly one of the most unprofessional and terribly-organized companies I've ever had the displeasure of working with. No one seems to have a clue what's going on, Support will tell you different stories every week. Next-to-impossible to get in touch with anyone actually managing the projects. Normally takes weeks for issues to even be acknowledged, and even longer for them to be resolved. They're also known for not paying people they promised to, even after they did the work. Truly a chaotic, incompetent mess of a company. And the worst part is, this review won't even matter, because people are desperate, and they mislead them by offering them "jobs" with high pay, only to rugpull them. Their malpractice will probably only end once there is a massive class action lawsuit (which I heard is already happening), or if they're found to be in violation of US labor laws (which they most likely are).

Our employer account was "temporarily" suspended without explanation. We have tried multiple times over the past several weeks to reach their support team, but we have receive no response. We can tell on our end that our emails have been viewed several times, but we have not been given the courtesy of any reply whatsoever.

The company is good to work with, but most of the top-layer specialists are the worst. They are very rude and unprofessional. They never answer your questions. They look into your eyes, turn away and ignore.

I was recommend to Handshake AI by my school SNHU. I have been mainly using this site to sign up for events and apply for jobs. However, I applied for a the role Handshake AI trainer. The same day I applied my account was banned. I submitted an appeal along with documentation. I received an email saying that my account was still banned and will not be reinstated and they would not explain why. This is unacceptable, I will be deleting my Handshake account and filing a formal complaint against this company. There is something that is not ethical going on.
