A few weeks ago I would have given this app a high rating. It's good for recording walks, telling you how far you've walked and with the added bonus of eventually adding up to enough points to get a voucher, although it did take quite a few weeks, but that was ok. Now it's a different story. They said you could get 5 times as many 'biscuits' if you pay a subscription which initially sounds tempting until you realise that they've actually reduced the daily amount of biscuits from 25 to 5 so you'd just be paying for what you already had. This is pure greed and although I wasn't just using it for the rewards, this has completely put me off using it. Such a shame
Not worth running your phone battery down now it’s reduced the biscuits to 5 from 25 per day, more adverts as well.
Disappointed with the changes and deleted the app
Sadly this app is no longer worth it.
I really enjoyed this app walking my 2 dogs getting 25 biscuits per walk now 5 biscuits per walk absolutely not worth is it would take over 2 months to get close to my voucher for amazon. Sorry you lost me. Not interested in paying or upgrade for pet insurance as I have a very good one. These changes are so disappointing 😞
I’ve been using this app for about a year. It’s been very glitchy often doesn’t record walks so you lose your streak. This was fine whilst it was free but disappointed now they’ve started to charge for the app with no incentives for those customers that helped get the app going in the first place and have put up with all the little glitches along the way. With the free app now, It’s really not worth using it for a five biscuit walk!! .
I have been using Biscuit for a long time now when my friend introduced me to it as I have 2 dogs that I walk. I probably won’t be using it now but obviously still walk my dogs since the launch of having the option to pay £3.99 a month for which I won’t be doing. Reduced the amount of biscuits you earn unless you pay this amount per month of which you earn more. Such a shame as in the beginning it was brilliant a nice little incentive as well but will have to say goodbye to using this app!
I completely agree with all the negative comments. It was such a great app that you are now asked to pay £3.99 a month to get the benefits you had previously for free. You now need to walk your dog every day for over 209 days to earn a £10 M&S voucher. It was great but you’ve now lost me.
Such a shame as it used to be great! Now you only earn 5 biscuits instead of the usual 25 a day. You also have to earn far more biscuits for each reward than previously. Plus adverts have been added and you have to pay extra for a subscription service to earn more. I certainly won’t be using this anymore. It’s now a rubbish app!!
What a shame, company is collecting data and getting revenue from the adverts we are bombarded with, yet they now want to charge a subscription as well. 5 points per dog per walk is not worth my data being used.
A real shame ,I used my points to buy dog treats from Amazon but time to say goodbye.
I previously wrote a glowing review . I am now deleting the app now that they have introduced a subscription and downgraded the number of points I get from the free version. They were already making money out of me by sharing my data and now they want to rip me off too what a shame - it was a fun app to use
I’ve been using Biscuit App to walk my dog for the past 18 months or so and have really enjoyed it. Being able to earn 25 biscuits per walk seemed fair and I was able to build up lots of reward points over this period for treats for both me and my dog. Now, after the introduction of the paid option went live all the loyal users of the free app have had their biscuit points downgraded to 5 per walk - and can only earn between 5 to 35 biscuits a week which is a ridiculous drop! You could earn up to 175 biscuits per week prior to the change. It wouldn’t have been so bad if they had restricted the free app to a maximum of 75 biscuits per week - ie three walks per week rewarded with 25 biscuits per walk. I’m really disappointed and can’t see the point in using this app any longer and am going to cash in my current biscuits for vouchers and then delete the app as for me it’s not worth bothering about for 5 points per walk - I’ll stick with my Apple Watch to track the distances and routes we do together!
I loved this app before the update. I used it everyday for years and I've had £290 worth of vouchers just for walking my dog. Now it's just not worth the time or effort to collect 5 biscuits a day. I'll be keeping the app until I have another 100 biscuits and my last £10 voucher and then I'll be deleting it. Such a shame.
I loved it to begin with but I don’t like the new changes. Now earn 3 biscuits for a walk when it was 25. It hardly seems worth it now.
I don’t want to pay a subscription and I don’t want to change pet insurance so may just delete the app now
We've been using biscuit for a couple of years and it's been fantastic. It really does encourage you to get out and about with your dog. The recent changes are absolutely useless. You now have to pay a monthly fee to gain a decent amount of points but the vouchers are no easier to achieve because you still need the same amount of points 🤷🏻♀️ so it's just not worth it. We're not far off our next voucher and once we've got it, we are deleting the app.
I loved it but the recent changes have made it not worth it
I can't change insurance as we have a lifetime illness no ne else would insure so can't upgrade
A free tracker would nice but I already have a tracker subscription making the rewards etc an utter waste of money for me and I feel it's unfair to an already responsible owner that can't make the changes required
Utterly gutted as it really was fun
After 2 years of building a substantial database by the company, and advertising the app widely, everything changed basically overnight. A paid version of the app was somehow anticipated but not in the way it was launched. I always thought the basic version would stay as it was and a new “premium” will bring additional features and quicker way of earning biscuits for those who are keen to pay for the extras. But that’s not what happened. The basic app has become the chargeable premium and the free one was dragged down to the absolute minimum, not worth tracking walks and the heavy drain on the phone battery.
The transition got me halfway through to earning another voucher so I’m using the app until I reach the point I can make the last exchange. Then I’ll uninstall it. It doesn’t feel like pleasure anymore but a nuisance. My patience is taxed every day seeing how slow the process of collecting points is, and the adverts, popping up with sound on, get on my nerves.
The new format is not worth it. It would take me 240 dog walks to get £10 off deliveroo. The app has gradually changed over the last few months. It used to be brilliant, easy, ad free and of great value. The creators have now gotten greedy and I shall be leaving. By the look of all the recent reviews, I am not the only one. Such a shame, sponsors got loads of extra business from the scheme but I am guessing this will slow down now.
Used to be worth it but now the 25 biscuits reduced to 5 even though you now have to watch adverts is not worth it anymore, time to delete app
Deleting the app, 5 points a walk is not worth it will go back to strava
Such a shame. Its been great whilst it lasted and I always knew the day would come when they would have to go the paid subscription route. Sadly just not worth it now. I reckon I best cash out my banked biscuits before the app disappears cos looking at all the negative reviews since the change it won't be long
Following a recent change by the Biscuit operaters where I now only get a 5 Biscuit reward for each Daily Goal Challenge, instead of 25, it'll now take me about 230 days to accrue enough Biscuits to earn a £10 M&S voucher, where originally it used to take me about 40 days.
Hence, I've stopped using Biscuit to record my dog walks. I don't consider it's worth it.
I could pay £3.99 a month, and with the bonus incentives, it'd take me about two months to earn sufficient Biscuits to get a £10 M&S voucher, but I'd be paying £8 for the privelege.
My dogs insurance is due renewal later this summer, so I'll see how competitive Wagel are in comparison to what I'm quoted by other providers, and if they're good, I'll start using Biscuit again. But for now, I think their recent changes have been to their detriment, and all of the other dog walkers I know that use Biscuit, are following suit.
Plus, one thing I used to like about Biscuit was that there weren't adverts. The first thing that happened when the new format was introduced was I had a Temu advert pop-up.
No thanks!
