Failed delivery experience

I ordered a large item ($3000) for delivery from a Canadian company, required 12 boxes delivered to my door. They went with Canpar, which I flagged early on had been a problem in the last year to deliver to my address. Canpar assured the shipper it would be delivered to the door. The delivery was supposed to be completed on December 16.

On December 29 I called the customer service line directly (live chat NEVER works on their website) and asked for further details on the delay. They told me one of the boxes was in Calgary, and that it should be in Edmonton and delivered by end of the week. They confirmed my address on the line.

In early January, they informed me that they could not deliver to the door due to the fact I lived 10-15 minutes out of the city and in an unserviceable area. I will note all other companies - UPS, FedEx, Canada Post, Dragonfly - even Uber Direct - deliver to the door. Instead, Canpar demanded an alternative address for delivery and would require us to transport our items to our home.

The customer service reps claim it is due to their system only using postal codes, and it cannot identify that we are in a rural part of Alberta. This is unacceptable as (1) the postal code is a rural area, (2) I confirmed our address multiple times on the line with the rep and (3) they confirmed their ability to fulfill the shipment for the shipper.

An absolute terrible service. We had to transport 12 boxes in a truck ourselves - frankly they did not fulfill the service they supposedly offered us or the company and failed to make it right. One month after I finally resolved it myself.

Courier stole the package

Courier ignored delivery instructions. I chose front door (with cameras), but the package was left at the back door and disappeared within an hour.

I am more than confident that the courier simply took a photo and then took the parcel. It is not realistic for a 10 kg package to be stolen in such a quiet neighborhood within one hour.

The company refuses to take responsibility, hiding behind their so-called “proof” — a single photo — instead of addressing obvious courier misconduct.

Uncommunicative, and tardy Delivery Service

This is the worst delivery service I've had the displeasure of being forced to monitor. From unclear feedback about where the package is, to constantly missing delivery dates, wasting my personal time, Canpar is by far the worst postal delivery service I've used.

As we speak, I've had to go through a week, speaking with the shipper to understand what Canpar is even doing.

Horrible, never shows up, delays delays

Horrible.
System shows arriving end of day, multiple days over..never shows up..agent finally responds on a chat and states will come today but still doesn't come.
Most slowest and unreliable carrier.
After multiple emails they reply with they will tell driver and make it a priority. Still doesn't show up. They said look at the tracking. Everyday tracking showing coming today doesn't show up. Took over 2 weeks to arrive. It's one that needs signature so how can someone stay home waiting based on false delivery dates?

Website chat only works sometimes. Then they randomly reply later and close the chat. Chat only accepts your messages randomly, often failing.

Finally got their email for customer service. They reply with useless replies that state will get to it asap. Doesn't help when we need to wait at home and sign.

Honnêtement TRÈS déçu! Pour livraison

Honnêtement TRÈS déçu!!! J’attends mon colis depuis le 24 décembre (et je sais pour les fériés) mais la … sincèrement je ne sais pas qui qui gère le site internet de Canpar mais clairement il a un méchant manque à quelque part de 1 depuis lundi 5 janvier 2025 sa dit sur le tracking que mon colis est en route et jamais reçu rendu au soir je retourne voir et soudainement il est à nouveau à leur entrepôt ont n’est rendu jeudi 8 janvier et toujours RIENNNNN !!! Pourquoi mettre de tracking sur le site quand clairement ont peut pas pentoute se fier a votre « service » t’appelle là-bas c’est un calvers tu doit répéter 50x le même chiffre / lettre et à peine si sa sais quelque chose tu veux savoir le colis en est où tu donne le numéro de suivi et numéro de repérage et les réponse que je reçois : vous allez l’avoir avant la fin de la semaine (euh ok pourquoi mettre alors le suivi du colis qui serait en route) alors que sa l’ai pas pentoute et la personne au téléphone appart te dire dsl dsl dsl à chaque jour c’est la même histoire une modite chance que c’est pas un colis EXTRÊMEMENT urgence bref dernière fois je fesais affaire avec eux je suis donter solide merci !!

I ordered something and it was to be delivered

I ordered something and it was to be delivered on Dec 31….i realize they closed early that day. It is now Jan 8th and I cannot get it delivered. I went 3 times to the depot and no one there. This overly ridiculous….how can this company operate! The dispatch line will not help out they just keep sending a message and nothing!!!
I Highly recommend NOT to use this courier service! Shame on you Canpar you can do better!

Service dégueulasse

Experience horrible ! Certainement ma première et ma dernière avec cette « compagnie » si je peux l’appeler ainsi. J’ai passé une commande en indiquant mon adresse comme tout être humain normal mais je reçois un courriel me disant « adresse introuvable, nouvelle vérification 🤡 ». De surcroît ils ont le culot de me demander d’aller le récupérer dans un point service à l’autre bout de la ville. J’ai rarement vu un service aussi degueulasse.

Failed business model

For a company specializing in distribution, they are failing their primary business model.
The vendor I purchased goods from utilized Canpar to transport my goods. What should have taken 1 day (two days the most) to deliver 300 kms has been 8 days and still not delivered. When traced, the package is sitting in their Etobicoke centre and not moving. Reached out 4 times to customer service and all I'm told is they have placed another note to a Tracer. When asked to speak to someone who can better assist me, I'm simply informed a note has been made to a Tracer and they will get back to me.
This parcel I am waiting on contains a part for getting my heating back on, but have been without heat for over a week because Canpar's failure to deliver my package.
My part has been prepaid with the vendor and I've paid $90 for it to be shipped.
The vendor has also reached out to Canpar, with no responses either.
I see competitor parcel delivery companies daily making deliveries in my neighborhood. I will be sure to advise the vendor about the inexcusable service from Canpar, in hopes they modify their shipping methods so other customers do not experience similar delays.

God awful

God awful. I ordered a couch that was expected to be delivered on December 30th and never arrived. I took time off of work to wait for it because I live in an apartment building and couldn't leave a couch in the lobby for 8 hours. The item never arrived. It was the holidays so I was not surprised by the delay, but I still called to speak with a live agent on the 31st as the package was in a warehouse about 6 hours away from me as per the tracking provided. I was told it would be delivered on Friday January 2nd. Jan. 2nd rolls around and more time was taken off of work. The tracking information had still not updated to reflect any movement, so I called a live agent again. I was now told it was given to an unnamed third party carrier to attempt to expedite my delivery and I could expect it on Monday January 5th. I was not provided any updated shipping information or tracking information with this mysterious third party carrier. And guess what? The package failed to arrive on the 5th as well. Another call to a live agent, another promise that it will be delivered tomorrow. At this point I requested to know who the third party carrier was and if I could be provided tracking info. I was told I'd receive a call that same day with the info - no call happened. Jan. 6th (one week after the delivery date) I called a live agent YET AGAIN and was told at this point that THERE WAS NO THIRD PARTY CARRIER ALL ALONG and they were waiting on the multiple boxes that my item was apparently shipped in. They told me at this point that the company I had ordered from had apparently instructed them to not ship the product until all the boxes had arrived at their facility. Why not tell me this initially???? Why was I told about a third party carrier that did not exist by two different agents? I was told by the live agent at this point that all the boxes had arrived in my city at this point and I could absolutely expect the delivery on the 7th and that there should no longer be a delay since all the boxes were present in my city. The tracking information updated for the first time since December 30th at this point to reflect what I had been told so I was satisfied with that information and took January 7th off of work in anticipation for the delivery. No further updates via the tracking led to suspicion that I had been lied to again so I called YET AGAIN to be told that the item that had been confirmed to be in my city would NOT be delivered on January 7th, as I was told it would be. It was now expected for TOMORROW (Canpar's favourite word!). I cannot imagine why an item that is a week late and currently in my city would be held for an additional 48 hours in a warehouse somewhere instead of being delivered to me as soon as possible. That's 3 days of work lost and 5 phone calls and counting (each time I called I was placed on hold for 30-60 mins btw). This takes the cake as the worst experience I have ever had with a shipping company, I will be avoiding purchasing with any companies that use Canpar as a carrier. To be explicitly lied to several times by a company for no reason (and for those lies to be so easily unraveled by your customers!) is mind boggling. Why not be transparent with your customers? If I had been told when I initially called on December 30th that the package could not be shipped until all the boxes had been received and that I could expect a delay of up to a week, there would be no problems. I cannot even wrap my head around this experience. No integrity, no shame. Do better Canpar, and give me my couch!

I wish I could give Canpar zero stars

I wish I could give Canpar zero stars. This company has got to be hands down the absolute worst I have ever, EVER experienced. I placed an order with Swarovski for a limited edition item. The item was shipped via Canpar. My order hasn’t arrived. The tracking hasn’t updated. I have tried to contact Canpar by phone call. I was on hold for 4hrs. I tried to contact via their live chat with the same outcome.
I am so angry. I feel at a loss as what to do. How can companies like this get away with their abhorrent service ?

Do not use Canpar.

Canpar is a horrible delivery service. Unfortunately I've had to use them after I've made a purchase and seen that canpar was their carrier service. Always late, horrible tracking and good luck lodging a complaint. If I could have given zero stars I would have.

Le colis a été laissé dans la neige, près du bac à poubelle, à 30 pieds de la maison à -15C !! L’avis dit qu’il a été laissé à la porte d’entrée. C’EST FAUX !! PIRE LIVRAISON À VIE !!!!!! Jamais plus je n’accepterai qu’une de mes commandes soit livrée par de tels guignols. De plus, leur site web est pourri !! Ma cote réelle est -10/5 !!

Slow, unreliable, unresponsive

Longest shipping times I’ve ever experienced in Canada. Useless tracking: guaranteed to not come on their estimated date, “out for delivery” status remains unchanged for days. They act as if delivery is an irritating side quest to their main business: accepting payment and sitting around.

Totally destroyed my computer

Shipped a high-value computer and monitors with insurance, fragile handling instructions, and warranty, and Canpar completely failed. The box arrived destroyed, they tried to rewrap it, and they never got my signature. Delivery was a joke — they called last minute, dropped it off, and ignored proper procedure. Fragile items were handled carelessly. Extremely disappointed — would not trust Canpar with valuable shipments. Receive the monitor box and it was damaged as well both monitors destroyed as well. Plugged them in to test and green lines running across horizontally. Second monitor same thing jittering with multicolors with just black screen. Canpar should not be in business. I would give them zero stars. If I could only show picture and videos for you to see.

Their support is very disappointing

Their delivery is always delayed and support is very disappointing,
I'm unsure how they are still doing business.
Bad experience and will never use them again!

Mauvais service

J’ai attendu 1 mois pour avoir ma commande.je pouvais pas la suivre sur mon téléphone la dernière fois que j’ai pu le voir c’était le 10 décembre et il étais à Montréal…et le 2 janvier 2026 il a été livré à la mauvaise adresse
