We had a lovely afternoon with cream tea and my elderly mum absolutely loved it. The staff’s knowledge and stories about the train were brilliant and the whole experience was lovely thank you!

Pleasantly surprised that the track has been extended along the old Carlson line. All volunteers pleasant and welcoming. I last travelled on this track almost 60 yrs ago so a wonderful trip down memory lane in a steam train!! Will try to coordinate our next visit with your catered options. Well done everyone and enjoy the closed season.

We had a great time on our visit. It was very professionally run from check in, through refreshments which were great value, quality and so well presented. It was incredibly busy and every customer was served quickly, calmly and most of all with politeness and respect. The service would put most cafes to shame. The journey up and down the track was filled with the loveliest scenery and we were offered hospitality on board despite the very busy service already going on for the breakfast etc. i have been on many heritage railways but the professionalism and dedication of the volunteers on Churnet VR was outstanding and they should all be so proud of themselves. The last word goes to the star of the show, the beautiful steam train which was a sight and sound to behold. Thank you CVR for a great time.

We were celebrating our mum and dads 60th wedding anniversary, we had a wonderful afternoon, the team of volunteers couldn’t do enough to make sure my dad with his reduced mobility was looked after, the cream tea was lovely, we all had a very special day together, thank you.

Lovely treat for my mother. It booked up fast so we could only get on the evening train. It meant half the journey was in the dark (it was half the price). We will go back and use the day service and make use of some of the stops for lunch and walks
