Brought the coffee and cake experience for My Grandads Birthday he and my Nan loved it! And so did we! Brilliant morning

All the staff were very friendly and kind. The sound, smell and ride of the train cars were magnificent. Will take my grandchildren with me the next time.

It's ok but a bit of a tourist trundle rather than serious railway preservation, very well organised but a bit too corporate. Not really anything to see for a serious railway enthusiast. All felt a bit plodding and tedious, I will admit the weather didn't help.

A very well run operation. Plenty of free parking at Froghall station which has a pleasant little cafe, a shop and toilet facilities to use while you wait for your train. The carriages are very clean and beautifully presented inside with a trolley service available for those not on a special tea/lunch etc outing. The trip is a long one through a variety of scenery and features a notable incline which exercised the engine (steam), its driver’s and fireman’s skills quite noticeably. Altogether a very enjoyable trip at a reasonable price.

Just a bit of nostalgia. Great way to travel. Spud and steam evening. Nice spud.
However, think I'd go in the daytime next time because as it was getting dark couldn't see much out of the window

Absolutely delighted with the experience from the booking process, to the excellent customer service.. lovely, clean station, tea room and cloakrooms..1st class!..I booked for 8 guests on the breakfast train and had requested to place my husband’s ashes into the firebox for his final journey, as was his wish.. our chosen food from the pre-booking was excellent and well presented and we all received exceptional kindness, service and attentiveness from everyone working on board ..we were told when the ashes would be placed into the firebox and allowed to video from our carriage and had a toot, toot on the whistle to mark the moment…they absolutely went above and beyond to make the day extra special and memorable.
Would love to go again.. maybe for the 3 course dinner next time!..

We went on the Coffee and Cake train from Froghall station. We were pleasantly surprised by the distance of the journey. It all seemed so well organised from checking in at the ticket desk to collecting our coffee and cakes.

From the moment we arrived, all of the staff were both very pleasant and helpful. Had a nice snack in the cafe and a nice afternoon tea on the steam train.
Would recommend.

The whole experience was lovely. The staff were welcoming and courteous and nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely relaxing breakfast on board the steam train through beautiful scenery.

We had a wonderful trip on the Churnet Valley to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Everyone was charming, polite as and helpful. The carriage was lovely with nostalgic Tiffany type lamps and was clean and well cared for. The gentleman who served us was very pleasant and the food was tasty. Finally the scenery was lovely. Thank you for making it a special day.
