Lovely day out and experience

Informative commentary (although I wish the PA system had been less intermittent!). Great to hear about future plans and to see all corners of the railway. Unusual loco a bonus. One suggestion, perhaps at the end of the tour give passenger the opportunity to alight at Consall for a visit to the Black Lion (and to walk back to Froghall along the canal towpath).

Very pleasant and helpful staff. An enjoyable meal.

We had a lovely evening. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Food was very tasty if not a bit too much. I just wished the sun had set a lot later as it went dark early.

Had Coffee and cake trip 30.9.26. Thoroughly enjoyable in beautiful surroundings. ALL staff very helpful, polite a nd efficient. The ladies in the tea room very friendly and efficient. Special touch all platform staff stood and waved us off. Can recommend.

It was lovely, peaceful.food was great.

We really enjoyed the trip. I do think, though, that passengers should be able to vacate the train before the next passengers alighted.

What a great experience, a real blast from the past. Nostalgia wrapped into 2 hours.
The evening began with an amazing serving of Fish & Chips then into the train. I really wasn’t expecting a proper steam locomotive. But, there she was. A steam hissing behemoth. All attached to good old fashioned carriages from the 60s & 70s. Proper BR craftsmanship. It took me back to my youth.
Myself, my wife and our dog in our own compartment. Then, off we went. Whistles blowing and steam hissing, trundling down the track.
Ok, enough of the reminiscing…
The good points…
The check in was easy..
The food was lovely..
Well worth the price…
The staff, (Ladies) were very attentive..
On a down side, (There has to be one)… do this experience in the day time. It was 19.00hrs and dark outside. We couldn’t see anything. So, we’ll have to do it again in the day.
All the staff are volunteers, good on them. Thank you.

Our coach group of 49 all remarked what a wonderful day they had on CVR. Staff, food, service, comfort was all brilliant. Many thanks to everyone.

It was a beautiful experience the staff was lovely and the food was very good.

This was our first visit. It was very easy to check in. We had breakfast on the train, which was very nice. The staff were very easy welcoming and helpful. We felt special for a couple of hours.
