After I posted my review
Craftamo did reach out and apologised for the mistake and refunded me the discounted amount.
would this have happened if i didn't write this review I'm not sure.
Everything i said was still true
- they did offer me a discount
- they did still take extra money out of my account without my consent or any form of acknowledgement

I think they should probably email or inform the client they will be taking money for a subscription just so that people are aware and can contact them if they have any issues. I will say when they do contact me they appear to genuinely care and want to resolve any issues but in saying this they recently flagged my review via trust pilot as they feel it contained defamatory content. As mentioned above they still removed money from my account without my consent or knowledge and I have the bank statements to prove this. Nevertheless I have amended my review. I dont think they are fraudulent but they made a grave mistake which cost me alot of money and stress but they have tried their best to remedy this and I am grateful for that.

I WOULD LIKE TO STATE THAT THIS REVIEW IS PURELY A REFLECTION OF CRAFTAMO SERVICE NOT SARAH BURNS. HER KIT IS AMAZING AND WORTH 10 STARS BUT IM HIGHLY DISPLEASED WITH THE SERVICE FROM CRAFTAMO.

I purchased Sarah Burns box subscription kit in January 2025. I paid the 6 month subscription price which at the time was £224.I enjoyed the kit after a few months hence I contacted craftamo requesting to purchase the full kit in April 2025. craftamo kindly obliged and actually said they would give me a small discount which was great so in April 2025, £180 was taken out of my account . I was pleased I had purchased the whole year and could continue with my lessons.
However in July 2025 craftamo then took another £200 from my account without my knowledge which is just plain outrageous.
I was incredibly confused and angry and had now paid £600 for a kit that at most, was priced around £468 ( this was based on the monthly subscription of £39 pm) . I contacted them and they said they would look into it.
This morning I received a refund of £180.
Although they refunded me, they refunded me the discount they had offered me in ApriI . I mean why even bother offering me the discount in the first place and why are you taking out extra money without my consent. I'm incredibly dissapointed that a company that prides itself on customer service would do this. Its absolutely appalling. To add insult to injury I checked the price of the box subscription and its now been reduced to £ 193 for the 6 months meaning I've overpaid by £38. To some people thats not much but as the uk is in a cost of living crisis, £ 38 would help with me and my families costs.

Craftamo have quite literally lied to me and taken from my account . I don't understand why their pricing varies so significantly from month to month and why they think its ok to offer discounts and then take them back and most importantly to literally take money from people without any form of acknowledgement( an email would have helped).
Im highly dissapointed and I hope they do not do this to other people in the future.

To clarify, the duplicate charge was the result of a billing error on our system, not an intentional action. As soon as this was brought to our attention, we issued a refund to correct the mistake. We truly regret that the refund process also caused further confusion around the applied discount. This was not our intention, and we apologize sincerely for the way it came across.

We will also be refunding the remaining amount to ensure your subscription pricing is corrected in full ✅. Our team is actively reviewing our billing process to make sure this does not happen again.

Products are ok, Service and Experience is woeful in Australia

The products are good and Sarah Burns curated excellent boxes with lovely tutorials. Unfortunately the dropshipping format of Craftamo itself has produced a tonne of issues for me. Firstly you can't just buy all 12 boxes for one lot of shipping and shipping to Australia is very expensive with one of the WORST couriers as the only option. I have multiple times now received duplicate products and am still waiting to recieve two boxes that I'm due to get me up to date with the products I should have. The customer service has been frustrating and inadequate. Because it's dropshipping, if your item is returned to the warehouse (due to poor couriers for instance), it will be destroyed which is incredibly wasteful. Wouldn't pay for this experience from Craftamo again.

Craftamo apparently tried to flag my review for harmful or defamatory content but their own response acknowledges my discontent. I am happy to provide evidence of the emails I received and how often I received the incorrect products. I've said nothing untrue in my review.

Best quality materials, friendly and helpful contact

Each month I am already waiting for the Sarah Burns Box. The brushes for gouache inside are the best, I ever found, the colors are brilliant and the paper is strong and doesn't buckle to much. And the lessons with Sarah give great help and ideas even for me as an advanced painter.
Not everything always works perfect with sending and shipping the boxes, but - hey- we all are human beings and shit happens. For me important in these cases: I always get answers and help from the Craftamo guys and finally it works out fine. Therefore the complete five stars from me!!!

Awesome Brushes, Great Service

Brushes I purchased are called Bloom Wedge Brushes. They are really lovely. So good, I have purchased 6 sets. As a learner they are easy to use, can do many different strokes, go heavy or light touch due to the wedge. Made it easier to follow " Let's paint this" videos put up by Jen on Instagram who I follow. Would recommend them to anyone who likes painting florals, leaves, botanics. Also cannot say enough about how helpful Support (Mau) is in helping out with a problem I was having with my account. She was extremely quick and responsive in fixing up my issue. It has been a pleasure purchasing from Craftamo.

I saw an ad for craftamo on Facebook and went to their page and was very impressed with what they had created. I ordered a set of brushes straight away and received them after a while and I am very happy with the brushes. I have thrown away other brushes I have used and now only use these from Craftamo.

Terrible customer service, mediocre products

I gave this experience 1 star only because the paint and brushes I received were good quality. I had to contact customer support multiple times to be able to view the tutorial and they kept sending me messages about paying for the full year in advance, which I was unable to afford. The shipping costs were expensive and I never received my second box at all. Dan contacted me about my experience and I shared my review with him and my review was not accepted because it was not about the product. So clearly they just want to accept positive reviews. I would never order anything from this company again.

Brushes ok, service ABYSMAL

The brushes are ok, they look like they are good quality. However, shipping, which was expensive took forever to arrive. Furthermore, the tracking number they provided did not track the package. It only showed on a map my address and the day the package shipped, but no real information or estimated delivery date.

When contacted customer service to inquire about my package, nobody responded. This is despite the fact their automatic acknowledgement says someone will respond within 24hs. I am still waiting for an explanation for the delayed shipping, even though I contacted them at least twice within the last three weeks.

This company does not give me trust.

Quality brushes beautiful box presentation

Placing and receiving my order was seamless, follow up customer service via email is also great. The Craftamo brushes designed by Liesel are absolutely the best brushes I’ve ever used. They are quality made, hold paint excellently, the point on the round brushes makes them so versatile. The box design is so gorgeous. All in all it has been a wonderful purchase experience. A few reasons why I love Craftomo:

A few reasons why I love Craftomo:
• They have an amazing array of products that are all great quality....and cruelty free!
• They collaborate with well known artists that you may already know and follow, bringing you items/sets that you will only get at Craftomo, and are tested for all of their qualities before you buy them. So you know you're getting quality, not just something they throw their name on.
• The prices are very reasonable, and the sales are even better. I'm always on a budget, and by that I mean I'm broke. I was able to purchase 4 paintbrushes, and could have gotten more, and stayed well within my budget.
• Shipping takes a little longer to get to the US, but the care that they put into their packaging is top notch. None of my brushes were messed up, all of the bristles were still in tact as rhey should have been, and they had them protected enough without being excessive with any unnecessary plastics or packaging items adding to your environmental waste.
• The customer service.....well, that's the best part! They are personable and actually care about your experience. They listen to their customers and it definitely shows!
Give Craftomo a try! You won't regret it!

Craftamo a selling a set of travel…

Craftamo were selling a set of travel watercolour/gouache brushes designed by my favourite artist Sarah Burns Studio. I saw a You Yube video of Sarah's where she demonstrated how to use these brushes, en plein air and who was selling them, Craftamo. I searched on line and added my name to their list
of prospective buyers as they had run out and needed to produce another run. Within a very short time they got in touch and I managed to buy a set. After which they ran out again. They are very popular and Craftamo have done their very best to keep up with the demand. I received my brushes very quickly as their turn around for orders is excellent. They are a great company and I thoroughly recommend them. Their follow up offers and information are very engaging. And I thank them for their excellent service

Unauthorized charges, Incomplete subscription, complicated communications

UPDATE: I have not been charged for another 6 month subscription which I did not authorize nor request nor can I afford at the moment. There is no place in one's account to cancel or update anything except addresses and payments. You have to contact them directly - which, to date, gets you an avalanche of back and forth emails. The website needs severe updating for easier control on the customer's end. If you like the products and wish to invest in this company, I would suggest not keeping a credit card on file after your initial purchase is complete.

Original review: I paid for a 6 month subscription box series from Sarah Burns Studio via Craftamo last August. The cost is $267.99 plus an additional $12.99 per box. Their tracking system is pretty strange as you get charged, are sent a "tracking number" that shows nothing viable you can actually track, and then, 10-14 days later, your package arrives.

For $12.99 a box, it shouldn't take that long. It is difficult to figure out where it originates from. Nonetheless, when I finally got the box, the quality of the materials was good enough, instructions clear...overall, expensive for what you get but you do pay for a guided experience to help your art skills with a favorite artist. It would be far more economical to just buy the materials on your own and use Skillshare or another venue for the learning experience but I thought this would be fun and I could also gift my artsy friend with the holidays coming up (flash forward, box never came I had planned to gift).

My issue is how Craftamo is (not)handling the paid for/missing box ($57.65) - now going on 2 months of just emailing back and forth. UPS/USPS never received it in their system as I already researched with them. The email I was sent stating it was on the way with the tracking number showed canceled. It has been 2 months and all I get are plethora of emails saying "how sorry they are I am frustrated and indeed it was not canceled, we will look into it...but remember, you DID receive Boxes 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6."

It does not take 2 months to resolve a shipping issue. Total to Craftamo: $345.93 ($57.65 per box) which isn't small change for most of us.

Glitches happen but pushing things off while making your customer feel it is their fault, is just bad business. For now, 1 star. If this gets resolved with a refund or they finally send the box, I may upgrade.

Just beware - before you spend a chunk of money on a subscription - this could happen. And it is not that such a shipping glitch could happen (it does and can be resolved in most all cases), it's that you will spend far too much time and effort to resolve it because Craftamo will not.

The tracking system can be quite confusing at times, especially when updates aren’t properly communicated. I understand how this added to your frustration, particularly when you were met with inconclusive updates and the feeling that your concerns were not being adequately addressed. Our aim is always to enhance our customers' experience, and I’m truly sorry that we fell short.

In light of these complications, our team has already initiated a re-shipment of the missing box, and it will be sent to you shortly at no additional cost. My go-to brush set!

I have enjoyed Eric Yi Lin's instructional videos for some time. Recently bought his brush set and they have become my "go-to" brushes ever since, surpassing several more expensive sets. They hold a lot of water and maintain a sharp point. Highly recommended.

Cratamo - Emma Collaboration

I have ordered many Craftamo offerings in the Emma Lafavre collection ( Brush sets, watercolor monthly subscription, & the 12Days box).
In my experience, the cost to content & quality has been wonderful! When I ordered, the shipping time is fairly reasonable…so overall my experience w/ the Craftamo-Emma collaboration has been Excellent.

Satisfaite mais après dédommagment ayant pris du temps

Dédommagement satisfaisant suite à mon litige.
Je modifie donc mon avis mais en laissant mon avais initial plus bas pour la chronologie et historique.
Car je suis satisfaite du dédommagement que j'ai obtenu (un bon d'achat sur une autre commande à hauteur de ce que j'avais dépensé lors de ma précédente commande qui m'avait déçue).
Mais je regrette que la proposition de dédommagement qui m'a été faite a fait suite à mon avis initial sur trustpilot, après mes nombreux mails de plainte restés sans réponse.

Pas du tout satisfaite, litige toujours non résolu !
1/ Frais de port élevés, 2/ délais de livraison longs, et surtout 3/ commande de 2 boites set de pinceaux commandées, 1 boite reçue abimée, 2 pinceaux dans l'autre boite défectueux (bague mal certie sur le manche bois avec alors un large écart entre la bague et le manche bois, et l'autre pinceau des poils abimés).
Après mon 1er mail envoyé avec photo pour faire part de cela (début décembre 2024), renvoi de 2 autres pinceaux de remplacement autres que ceux abimés + avec énormément de retard (reception fin décembre) et sans que je sois tenue informée.
J'ai aussitot renvoyé un mail pour leur dire que ce n'était pas les bons pinceaux. Un seul mail reçu après des relances de ma part pour me dire de patienter... On ne répond jamais également à ma plainte de la boite reçue abimée, malgré ma question répétée à chacun de mes mails.
Résultat : nous sommes le 22 janvier 2025, je n'ai aucune réponse à mes mails de relance, aucune information de leur part, et toujours en attente du remplacement de pinceaux !
Je suis extrêmement mécontente et c'est une très mauvaise expérience !

Ajout au 29/01/25 après réponse de craftamo : Non ce n'est pas vrai mon litige n'est toujours pas réglé ! Pinceaux de remplacement toujours en attente ! Aucune notification d'envoi reçue ! Pas de dédommagement pour la boite reçue abimée...
Des mails envoyés restés sans réponse...
J'attends toujours le service de qualité que craftamo promets.
