Tris was super helpful and was very polite - issue resolved super quick and she even was able to crack a joke about the notoriously boring subject of domains

I was impressed by the quick reply. I didn’t have to wait long for my phone call to be answered. My issue was understood and was fixed for me.

This particular detail was resolved.
However, the overall issues have been created by Domainz over time as a result of various system upgrades and not inform the users (me) about what will change/has changed and the consequences of such changes.24

Swan was amazing at assisting me today, he was understanding of my lack of knowledge about setting up my domain. He was efficient and resolved the issue quickly. Very kind!

I’ve just filed a Police report on advice from my bank.
They auto-renewed without telling me, if I was made aware I would have turned off auto-renew and cancelled domain account.
They took funds fraudulently from my personal bank account attached to an expired credit credit card.

Cancelled my service with them months ago. They have continued to charge my credit card. They now want a cancellation fee. Absolute criminals.
Will not stop until my money has been returned into my account and will not be paying a termination fee. Do not use these crooks. There service was beyond a joke to begin with.

I wish I'd seen these reviews before spending money with them. Unfortunately all the bad reviews are true and my experience was identical. In particular:

1. They make cancelling any service next to impossible and every service is set to autorenew, whether you want it to or not.
2. They bill you for stuff you HAVE cancelled and then send debt collectors after you.
3. Their help desk and tech support (two different things!) are incompetent and glacially slow.
4. Their servers are so slow that you might as well use dialup.
5. Their email does indeed have arbitrary daily (and hourly actually, ask me how I know) limits which are ludicrously low.

They are an awful, awful company to deal with and I am swapping my name registration and hosting elsewhere. This is costing me a lot of time and money but it's worth it to get away from them.

0/10 would not buy again.

What a nightmare. Just don't go there. Email service is patchy at the very best. Their systems arbitarily decide you have exceeded your bandwidth, even though you are paying for unlimited bandwidth and then they make you prove it. Don't they have records? Sometimes you can't login to the dashboard either!
Absolutely the worst experience I have had in 30 years in I.T

This was the worst company I have ever dealt with and they ended up costing my business. I owned my businesd domain for 15 years before I decided to use their services. It had great google ranking. The domain was transfered in order to create a website with their builder setup. After a few years of constant problems getting in touch with them, being billed for things I no longer used and having to cancel credit card as they wouldn't respond, I switched companies. They wouldn't cooperate to transfer my domain to new platform, I then had to wait until it expired before getting it back. The day it expired they sold it off and it is still trying to be auctioned at a premium which I can't afford. My website was on all my marketing material so the cost to replace was enormous, never mind all the clients who have had a harder time finding me.

Absolutely terrible dishonest company. I went to cancel my last domain with them and when I clicked on the "cancel domain" button it automatically renewed the domain I wished to cancel and charged my credit card. So fraudulent. They refused to refund me. When I tried previously to transfer other domains away from there it was a totally miserable experience and they did everything they could to make it as difficult as possible. I am about to do a charge back with my bank they have picked the wrong person to mess with. Do not deal with this company, if you do you are in for a hell ride.

Horrible company to deal with. Kris is beyond useless and I couldn't think of any use for this oxygen thief to do other than be the complete and utter let down working for Domainz.
Complaints are overlooked but excuses are quickly created and used regarding lack of customer care.

They have been the worst company by far that I've ever dealt with. They kept charging my credit card long after I terminated my services. They would not help me transfer my domain to new address before it expired and so waited until domain expired in order to claim it back. The day it was finally released (this is after many calls to them over months) they sold it off at auction on a separate site for $233 NZD. I had to finally change domain names as there is no way I'd pay that money yearly for a site. This has meant I had to change all my business cards and alert customers. I absolutely despise that company.

Appalling service. They keep charging my credit card when they told me my domain was cancelled years ago! Do not use this service.

Hi there, absolutely disgusted with this company. Hosting came up for renewal and I canceled but it would not confirm for me so sent them an email prior to renewal telling them I had cancelled and not to charge my credit card. They charged an expired credit card and have just sent me an email saying I have canceled more than 6 months early so they offering credit of $71.00 only. I am taking this to the commerce commission and anyone else who will listen. This company is fraudulent in their dealings and have pulled out of NZ and are desperate in the measures they are taking to screw people out of money. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AND SPREAD THE WORD. I will be pursuing this for years if it takes me the rest of my life. So absolutely wrong.

Absolutely appalling thieves and liars. I overpaid a bill of theirs by mistake and asked for my money back. They acknowledged I was due the refund and said they would prioritise it six weeks ago. They hang up, they lie and they today sent me an email saying my case was closed due to inactivity. The inactivity is theirs. I have provided all the information requested and they have not taken action.

These people have no qualms about stealing and lying. Deal with them at your own risk. I wish I had read these reviews before having anything to do with them.

My next step is the small claims court. Don't get yourself into this position.

And don't be fooled that you are dealing with a New Zealand company simply because they have a New Zealand address and phone number. You end up with a call centre in the Philippines who claim to be in contact with accounts people in Australia but they can only 'talk' to these people through direct messaging; they can't let you contact the 'Australians'.

Have been with Domainz for a few years. Initially it wasnt bad, in 2016 I remember someone giving me a call following up if we were happy with everything, whether we wanted to change plans or add any services, etc, which was great. Since then however, not sure whether it changed ownership, or they just gave up on the business altogether, but this is not the same organisation as it was back then.
- Horrendously slow speed, we moved to Siteground and with the servers based in Singapore with an exact copy of the site our loading times went down from 5-7 seconds to 1-1.5
- Non-existent support, try give them a call and select the number for support before you sign up. You'll sit there for 10+ minutes, I never ended up talking to anyone, had to email, and each reply takes between 1 and 3 working days.
- This here takes the cake though: when we signed up about 2015 we selected on of the appropriate plans to host our site on, late last year I checked and found our plan was no longer offered, and new plans offered substantially more space for the same price. There were no options to upgrade so after unsuccessfull attempts to call them I emailed asking how do I upgrade to a newer plan, if there is any downtime during the upgrade etc. I was told that they can put me on a new plan but the downtime depends on me as I'd be expected to migrate my site myself. I had to email back and confirm that they expect customers to migrate their own sites while upgrading their hosting plans with the same provider and this was the reply I got: "Yes, The customer is expected to migrate the website/email files to the new hosting platform." I've dealt with many webhosts over the years but this is unheard of.
