Took two and a half hours to recover my mobility scooter and offered no compensation. To leave a disabled person stranded for anything like so long is negligent.

Breakdown cover for bikes!
I was looking for breakdown cover for my e-bike, as I travel considerable distances (between 25-60 miles) per journey, I realised if my bikes motor or battery failed (which they both have in the last 12 months, luckily on both occasions I was under a mile from home) I know you can still pedal the bike but as it weighs between 25-35kg depending on luggage it’s not a easy thing to do.
I would highly recommend getting this cover as if further afield it would pay for it self even on one breakdown, 🤞🏻I won’t need it but it’s very reassuring to know it’s there. Highly recommend.

This is exactly why we launched Cycle Rescue over 30 years ago. Although it was in the days before e-bikes, we didn't think it was fair that drivers could buy breakdown cover, but cyclists couldn't. Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review - we're here if you need us.
DO NOT USE
Wonderful when arranging my cycle insurance but absolutely TERRIBLE after making a claim for theft and not having a receipt for my cycle lock! Turned down after insuring for new for old to a value of £1000 and paying all premiums, I suggest anyone using them take photo evidence WHEN they leave their cycle and have triplicate paperwork and receipts as back up!
TOTALLY DISPREPUTABLE IN MY EXPERIENCE AND DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ANY PRICE

We understand that it’s extremely disappointing to have a claim turned down. However, our cover, and indeed insurance in general, includes basic clauses – one of the most important of which being proof of ownership. It’s something we’re very upfront about, and we try to be as accommodating as possible. For example, there’s no need for triplicate paperwork you mention – just a single receipt of almost any description, or photograph, or even a bank statement showing the sale will do. We’ll consider your review an official complaint, which means the entire claim will be reviewed by our senior management. We will let you know the outcome of the review as soon as we have it.

Easy to renew but a lot of muddle about gaining assistance when I needed it.
When I swapped to a new car, a while ago, I forgot to amend my records. I did not realise this until I needed to use the service. I updated and the transfer was accepted. I was fully paid up and have been a customer for many years and there was no suggestion that the policy would not be effective from the moment I updated. With this apparent assurance I phoned to request a rescue. After a lengthy discussion about where and when I needed my car moved, which was further complicated by some nonsense about my records showing that my vehicle was a bicycle, I was eventually told I could not use the service because of the 24 hour delay. If I had known this at the outset I would not have phoned for help but made alternative arrangements immediately. About an hour after I made the new arrangements an email confirmation came through that my policy was effective immediately and I could have used the service when I requested it. I am extremely disappointed by the muddle.

The following is in reply to your original review, which was subsequently changed: We’ve taken a look at what happened in this case. It appears you added a new car to your policy, and 15 minutes later reported it had broken down. The reason we have a 24-hour ‘buffer’ between adding a new car to policy and the breakdown cover becoming active is to safeguard ourselves against unscrupulous people who wait until a car has broken down before taking out cover or adding a new car to their policy. We acknowledge that very occasionally, people can fall foul of the rule, and through bad luck find themselves in need of assistance very soon after adding a car. In these circumstances, we never leave people stranded and offer a pay-on-use option. According to our records you declined this offer and chose instead to make your own arrangements. We’re sorry you’re disappointed with what’s happened, but no breakdown company could afford to operate without the 24-hour rule.
In reply to your edited review: Our records show the email confirming the addition of your new car was sent instantaneously, together with a copy of the policy wording, which we always encourage our customers to read - not least because it explains the 24-hour rule. Please don't hesitate to call or email us if you would like to discuss all this further.
