Good value bicycle insurance and like to support ethical companies. Like the added bicycle rescue - not had to use let but useful peace of mind!

Just bought the recovery insurance. It is exactly what I was looking for. Extremely clear policy guidance and at a really good price. Hoping I won’t be needing this but better safe than sorry.

My bike got stolen. But luckily I had it insured with ETA - they were amazing. Such brilliant, friendly service. Made it easy to supply evidence, and they paid out within about a week.

Just broke down on my mobility scooter (cold weather battery suck) first time I ever called them out in about 3 yrs.
They called a taxi out! Took about one and a half hours to sort.
Staff are nice, as was the taxi driver.
But I’m capable of calling a disability cab without an annual fee.
I guess it’s insurance against calling taxis out multiple times…if so your scooter needs fixing not just collecting, if not then they’re just a middle man for the occasional taxi call out.
Makes no sense in my instance but the lady on the phone was lovely😍

Easy to get a quote and purchase insurance. I have heard good things about the cycle breakdown aspect and, whilst I hope to never have to use it, it gives peace of mind to have it in place

I've used ETA since 2013. Only had to call on them twice, and each time reinforces the value of a good insurance policy with a company that cares for its clients.

Easy to buy bike rescue cover. Recommended by Audax event, and something I'd been looking for. Easy to purchase, and hopefully I won't need it but do feel easier knowing that the details are now lodged in my phone.

Had difficulty making changes on-line, but a direct e-mail update went easily and quickly.

Breakdown recovery
I had a major breakdown ( the half shaft snapped in two) at a junction on a small country road. I phoned the ETA breakdown service and told them i needed recovery. They pinpointed my exact position and told me that a recovery vehicle would be with me within an hour. They actually arrived in 45 minutes as ETA use the most local service available.I was regularly updated by text as to the recovery vehicles location. When the recovery vehicle arrived everything went very smoothly. My car was taken to the garage that would be doing the repair as it was very close to my home. And i got a lift home with a very cheerful driver in a massive lorry!

I chose ETA for my cycle insurance (2 expensive e-bikes) this year attracted by the inclusion of Cycle Rescue (which I already had) and the no nonsense clarity and fairness of their policy. Taking advantage of a special short time reduction it was a no-brainer, especially seeing as ETA campaigns for ethical transport promoting the views of cyclists in particular. So a good organisation to support.
