I did quite a bit of research before choosing to travel the Lemosho route with Follow Alice. They were absolutely wonderful, from the organization of the trip, answering my endless questions on through the hike itself. They had so many resources that I felt confident about what to bring, how to prepare and what to expect. I can’t say enough good things about our lead guide, William Bwenje. He was so knowledgeable and helpful throughout. He made sure that we stayed safe and happy. He also told stories that were entertaining, but also shared information about wildlife, culture and life in this part of Tanzania. I had heard before leaving for this trip that others had less than satisfactory food, so I wasn’t expecting much. But, Hassan, our cook prepared the most delicious, healthy and satisfying meals imaginable. Rama and the others were so friendly and made us feel we were among family. Due to illness, I didn’t summit, but Bwenje organized things so I could descend safely without interfering with the ascent of the other travelers. I would definitely travel with Follow Alice again!

I went to Lemosho Route with Follow Alice and I couldn' t choose better. They literally follow you step by step, telling you all you need to know. They care a lot about safety, they are precise and organize everything, every member of the team was polite, well prepared and they work as a team so that every single moment they take care of you. I would definitely recommend Follow Alice if you want to get on top of Kilimanjaro.

I chose to do the Norther Circuit with Follow Alice and fell in love, not only with the mountain but with the people.

The 9 day Norther Circuit in December-January was perfect - yes, for the acclimatization but actually I enjoyed enormously the beauty of a non-crowded, pristine landscape and nature. I'm a solo traveler, fit but not an experienced or technical climber. The route was very much to my abilities and this gave me the chance to enjoy more the mountain and the people. The crew was incredible - always positive, smile and joyful. Extremely hardworking so also here I'd like to give all of them my thanks. As head guide we climbed with Crossmang - very organized, transparent, patient, professional, sincere even in the harder moments. I very much appreciated his leadership along the way, as well as stories and educational facts, and most of all, the Swahili lessons every afternoon :)

Gideon, Rama, Choosey, Ali, Pascal, Leocadia.. all all of the people with us were special and contributed greatly to a wonderful team and experience.. and reaching a dream :) You would be in good hands, do not worry!

There is enough rest, enough food, enough information for you to just let go and enjoy a unique climb. I would join Follow Alice for other experiences too, without a doubt.

The team was present before, during and after the climb, providing all information (and I'm a bit of a pain..so - much appreciated 😀). I truly enjoyed also the website, full of soso much valuable advice, as well as the YouTube videos.

The 5-day safari with Kazi was a "holiday" gift after the summit :) It was my first safari ever and I am really happy I chose to do it and see Tanzania from a different angle. Kazi was always fun and knowledgeable and really devoted to showing us as much as nature can offer :)

Overall, it was great. Thank you to Justin, Tash and Tine for all the pre-trip help-being so responsive to so many questions, helping the research process go so smoothly. Thank you to Crossmang, Gideon and their great crew for a wonderful 9-day Northern Circuit trek, the latter half of which I was unable to complete due to health complications. I am so appreciative, nonetheless, of the care and thoughtfulness they showed me in helping me descend safely, checking in on me in recovery and Chris including me in the final event once the hike concluded. (I may just need to return sometime and actually make that summit!) The 5-day safari was fabulous. Thanks so much to Kazi for making it so informative and fun - what a learning experience. Follow Alice were absolutely superb, from the organisation before the trip to the support during the trip. The whole team were incredible. Woke up every morning to plenty of smile and laughs. They were so helpful and friendly. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Tine was great to deal with in terms of booking the 7-day Lemosho route. Follow Alice has so many resources that it was easy enough to prepare for the hike. The crew made sure we were well-hydrated and well fed, and they took care of moving our stuff from one camp to the next. At one point, I had help with my daypack on summit day. The lead guide, Tony, and his crew cared about everyone being safe and making it to and from the summit in one piece without any injury. It was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend using Follow Alice. Everything went according to schedule, and Tony gave us comprehensive information about what to expect on certain parts of the hike.

Definitely the best decision to choose Follow Alice for our climb to Kilimanjaro. Since first online contact throught the zoom call and final meeting with Chris and head guide Tony under the mountain. As my friend Peter already said about our issue with lost baggage we probably never reach the top without big help and support from whole your team guys. Thanks a lot for everything it was great time spended with you guys we appreciated. Keep doing it, you doing it well!💪🏻

Choosing Follow Alice was probably the best choice we could have done.
Whole group went well beyond their responsibilities.
Turkish airlines lost our luggage on the way there and they were not able to deliver before our hike started. Follow Alice immediately came with the plan, they borrowed us equipment and managed to pick up our luggage and deliver it to base camp on 4th day. Only because of this we were able to got on the top.
But even without this, all services were top. Food was amazing, porters were friendly and skilled, guides were fun and experienced

Peter our guide and the whole Follow Alice team did a fantastic job showing us the incredible sights of Uganda, organising all the trekking permits, even for my 14 year old daughter to spend 2 days with the gorillas and a day with the chimps. Peter looked out for us all the way and was a walking Oracle about Uganda, it’s history, it’s people and their culture, including finding us somewhere to watch World Cup matches. Thanks for a truly memorable trip.

Uganda is an incredible country. The people are very nice. The landscapes and the immersive experience into the forest and jungle is extraordinary. I recently returned home from a trek in Nepal and have had some time to think back on my experience. Nepal is an amazing place and the people are kind and honest. The culture is rich, diverse, and ancient. I could have sent my whole time there just sightseeing but I was there for trekking.
Due to the normal chaos back home, it would have been extremely difficult to ala carte this trip. Fortunately I choose a company that did it for me and without hassle.
Once I arrived I was greeted in the early hours of the morning by the kind face of Sonam Sherpa, the local facilitator. He squared away anything that arose which allowed me to relax and play the tourist.
As the trek progressed I got to know my guide, Lhakpa Rita Sherpa. I found that he’s deeply familiar with every aspect of the region, has tremendous knowledge of the culture and history, is physically and mentally equipped to deal with adversity, and has the demeanour to make the whole experience a positive one. If there was one aspect of this trip that made it, it would be Lhakpa Rita.

J'ai vécu cette belle experience avec mon fils du 17 jusqu'au 25 septembre pour effectuer la route Lemosho.
J'ai contacté Follow Alice car j'avais constaté que les porteurs et leurs personnels sont respectés (ce n'est pas le cas malheureusement dans toutes les agences).
Le premier contact mail avec Follow Alice fut super car ils repondent tres rapidement a toutes les questions possible. Justin qui fut mon correspondant a été super reactif, encore merci !
Arrivé a l aéroport de Arusha notre navette F.Alice nous a conduit via un super hotel nommé lindrin lodge et le lendemain 17 septembre nous avions le premier briefing.
C'est Christopher (responsable F. Alice) accompagné du guide nommé C.P et un assistant guide nommé Gideon avec qui nous avons fait le premier contact et les derniers details de préparation.
Le lendemain,le 18 septembre le fourgon arrivait avec tous les porteurs et l'aventure commencait vraiment.
Le guide (C. P) et tous les autres membres de l'équipe furent au top par leurs générosité, bienveillance et nous avons été dès le debut en confiance pour vivre huit jours inoubliable.
Au retour avant de rejoindre le lindrin lodge nous avons pu faire une halte a un magasin avec des produits uniquement produit en Tanzanie, ce qui est génial pour tous.
Je ne raconterai pas tout car vous devez le vivre par vous même.
Je dirai simplement que Follow Alice nous a offert un guide, un assistant guide, un cuisinier et des porteurs exceptionnels.
Les repas était divin (encore mille fois merci hassan et à Mamahino), un grand merci à Ali qui etait contament disponible et a nos soins. Merci aux porteurs toujours souriants, grâce a eux tout est possible.
Merci a Innocent qui fut assistant guide pour le pic uhuru.
Si vous avez la chance de faire cette aventure avec cette équipe. 1.Non seulement vous aurez beaucoup de chance d'arriver en haut grace a l experience de C.P, Gideon et Innocent car ils sont tres pro et humainement super.
2.vous aurez un confort materiel(tente, duvet et réfectoire au top)
3.vos repas seront un vrai plaisir et c'est très important avec les conditions difficiles de la montagne.
4.vous vivrez une rencontre avec des tanzaniens qui vous laissera un expérience humaine exceptionnelle.
En partant, faire ce voyage je ne soupçonnais pas vivre autant de belle chose et je me dois de remercier Follow Alice car ils furent les organisateurs exceptionnels de cette aventure.

Climbing Kilimanjaro, 8 days Lemosho route in August 2022. FOLLOW ALICE was amazing. Right from the start. Justin was excellent, everytime I sent an email he replied straight away. Our guides (William, Justice, Wilhad and Trevor) were amazing. All the porters were so friendly and very helpful. The food was amazing, I looked forward for the hot soup every evening 😋. I have nothing negative to say about follow Alice. Fully recommend. Everest Base camp is on my backet list and will definitely use Follow Alice again. Just over a week has passed since I, (75 yo) and my two sons (39 and 42 yo) have returned from our trip to the Roof of Africa – Kilimanjaro. For me, it was a dream and number one item on my bucket list, ever since seeing IMAX film “Kilimanjaro” in 2002. And who best to accompany me than my sons.
After lots of research, training and preparation we set out on our journey to fulfill my dream. We selected to go with Follow Alice for number of reasons. Their web presence is excellent, they have well produced video clips on YouTube and their PDF files available for download are excellent. Right from the start we were assigned a trip manager, Justin van Wyk who was very helpful in every aspect of our trip preparation and completion.
Once we arrived at JRO we were driven to Lindrin Lodge, an oasis of comfort, tranquility and good food with wonderful staff. The following day we set out on our adventure by driving to Lemosho Gate and formally meeting our 18-person crew of 2 guides – Msafiri and Steven, cook Choosie, waiter Rama, personal porters, Clinton being assigned to me, and porters with other functions among them.
Our 8-day Lemosho Route was tough, yet beautiful with its varied landscape types as we progressed slowly higher and higher.
Our final push to the top took just over 7 hours. Once on top and to my amazement without any symptoms of Acute Mountain sickness, we were rewarded with beautiful views of the mountain, glaciers and way, way down towns and villages surrounding the bottom of this magnificent mountain. While taking our pictures my son announced as he pointed at me – “My father, 75 years old, prostate cancer survivor, double hip replacement recipient”, there was a round of cheers and applause from about 30 people on top of the mountain.
I want to give particular thanks to our guides Msafiri and Steven for their expert and patient guidance. They made the whole climb possible, enjoyable and rewarding. Thank you Choosie for excellent, varied and plentiful meals on the mountain – we were constantly amazed at how you managed to produce such wonderful and tasty meals for 8 days. Big thanks to our waiter Rama, always cheerful and helpful.
And finally, huge thanks and admiration to our porters, all wonderful men (and 2 women). They are the true heroes of our Kilimanjaro experience.
In conclusion, we were very happy with the way the whole trip was organized and carried out. We would definitely recommend going with Follow Alice to anyone.

We were with Follow Alice for about a month, through 2 countries and 3 different experiences: the Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route, Serengeti safari and safari across Uganda. The planning and booking process was when I could tell we had made a great decision to travel with Follow Alice. Michael answered my many questions and helped tailor our trip to fit our needs and dates without hesitation. Everything was laid out for us, and we were walked through all the steps we needed to take on our own (visas, etc.). All other aspects of planning were taken care of for us, and really made us feel like we were in good hands. As someone who usually plans our trips, and rarely relies on travel services of any type, I can wholeheartedly say Follow Alice provides an exceptional product and exemplary service.
Planning and prep can only take you so far though, and I am equally impressed by Follow Alice's staffing. Each person we interacted with both from a virtual standpoint and on the ground was magnificent. Everyone was kind, thoughtful, helpful, was well prepared, and made smart adjustments as needed.
On Kilimanjaro, Justice, Jerry, and M'Safuri kept us safe, happy, and the whole crew kept us well fed and well taken care of each day.
During our Tanzanian safari, Karim was absolutely fantastic and led us so well through a packed 5 days. We learned so much and were able to see so much due to his immense knowledge and skill as a guide. We are very thankful for that experience.
We are equally thankful and impressed with Peter, our guide across Uganda. He taught us so much, not only about the plant and wildlife across the country but the history of the country as well. Having the historical backing made each experience more powerful as we knew what it took to get to these points in Ugandas conservation journey.
We are very thankful for our adventure with Follow Alice and felt it was worth every penny. We'll Follow Alice again for sure! Here's hoping they start offering safaris in India (hint, hint)!

We had a wonderful time on the 8 day Lemosho trip with Follow Alice.

Tash and Justin were incredibly well-organized and prompt responders. They did a great job making my travel partner and I feel comfortable in pursuing the trek. I enjoyed their pre-trip zoom calls, their fast/thoughtful responses with tons of options, and their general organization.

When we arrived in Moshi, we were greeted by Chris and Jerome. They had tons of rental gear so we didn't have to buy/bring much of our own, which was really helpful. Would recommend renting daypacks, down jackets, warm pants, etc. if you don't have it.

The entire Follow Alice team was incredible, and we would not have have made it up the mountain without their care and support. Jerome is a phenomenal leader, someone who is thoughtful, kind, and caring. Olaph and Francis were great assistant guides, bringing in energy and leadership. We loved when they sang on summit night as we were trekking in darkness. William was a wonderful host, someone we could rely on for good vibes and care. Peter consistently cooked filling and nutritious meals (it was incredibly how quality of food he was able to create on the food). Finally, I can't say enough good things about the entire porter team. Godbless, Abeid, Evance, Eric, Derek (and the many more that supported us!). They were all phenomenal, carrying an incredible physical and mental load while also doing the hikes at double the pace we were. They always greeted us with welcome smiles and great energy, and our experience was truly enhanced and enriched because of everyone on the team. From initial reach out to summit to descending the mountain, everything was incredibly well organized and thought through.

Hiking Kilimanjaro was one of the hardest things that we've done (physically and mentally). It was only possible because of the Follow Alice team. In fact, I'd argue that the Follow Alice team is what made this experience monumentally fulfilling and enjoyable. Thank you!

We did the 8 day Lemosho route with a group of 5 and we could not be happier! We all summited and it was one of the most memorable experiences of our lives.

We were picked up by Chris and Ruben and taken to the comfortable Lindrin Lodge.

On the day we left for Kili we were greeted by the lead guide Jerome and assistant guides Francis and Olaph. These guys are absolute legends. Jerome is such an amazing leader and he made sure to take care of every single person in the group and also the crew. He was so generous and kind and always put our safety first.

Francis and Olaph, the secondary guides were equally incredible and these guys are exceptional at their jobs. What was really very commendable was that our group had a variety of fitness levels and how easily the guides adapted to accommodate everyone and to help us all the summit together. All three the guides became family and we will cherish the time we had with them.

The porters. Words cannot describe the respect we have for them and how efficient the crew managing all the equipment, our personal toilet, tents and food up the mountain. The porters hiked all the way (in half the time) with us and pitched our tents and prepared everything by the time we got to our daily destination.

Every morning we were woken up by the lovely William who was responsible for all our water needs and serving our food while also having porter duties. A wonderfully friendly and happy human being who made our day, every day.

The food. Peter our chef was incredible. It will be difficult to find food like what we received on the mountain, in most local restaurants, like the food he prepared for us. We had 3 meals every day, made with love and without his valuable contribution we would not have been able to have summited. He catered for our vegetarian friend and everyone loved the food. It really exceeded our expectations.

There are so many more people I’d like to thank on this journey like the dishwasher, our personal porters John and Rama and so many more. We had a great time, made so many memories and a lot of new friends who became family on Kilimanjaro.

Thank you Follow Alice. We will be back.

There are not enough words to express how awesome this company is. We did the 8 day Lemosho route followed by a 5 day Safari. From the beginning Justin was a great resource. Quick to respond, helpful with all our questions, and responsive to all our concerns. Once in Tanzania we stayed at a great hotel (Lindrin Lodge) with the most welcoming staff. On the mountain we had not just a prepared team, but a team that was driven by our success. One example that stands out is, after we summited our waiter Rama was waiting for us, jumping up and down and giving us huge hugs. It didn't feel like a job for them- they really reveled in our triumph.

Our guides Tony and CP were beyond crucial for to our success (please keep them leading climbs!!). They seemed to have a sense of exactly what we needed exactly when we needed it. One thing I wasn't expecting is how much I learned about Tanzania. Tony and CP explained the history, colonization, independence, current affairs, all while supporting us on this incredible journey. We had 28 support staff for our team of 6 and there was no one person I could say a bad word about. You really spend so much time with everyone, and sometimes they see you at your worst. I felt so comfortable the whole time. Once off the mountain we had an awesome safari guide Yona who's energy made you think it was his first trip but whose knowledge was clearly gained through tons of experience. We saw all of big 5 while learning about local tribes and and conservation efforts. I'm already trying to find a way to fit another FollowAlice Adventure into 2023. My only advice would be to bring more cash then you think you need. We didn't realize that some of the hotels only take cash and luckily we were able to find some ATMs on the way!
