Love their app, they have very fast and helpful customer service team, used to have a Cash ISA with them on a very good rate, then switched to another provider when fixed rate period ended, would have stayed with them otherwise, might come back later :)

Delay tactics to keep your money
I have an isa with Chip. I’ve been trying to move it for nearly 2 months and they keep rejecting the transfer. I’m never given the same answer as to why. I think it depends on which way the wind is blowing. When I ask questions I’m not given full answers, they only answer what they want to answer. They have rejected my isa but not told me why. What do I have to do to make it happen. I feel they are deliberately being awkward to hang on to a substantial amount of money. Some of their staff come across as quite rude. I can’t wait to empty everything I have invested with you people.

I completed a ISA transfer form to move money from Chip to Virgin Money , CHIP lied to VIrgin saying they need to contact me to verify the transfer, a complete lie and according to Virgin not usual practice, Chip just lied and now refuse to make the transfer, CHIP are Liars and Cheats one would be mad to invest with them.

Have had no issues at all with Chip in the last couple of years and have only closed my account due to more competitive interest rates elsewhere. Customer service to close account has been very good (you can't close automatically via the app and have to use a combination of chat bot and human chat/ email).

Chip started out rather well with good…
Chip started out rather well with good interest rates, then they all started to fall away. I'm now reaching the end of the road with Chip because i no longer hold any ISAs or Cash Savings with them. Their prize saving account is also rubbish - £10 earned on a £7000 balance. Terrible.
The final straw for me was the delayed sale of an ETF - at the time of me selling it was 7% up, by the time it processed it was 5% down so instead of taking a gain, i ended up with a loss. To make matters worse, it has taken 6 calendar days and counting to fully complete the transaction and get the funds back to my linked current account. 6 days ! Why the huge delay ?
The only reason i stay & havent deleted the App is because i'm waiting my gold EFT investment to recover to break even levels. My best advice to anyone is to forget this useless Fintech company and go with Zopa, where the transactions are much faster & the rates are actually worth the hassle.

Transfers from investment accounts can take several working days depending on settlement times and banking processes, though we understand six days feels far too long when you’re waiting on your money.

True Follow-up
With no prior experience in stocks and shares I joined Chip, who helped me set up my savings.
Recently I found my memory loading and unable to recall steps to change my accounts. I was contacted by a member of staff, set a day and time, I was then talked through all my concerns and my account is back to stable performance.
