Set in 8.5 acres, The Oaks Crematorium is surrounded by beautiful ancient semi-natural woodland and wildflower meadow, providing a picturesque setting for the Crematorium building which has been sensitively designed. As well as creating a space that is relevant for all cultures, ages and beliefs, it provides a tranquil sanctuary for the bereaved, inspired by its natural setting.

A special service at the Oaks
The Oaks is a light and bright space. We wanted this sort of space for my mum’s service. It was lovely to look outside and see flowers and greenery as our mum loved the countryside. The staff were helpful and we were made welcome.

A lovely place in a beautiful setting which made an upsetting time bearable. Much nicer than traditional crematoriums. Everything went like clockwork. Thank you.

This is weird being asked to write a…
This is weird being asked to write a review for a crem. I don’t know what to say. The job was done I guess. I really took more notice of funeral director and celebrant. The room is ok, clean and well set out, although we didn’t have enough seating. The view from the large picture windows is good and nice to see nature to help ground you. The music and slide show was carried out efficiently. I don’t recall any staff speaking to me as funeral director arranged everything. Parking is easy. I was upset to receive a letter a week later referring to the remains of ……., seems insensitive way of expressing. Visited the grounds with a view to placing ashes there. I hated the grounds, so barren and I certainly don’t want him scattered in grass in an area like a paddock. Particularly didn’t like the imitation rocks used for ashes or the benches with drawers so I bought him home. However I recognise this is personal choice but I prefer the grounds at Portchester Crematorium and the way ashes are buried in the ground. However I have no complaints about the day of the funeral and the service.

I have had to go there a couple of times there now and found that is a very smooth and quiet place to have a funeral.

Very professional & a wonderful setting.
I was absolutely delighted with The Oaks crematorium. Of course the setting is delightful & I just loved the large window behind the lecturn which brought so much light into the auditorium & I enjoyed watching the squirrels jumping about outside. If you dare call a funeral a happy occasion I can only say I thoroughly enjoyed my husband’s, everything went so smoothly & professionally. Our Celebrant, Clare was excellent, the music was prepared for us & the organisation discreet & respectful. A very big thank you to the team at The Oaks.

My husbands cremation was dealt with with the highest dignity and the ashes returned to home in a very professional dignified way
This was a very easy experience at a time when everything was so difficult
