Scammers

Scammers. #BoycottHiltonHotels
My experience aligns with every other post listed. They even ran a unapproved charge on my card even though I turned down the offer. Supposedly I am getting a refund but the unprofessionalism of the staff and emails says otherwise.

We were given a connected room at early…

Hilton Vacation Club Sedona Summit -
We were given a connected room at early check-in, but one side was left completely uncleaned. Staff said it would be ready by 4 PM, but even by 5:30 PM, housekeeping had not come at all. The room was still in a dirty state.

This is far below the standard I expect

Hilton Grand vacations Orlando

We stayed at the Hilton Grand vacations off the 192 at Winter Gardens Orlando, formally the Likki Tilki resort. It was excellent from start to finish, the staff were helpful, the location was perfect and spacious.
Our kids loved the pool slides, there were peddle boats to hire too. The apartments are exceptionally good value for money

UNABLE TO BOOK

on July 6, I was staying at the Palmer House in Chicago for a long weekend. I was approached by a salesperson from Hilton Grand Vacations in the lobby of the hotel stating for $249, I can buy 3 nights at a Hilton hotel (gave me a list of hotels throughout the nation) "15 months to use, Open package, No resort Fee, NO BLACKOUT DATES. just have to attend a sales pitch for a timeshare. I thought that was a deal knowing that I paid over $1000 to stay at the Palmer House Hotel for that weekend. I often travel to Chicago and I could use this. I called a month later to book a weekend at the Palmer House (this hotel was listed in the brochure) they were unable to book me for this time. I asked for a weekend in October, Again, unable to book me for this time I requested. I called the Palmer House and there were many rooms available. "NO BLACKOUT DATES???" If they cannot book me for the dates i request, wat makes them think they can book dates I request when and if I buy a timeshare? AVOID THEM!!! They got my money, dont give them your money.

3 1/2 hour sales meeting

Went into a vacation to DC knowing we had to get a sales presentation.
We actually were quite interested in the ownership and were consider it but We NEVER buy on the spot. (after reading the reviews, I am so glad we didn't).
We did get our $200 certificate and the hotel at a discount price but what we went thru may have not been worth it.
I have major back issues and they kept us for 3 1/2 hours.
The first 2 were listening to how this guys loves his ownership and his parents do too, how they go all over the world, how I remind him of his Mom... all the corny BS sales tricks you can hear was lobbed at us.
Then the Fake sites of where he was going to next with his parents and all the intrusive questions.
Now a sale pitch- Just $18,000 and $1800 a year and we get to go to Europe for just airfare.
After 3 hours my back was hurting so bad but I tried to stay a while longer cause my husband wanted to get more info on it. Like I said ,we were really considering it but they never really gave us a good indication of how the program worked.
Finally I just had to leave and told my husband I was calling a cab. They tried to turn him to a manager but he told them he had to go cause I was hurting so bad.
He did however, want that $200 voucher that was promised.
I went back in to tell him the cab was here and heard our sale's rep and the manager making fun us for claiming the voucher. Aso made fun of us like we were trash people. Really???!!!??? Absolutely NO Professionalism here. Which is sad because we stay at Hilton 3-4 times a year and they may have lost us as a client all together now.

Just avoid this company

Just avoid this company! Don’t get sucked into thinking it’s a good deal or market promo as you will absolutely regret it. They try all the tricks in the book.

They are masters of going silent on the phone, redirecting you. Giving out numbers that do not work. Claiming there’s nothing available when there is. Not allowing complaints. The list can go on much further, you get the idea. Just a purely awful company! AVOID like the Bubonic Plague!

Misled by sales, denied fair cancellation, trust broken.

As a 21-year Army veteran and the husband of a public school teacher, my wife and I value honesty, integrity, and transparency. Unfortunately, our experience with Hilton Grand Vacations has been the opposite.

We were told during the sales presentation that our points could be used to book any Hilton hotel, which was critical to our decision. My wife specifically asked about a week in July in Nashua, NH, and the rep showed us availability and said it wouldn’t be an issue. That turned out to be completely false.

We didn’t receive login access until after the 10-day cancellation window expired. Once we finally logged in, we discovered that Hilton hotel stays require a 16:1 conversion rate from HGV points to Hilton Honors points. Our annual allotment barely gets us a few nights at most Hilton hotels—not what we were told or led to believe.

This isn't our first timeshare—we own two others and have never had buyer’s remorse. We understand vacation ownership. What makes this situation unacceptable is the clear misrepresentation and the deliberate delay in providing access until it was too late to cancel.

To make matters worse, Hilton continues to hide behind recorded paperwork, while completely ignoring that the misleading promises happened before the closing session, which wasn’t recorded. We've tried to work with them, but they keep denying any wrongdoing and refuse to cancel the contract.

This feels like a calculated system designed to mislead and trap consumers. We are pursuing formal complaints with the BBB, DBPR, Attorney General, and FTC. We are simply asking for a fair resolution to a situation that should have never happened.

We trusted Hilton to do right by its members. They’ve unfortunately broken that trust.

Condescending and Pushy Sales

Whenever we call to reserve a hilton hotel we are offered to be transferred to another department for a special offer. We are then offered stay packages for a discounted rate if we attend a sales presentation. We previously attended another one in exchange for mideval times in Myrtle Beach. However, our actual experience during the sales presentations are extremely and utterly unprofessional and lack any amount of customer service skills. During the last two presentations we've attended the sales person we were assigned asks us within the first 10 mins if we are purchasing an ownership package, but when we indicate we were offered a special offer to attend they become combative. On this particular presention on May 20, 2025 Dean asked us if we were going to buy today. From then on out he was argumentative and combative whenever we gave a legitimate reason we did not feel financially comfortable enough to make that kind of commitment. He was nice but he responded with rapidfire rebuttals that come across as pushy and desperate. After we came to the end of our road with Dean he went and got his manager Shannon. She was the worst part of the presentation. She introduced herself then instantly asked "So are we buying today?" I responded "No." Her reply to this was sarcastic and condescending. She replied "Wow you're blunt. Do you just like coming to these presentations on our dime and hanging out with us?" I then replied "We are offered specials packages that we accept to attend and purchasing is not required, especially such a large financial commitment of several hundred dollars over 10 years.” We were then told by Dean "I want to make this clear, that since you continue to accept the special offers and come to the presentations without buying, we will not being offering you anymore VIP packages." I equate this to asking someone out on a date who initially declines but you sweeten the deal with taking them to their favorite restuarant. Then during the date which you made good on their favorite restaurant, you ask, “so will you marry me” and when they decline you cut the date short order them an uber and tell you they won't be asking you out again. This is a decpetive and unethical business practice. HGV should stop offering packages in exchange for sales presentations and then being condescending and pushy when the guests decline to purchase a package. Either that or offer them but show some level of customer service skills when people decline to purchase and respond by saying "No problem we really do think you should consider it for xyz reasons but there is no obligation. Here are your gifts as promised and thank you for giving us an opportunity to earn your business.”

My elderly father was taken advantage of by buying this timeshare

I inherited this timeshare from my father. I am so disappointed in the property options and the cost involved. I feel like my father was taken advantage of. He paid a lot of money for this timeshare and thought he was leaving something special to my sister and me but it has been nothing but a hassle. There were more properties a few years ago, now they seem to be disappearing and being replaced with the Great Wolf Lodge, which is VERY expensive and I have no interest in staying at those properties. We were unable to stay at any properties for the past two years and the points were removed from our account. I could not convert them to Hilton Honors points as I was able to in the past.

I called and asked for information on how to sell my timeshare, was told to complete a form, which I did, but I have never received a call or any further information. It is not at all worth the money. A lot of the properties are dated and the customer service is terrible.

This is a scam

I am a Travel Agent and I would NEVER recommend Hilton. I have booked over 20k in reservation and they lied to me about acesse to a package I paid for. Amado And DeAndria both told me that my package covered specific room types. After paying, I was told that those room types were not available in the package. I wasted 2hrs of my day being lied to. I will stick with the Wyndham brand from now on.

Hilton Grand Vacation package is horrendous!!

First of all, we tried to postpone our date because my husband has had traumatic eye surgery this past year and then lost his job. It’s been one financial blow after another. We were in a use it or lose the money completely spot. We decided to change from NY to VA because VA is our home state and would be cheaper for us. They put us in a nasty double tree. This place was disgusting. It included a giant millipede worm thing in the hotel by our room. The air conditioner didn’t work. We asked them to fix it but they didn’t. They don’t have a fan in the hotel either. Our tub was completely clogged and they didn’t fix that either. They charged us $12 a night to park in an empty lot. The parking lot signs also said they were not responsible for stolen items. What are we paying for? Not security! The doors to go out to the pool didn’t seal. There was a huge space between them when they were shut but they were also locked. The other door to the pool went directly to a nasty patch of long grass that you would have to wade through to get to the cement platform. The gym was so small and disgusting. There were only 3 people working out and it was crowded, hot and gross. We just left that area. There were people on our floor that weee knocking on doors late at night. The hotel was clearly empty but they put everyone on the 5 th floor. We checked out early and proceeded to the required presentation. They made us stay for 2 hours even though we told them we couldn’t afford anything since my husband was laid off and we were not interested. They kept saying just one more thing and we could be done and they wouldn’t charge us. The manager came over and acted empathetic about our disgusting hotel and then proceeded to tell the lady we were working with to give us numbers. She knew we weren’t interested so she had skipped it originally. She came back with a clipboard and wrote out scenarios. The fees they want to charge for a time share are horrendous. Even if we had money that is the biggest scam ever. We said no again so another dude came over to “check us out”. He acted like they were giving us free Hilton honors points for our trouble and then said we would owe $1600 today. No thank you! Over 2 hours later we were finally free with zero intention of ever staying at a nasty Hilton again.

WARNING HILTON HOTEL IS THE WORST IN THE INDUSTRY

BUYER BEWARE: HILTON IS RUNNING THE BIGGEST SCAM IN THE HOTEl INDUSTRY. Sadly, I failed to read the endless one-star reviews on this website before getting drawn into their Hilton Grand Vacation scam. For over a year, I have been trying to use a package I regretfully purchased. Finally, I requested reimbursement, and suddenly they had availability, so I booked it. Then I discovered I had to attend a 2-hour timeshare sales scam presentation upon arrival —add to that the hour it took to book the reservation and answer all kinds of questions that were none of their business—OTHERWISE, I would be charged double the price of the already overpriced room at the Hilton Garden Inn. I will never stay at a Hilton property ever again, and I will encourage everyone I know to #BoycottHilton.

Biggest mistake I ever made!!!!

Biggest mistake I ever made!!!!
Not only do they lie but their supervisors lies. They will transfer you around and you’ll never get anywhere. Also…the website that you log into in order to see your account is a JOKE!!! With thousands of IT people in America…they hired the worst team. You’ll never be able to pull up a statement online. I’ve tried to pay off my loan but you will never get to the point of actually getting the transaction to go through. Tried calling to pay over the phone and they want to charge a percentage fee. Run as far away from HGV as you can!!!!! SCAM!!!!!

Don't do it!

Don't do it!! short version - After booking the hilton Stansted they asked if i would speak to HGV. I had time and agreed. Came back with a great offer for NY. BUT, told me i would pay now, but could cancel anytime and could change destination etc, lots of points etc. booked 700+$. Confirmation received, Set up my account, all good. Wanted to make changes, no UK toll free number and no email to request. had to call the US, cost 60$ for 8 minutes. couldn't find my package etc. WHY NO EMAIL contact details 😂. Called UK Customer service who contacted me with US HGV, took good couple of hours all togeather.
Then told the package was non refundable, the package was only refundable for a short time, I explained I only booked it 7 days ago, after some more time they agreed to refund and I should receive in 10 working days. Asked for email confirmation, sorry we do not send confirmations by email.

Yes, they found a new way to take your money

I am an owner at Diamond Resorts, now Hilton Grand Vacations. Like many of the reviews here, I went to a high pressure sales pitch and purchased an ownership. My mistake, but I learned from it and have successfully refused subsequent high pressure ‘owner’s update’ sessions to buy more.
So I’ve lived with my ownership for 8 yrs, and frankly, have stayed at multiple nice places thru my membership. But the problem has always been the huge frustration of very limited availability, unless for example, you want to go to Phoenix in August. And this frustration has always been made worse by being able to book the place I want when I want thru Expedia or even directly thru the resort with cash, but being told it is not available with my points. This is all old news; NOW THEY HAVE COME UP WITH A NEW AND EVEN WORSE SCAM !!!
The new scam is that they have added in a new level of ‘not available with points’, but will be quick to point out to you that “it is available with your points”. However, what you must do is transfer your points into their ‘Destination X-Change’ program, and then book the place for a $190 booking fee. AND THIS APPLIES TO THEIR OWN RESORTS; its not just for access to their ‘partner’ resorts.
HGV and others like them are required by law to maintain a certain percentage of inventory available for persons who have purchased points. They have always worked around this by having lots of availability in Phoenix in August and very little in February. With this new scam, the inventory is still available for points users, something repeated to me 4 times on a recorded line today. But only if you pay them a booking fee. I am surprised it took them so long to find this loop hole in the law. I bet the person who came up with that one earned their ‘Sales Person of the Year Award’.

WHITE COLLAR THIEVES!!!

WHITE COLLAR THIEVES!!!

Since 31st of October 2024 I am asking Hilton Contact Support for a refund or justification of an unauthorized charge of $2,4xx.xx (2,3xx.xx EUR) made to my debit card ending in ***67 on September 15th, 2024 made by Hilton Garden Inn. (case number # 223034023)

And the best answer I got from them is " for any further billing assistance you will have to contact Traveluro.com directly.."

I already paid my stay to Traveluro.com, Traveluro´s charges align with their provided receipt I got, the charge Hilton Garden INN made to my debit card has neither receipt nor justification

THEY DON´T REFUND MY MONEY NOR JUSTIFY THEIR CHARGE TO MY DEBIT CARD.

I claimed the charge to my bank as well, but it appears that the bank system is as corrupt as Hilton and they don´t give me an answer on time neither.

I stayed in at the Hilton Garden Inn New York/Central Park South-Midtown West from September 10th-15th, 2024

What can I do to get my money back?

They ruined my life

If I could give them zero stars I would. Don't ever enter a time share contract with them. They will lie to you. Fail to inform you that you'll be paying over 50% in interest. When you realize how long it'll take to pay the principle amount they'll make another 45k off you in interest. When you try to sell it back they hit you with an abandonment of property. They have you go to a timeshare presentation which is a one on one high pressure meeting where you can say you can't afford it 6 times and they'll still try to sell it to you by lying. Don't associate with Hilton in any way. Predators that prey on people with limited knowledge of time share ownership

I paid a fee which they said was refundable, but when I asked for it to be reunded within the allowable period, as there was no suitable vacation date, they refused and completly ingored the contract. Scammers!

Shameful that this is associated with Hilton brand

HGV Hilton Grand Vacations is a scam

HGV is a total scam. I wish we read review online before purchasing and becoming members. Priperties they presented to us as being part of the program are NOT available now that pur accaounts have been activated and ofcourse they saying we passed the 10 days deadline!!!
We paid in cash thinking we being smart. They lack ethics+ no properties are available no matter what dates we look at+ subpar properties that are not nice at all, run down and old+ horrible customer service.
They represent the whole deal.in a way that sounds way better than it is. This scam should be investigated by US government. They defraud Americans of their hard earned money. Someone needs to help us.
