Avoid – Deeply disappointing experience and poor quality control (Grey 2016 Audi A4 Avant TDI Ultra)
I purchased a manual grey 2016 Audi A4 Avant TDI Ultra from this dealership and immediately discovered severe gearbox issues. The reverse lockout mechanism was completely dysfunctional, the car refused to go into certain gears at all, and changing gear overall was exceptionally stiff and difficult. This was a blatant mechanical fault that anyone carrying out a basic pre-sale inspection or test drive would have found impossible to miss within minutes. In hindsight, the stiffness was noticeable on the test drive, but I naively put it down to not having driven a manual in a while.
Once I got the car home and gave it a proper run, the extent of the defect was undeniable. While the dealership did offer to carry out a repair, I had completely lost confidence in them. If a car leaves their forecourt with such obvious, critical transmission problems, it raises serious questions about what else was overlooked during preparation.
To their credit, they arranged collection of the vehicle and refunded my purchase price, though the money took nearly two weeks to arrive. However, their aftercare communication was essentially non-existent. The moment I brought up consequential losses—such as the over half-tank of diesel I put in and never got to use—I was met with total radio silence.
I have noticed the car has already been relisted for sale; hopefully they have actually rectified the gearbox properly this time. Based on the lack of proper pre-sale checks and poor communication, I cannot recommend this dealership.

We have used horsepower for many years for servicing our cars, so when the time came to replace our car it was the obvious choice to look for a replacement. By chance they had a car that suited our needs that had just arrived, Danny was very helpful, he got the car out and went through all of the features and let us have a test drive. We liked the car so we bought it. We went back a week later to pick it up, it had been valeted we taxed at the showroom. Buying the car was a pleasurable experience with no pressure. The staff at horsepower are friendly and helpful and if there is a problem they will sort it out,

Happy with the service I received here. What really stood out was the transparency. They recorded a video underneath the car, pointing out a few things they’d noticed and explaining what was good and what needed attention.

It was great to actually see what they were talking about rather than just being told about it.

My car broke down on the M25 and could not be repaired in situ. I needed the car to be taken by the AA back to Tonbridge and Horsepower said they would take it. It arrived late on a Friday, they looked at it on Monday and the part was ordered, it arrived on Tuesday and I had my car back on Wednesday. Brilliant service and I was extremely grateful!

I have used Horsepower services twice recently. On both occassions, they were polite and professional. I would be happy to use their services again in the future.
