Sobre ION8
Escrito pela empresa
ION8 is a British drinkware brand based in Dundee. We make leak-proof water bottles, kids' bottles, travel mugs and flasks — designed so a bottle can go in a bag next to a laptop and stay where you put it. Every bottle in the range is leak-proof. It's the thing we design for first.
Primo — one bottle, three lids
Primo is designed to adapt. Every lid fits every Primo bottle, in every size — Urban for the commute, Revive for training, Roam for the outdoors. Change the lid, keep the bottle.
Triple-wall vacuum insulation with an internal copper coating keeps drinks hot or cold for up to 10 hours, and the outside stays dry — no condensation on a desk or in a bag. Primo won a Red Dot Design Award in 2026. From £29.99, with lids sold separately at £12.99.
Official NBA and NFL bottles
Officially licensed team bottles, built to the same standard as the rest of the range. Same leak-proof lid, same wide opening, in team colours.
We also work with MotoGP and the British & Irish Lions.
Bottles for school
Kids' bottles built for the bag they actually live in. Leak-proof, dishwasher safe, and a wide opening so they can be cleaned properly — not just rinsed. Sizes from 350ml.
Matching lunch bags and slings are available alongside the bottles.
Shop kids' bottles · Lunch bags
Spare parts, not replacements
A worn seal shouldn't mean a new bottle. We stock replacement lids, seals, straws and filters for the current range. ION8 is certified carbon neutral across all operations, and holds a German Design Award and a King's Award.
What to know about ION8
Escrito pela empresa
- Leak-proof across the whole range
- Every ION8 bottle, mug and flask is leak-proof. It can go in a bag next to a laptop, a change of clothes or a packed lunch and stay where you put it. It's the thing we design for first.
- Lids, seals and straws sold separately
- A worn seal shouldn't mean a new bottle. We sell replacement lids, seals, straws and filters for the current range, so a bottle can be kept going rather than replaced.
- Hot or cold for hours
- Insulated ION8 bottles use triple-wall vacuum insulation with an internal copper coating. Drinks stay hot or cold for hours, and the outside stays dry — no condensation on a desk or in a bag.
- Bottles for school and lunch bags
- ION8 kids' bottles are built for the bag they actually live in. Leak-proof, dishwasher safe, and a wide opening so they can be cleaned properly. Matching lunch bags and slings are available too.
- One bottle body, three lids
- Primo is our modular range. Every lid fits every Primo bottle in every size, so a straw lid for the commute and a screw top for the weekend work on the same bottle. Lids are sold separately from £12.99.
- Personalised and engraved
- Bottles, travel mugs and flasks can be personalised with a name. These are made to order, so they can't be returned unless faulty.
- Free UK delivery over £40
- UK orders over £40 ship free on Royal Mail Tracked 48, with Tracked 24 available as an upgrade. Europe is free over £60, and the rest of the world over £70.
- Designed in the UK
- ION8 is a British drinkware brand based in Dundee. The Primo range won a Red Dot Design Award in 2026, and ION8 holds a German Design Award from 2024 and a King's Award from 2025.
- Certified carbon neutral
- ION8 is certified carbon neutral across all operations. Products are designed to be reused rather than replaced, which is why spare parts are stocked for the current range.
- Buying from the US
- US customers should order from ion8.com, which carries the core collection and ships domestically. The UK site ships internationally, but shipping costs apply.

I received assistance regarding a kids lunch box that had to be replaced, but unfortunately, the replacement was damaged after its very first use. I contacted them again and requested a refund, which was agreed to. Although the overall product experience was disappointing, I appreciate the assistance provided by Inah and the willingness to resolve the matter by agreeing to the refund. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Hello Ramonah,
We're genuinely sorry the replacement lunch box didn't hold up - that's not the experience we want any family to have, especially after you'd already been in touch once. It's frustrating when something fails right out of the gate, and we completely understand your disappointment.
We're glad the refund was agreed without any back-and-forth, and that you felt supported through the process. Your patience while we worked to put things right means a lot, and we hope this hasn't put you off ION8 completely.
Thank you for giving us the chance to make it right, and for taking the time to share your experience.

Hello Mercedes,
"Money well spent" - and then when the straws weren't quite right, the team sorted it straight away. That's the full experience we want every customer to have: bottles that do exactly what they're meant to, backed by people who fix things fast when needed.
Really pleased the bottles are staying leak-free and that you'd choose ION8 again. Thank you for trusting us!

Great bottles
Great bottles, have four for kids weekend and sport clubs.
We got NFL branded one, sadly one of them the NFL stickers all came off dispute washing them all in the same way, I sent an email in with pictures. Inah at customer support emailed back and got a new one sent out.

Hello Whitney,
Four bottles keeping up with weekend activities and sports clubs - that's ION8 doing exactly what it should. Really pleased the NFL designs caught the kids' eye, and even more so that when the stickers didn't hold up on one of them, Inah stepped in and got a replacement out to you without any fuss.
We'll make sure she knows her work made a difference - getting things sorted quickly when something isn't quite right is what we're here for.
Thank you for sticking with ION8, and for taking the time to share this!

Hello Connor,
Leak-proof bottles that actually stay leak-proof in your football bag - after trying a few that didn't - that's exactly the reassurance you needed. Really pleased the ION8s are holding up match after match, and that the welcome gift landed well too.

Very pleased with the quality of the bottle, perfect for ensuring o drink at least 1lt a day. I didn't get a straw and regretted it having tipped to drink and soaking myself through water eacaping from the airflow hole. I bought a straw separately and it's much better to use.
The only negative is the carry loop which really isn't big enough for a heavy bottle but otherwise brilliant.

Hello Beth,
A litre a day sorted - and then discovering the airflow vent the hard way! We can absolutely picture that moment. Really pleased the bottle's doing its job now you've added a straw, and that the quality's come through for you.
The carry loop feedback is genuinely useful - when a bottle's full, that handle needs to pull its weight (quite literally), and we appreciate you flagging it. We're always listening to how people actually use these day-to-day.
Thanks for taking the time to share the full picture - the good bits and the practical reality. It helps.

Bottle works well, delivery was fine. The only issue is that I keep losing them - I have managed to lose three in the past year. Either they fall out of the side pocket of my backpack or I leave them behind. So I'm about to order my 4th...

Hello Georgina,
Three bottles in a year because they keep going walkabout - that's both a compliment and a very relatable problem! The fact that you're coming back for number four tells us the bottle itself is doing its job perfectly, even if it does have a habit of slipping away when you're not looking.
If the side pocket isn't quite secure enough, the foldable handle might give you an extra attachment option - clip it to a carabiner or strap it inside rather than leaving it loose. That said, we completely understand that sometimes a good bottle just gets left behind in the moment.
Really appreciate you sharing this - and here's hoping number four stays with you a bit longer.

A small let down, but they have spares !
Within a few weeks the silicone plug above the mouthpiece had degraded and the bottle was leaking, I would have given the bottle a 1 star at that point, however you can actually buy all the spares for the bottles without spending an arm and a leg which was brilliant, I'll be buying a couple more bottles and if those dont fail so quickly I'll be adjusting my review to 5 stars.
Has to be said, outside of the initial fail, the bottles are bomb proof and dishwasher safe, very well engineered!

Resposta da ION8
Hello Timothy,
A silicone seal failing within weeks, then discovering you could actually replace it without replacing the entire bottle - that's a frustrating start followed by a genuinely useful discovery. We're sorry the initial seal didn't hold up as it should have; that's not the durability we build for, and we understand the disappointment when something fails that quickly.
The fact that spares are available and affordable matters, but it shouldn't have been needed this soon. Your plan to test a couple more bottles and adjust your review based on how they perform is completely fair - we'd do the same. Outside of that seal issue, we're glad the engineering, impact resistance, and dishwasher performance are proving solid in daily use.
If the new bottles don't hold up as expected, please reach out to us directly via our website contact form, referencing this review - we'll make sure it's looked at properly.

Hello Sarah,
A 3-year-old who can open it himself, loves the dinosaurs, and no leaks so far - that's exactly what you need from a kids' bottle, and we're really pleased it's working so well for your grandson. The lightweight build and one-handed system were designed precisely for little hands like his, so it's brilliant to hear he's managing it confidently already.
Thank you for sharing this - it means a lot.

The order is great
The order is great, we bought one larger bottle for me and a small bottle for my son which are both working fine and easy to clean ☺️
The only thing I would change is that the free bottle is plastic. As a family, we’re trying to move away from plastic - which is why we’ve bought new stainless steel water bottles. So it seems a little counterintuitive to still end up with one, I appreciate it’s a free gift, but it’s not advertised as only being offered plastic.

Hello Rosie,
It's great to hear the bottles are working well for both you and your son - easy to clean and doing exactly what they're meant to do.
Your point about the free bottle being plastic is completely fair, and we really appreciate you raising it. You're right that it feels contradictory when you've deliberately chosen stainless steel to move away from plastic. That's thoughtful feedback, and it's something we'll take back to the team as we look at how we communicate our promotions and what we offer as gifts. The intention is always to add value, but you've highlighted a genuine mismatch between what you were working towards and what landed in the box.
Thank you for taking the time to share this - it's exactly the kind of insight that helps us do better.

Ion8 insulated steel water bottle is…
Ion8 insulated steel water bottle is the best bottle/thermos I ever have. Its shape, its material, its colors, its handle, its cap...every part of it is practical and comfortable. Almost perfect. There is only one issue I have: the bottom of it. There are situations where I need to place it on a glass table or a delicate surface, or perhaps somewhere it could slide off. It would be great to have a silicone base that I could slip onto the bottom of the bottle. That's all.
And thank you for this super stuff.

Hello Zsolt,
An insulated steel bottle that finally gets every detail right - the shape, the materials, the colours, the handle, the cap - it's brilliant to hear you've found that with ION8. "Almost perfect" is high praise, and we genuinely appreciate you taking the time to spell out exactly what's working for you.
Your point about the base is really valuable. We can absolutely see the need for a silicone bottom when you're placing the bottle on glass tables or delicate surfaces, or anywhere it might slide. That's practical feedback we'll make sure reaches our product team - the kind of real-world insight that helps us keep improving what we make.
Thank you for the detailed review, Zsolt, and for the "super stuff" - that made us smile.

Hello Nadia,
A lost silicone seal and our support team came through to get you a replacement - that's exactly the kind of experience we want every customer to have, and we're really glad it worked out so smoothly for you. The automobiles bottle is a favourite with the little ones, so it's lovely to know your child is enjoying it.
Thank you for sharing this, and for trusting ION8.

Love the Modular Design
I only needed to replace a lost seal in a bottle and the fact that iON8 offer modular parts means we have less need for waste when a tiny part goes missing or gets broken. At worst I could still have bought a whole new lid, which again is infinitely better than throwing away an entire bottle due to one small component. These types of product are what we need moving forward.

Hello Alex,
A lost seal, a quick replacement, and an entire bottle saved from the bin - that's exactly the kind of outcome we design for, and it's brilliant to hear the modular system worked for you in practice. You're absolutely right that throwing away a whole bottle over one tiny component makes no sense, and we're genuinely pleased the spare parts approach meant you could keep using yours.
The fact that you could have swapped just the lid if needed rather than the whole unit is precisely the thinking behind how we build ION8 - durability where it counts, and replaceability where it's practical. It's customers like you who remind us why that matters.
Thanks for taking the time to share this, Alex - and for keeping that bottle in use.
