As a landlord, I have been extremely impressed with the service provided by Mandi Thandi (Letting Manager) and her team. John Shepherd Letting Agency in Sutton Coldfield.

From the very beginning, the team demonstrated professionalism, efficiency, and a clear understanding of the local rental market. Communication has been consistently prompt and transparent, and I’m always kept fully informed about tenant matters, maintenance updates, and compliance requirements.

Tenant sourcing has been handled thoroughly, with strong referencing procedures that have resulted in
reliable and responsible tenants. Any maintenance issues are dealt with swiftly and sensibly, ensuring the property is well cared for while keeping costs reasonable. Their knowledge of current legislation and landlord responsibilities in England is particularly reassuring and gives me complete peace of mind.

What truly sets them apart is their proactive approach — they don’t just respond to issues, they anticipate and prevent them. This has made the entire process smooth and stress-free.

Had a really good experience with Kelvin Zakeyo. He was easy to deal with, always quick to reply, and kept things moving without any hassle. He made the whole process way less stressful than I expected.

He was friendly, straightforward, helpful the whole way through. He actually cares about doing a good job and building customer relationships rather than just doing the bare minimum for the job.

I arranged over 1 week ago to have my house valued by John Shepherd Solihull and provided a guide on the expected valuation based on good local knowledge of similar property values and market activity in the local area. I am flabbergasted that, after rearranging various commitments to ensure I am able to be present for the valuation, I received a call from the agent at 4pm the day before our meeting to essentially advise me that the ‘compares’ they have done would likely result in the valuation being significantly apart from my own expectations. When I asked about the compares, the properties used had no relevance to my own. They were not detached houses, different number of bedrooms / bathrooms etc. clearly John Shepherd do not want to take on the listing of my property, nor do they want to actually look at relevant market data and, what’s more, they have no appreciation for anyone else’s time and the logistics in ensuring you can be present for a valuation in the working week. A terrible experience. I strongly advise anyone looking at estate agents in Solihull (seller / buyer / leasing) to avoid at all costs

All the staff but especially Ellie were honest, thoughtful and kept me fully advised throughout my first experience of selling a property. Communication was prompt , returning my calls speedily, and chased up any queries I had. I would them again if I needed to and would highly recommend them to anyone selling a property.

Aarti is amazing she's so helpful and knows alot of the properties which makes it so much easier when talking about certain properties.

Rooms looked good for the price, spacious enough, good enough window view considering the price. I currently pay more money for less space, so can’t wait to change locations. Kelvin was a great tour guide, had good manners and stayed patient despite running into some problems.
