Purchased 3 lamp bulbs from Lampwise…

Purchased 3 lamp bulbs from Lampwise online. When the order arrived one of the bulbs was defective. Company did replace this bulb. Since receiving the order all three bulbs have blown - including the replacement. This has happened over a couple of weeks. Alternative bulbs are working in the lamps without issue!
Contacted customer support to request a refund. The response was disappointing. Told there is no guarantee on filament bulbs. Company claims the replacement as a good will gesture and said there is nothing more they can do. Would have expected new bulbs that cost £30 to have lasted longer than a couple of weeks!! Rubbish customer support.

We did provide a replacement for the problem these days with many fittings coming out as LED or even slightly older fittings not rated to take a 100w light bulb most of the time they blow because of improper use if you install a 100w light bulb in a max rated 60w fitting yes it will blow. Another issue that will cause it to blow is the heat from the light bulb is not being disbanded from the fitting causing it to overheat, but this is inevitably to do with your fitting rating. We have been providing light bulbs for 22 years and this is almost certainly the problem in good faith we sent a replacement, but we can't keep sending you light bulbs to blow. We have sold this light bulb for nearly 2 years without any similar problems. I am sorry you feel this way about our service but like i said we can't be held accountable for improper use.

Brilliant quick personal service and excellent stock

After hunting for ages online and at a good local lighting shop for a replacement shade I found the Lampwise website. They had an out of stock item that was a match which was the first bit of good news - that they stock things no one else, including the big A, have. I emailed to ask when it might be back in stock and got a response within a few hours that they had checked their warehouse and found one the same just not with the same code. Such great personal service particularly when it was for something so small. I ordered and it arrived within a couple of days so again super fast service. They will now be my first port of call for any other lighting needs. I was so impressed.

As outlined in our returns policy, refunds can take up to 10 working days to be processed from the date the return is received back with us. Your return arrived 8 days ago, so it is still within the normal processing timeframe.

Returns are processed in order of arrival and refunds are issued as quickly as possible, but the full 10 working day window is stated to allow for inspection and processing.

If you have not received confirmation of your refund after this period, please contact us by email with your order details and we will be happy to check the status for you.

TOP CLASS CUSTOMER SERVICE

My wife and I would like to thank you and your team at Lampwise for your excellent service.

We visited your store last Saturday with the intention of having a look and most probably buying online as it is generally cheaper. However, we were so impressed with your service and the time you spent with us, that we felt we had to give you the opportunity to supply us.

The light fittings arrived yesterday and the bulbs arrived today. All in all under a week from when we first visited.

That really is excellent customer service! Well done!

Awful customer service in the store

Awful customer service in the store. Tried to over charge, then said she was doing me a favour by price-matching their own website.
Said the shop charges more due to the personal service and advice!
The manager lies about delivery times, said the lights would be ready for pickup 3-10 days, it was in fact 6weeks!
Refused to give refund unless I came back into the shop. The manager argued with me, I’ve never experienced such awful service from a shop.

Shocking service still no item ordered monthes ago

Shocking service. Bought some items that that came with free delivery, only to be told it wasn't free and I owed them £66. As I was unhappy with this they agreed to drop them at my house at some point as I was local but when I chased them having heard nothing for monthes (I did say no rush but come on!) I was met with the rudest lady ever (apparently a manager) who basically made out that I was in the wrong even though they under charged me and then misled me, and said she would call back to resolve (obviously didn't!) she was truly offensive and unrepentant. I eventually paid the £66 when I called them a week later, to be rid of this awful company but still haven't received the goods and today thier phone is dead!! Do yourself a favour and shop elsewhere!!!

Apolygies in regards to the miscommunication with your order, we did receive an order from you that was order on our website. There was a miscommunication when we was told to hold the products for hand delivery as you didn't need these until Christmas period, apolygies if this is incorrect, as I can see on notes of a telephone conversation had with yourself and the sales member at the time.

great experience with this company

great experience with this company! ordered some halogen bulbs from lampwise and they came really quickly, they were packaged really well and safely and used shredded cardboard instead of loads of plastic like other companies do! so was really pleased with that too :) also managed to speak to somebody on the phone very quickly, overall great experience thanks !

Abysmal customer 'service'

I'd emailed them several weeks ago about a Tiffany lamp on their website. Despite them replying that they'd check with the supplier and get back to me they never did. They also didn't respond to my follow up email asking what was going on. This shocking lack of 'service' has both lost them our expensive purchase and those of two friends who have also now bought elsewhere.

Light relief

I ordered online some spotlamp bulbs and they were delivered immediately despite Covid. I found that one of the bulbs was faulty and Lampwise replaced without hesitation immediately and did not require me to return the defective one. My contact was the very helpful and pleasant Nadeem. I will certainly use Lampwise in the future

Excellent, friendly service

Used for the first time after a bad experience using Ryness online, and finding that Lampwise were selling the tubes I needed at a competitive price. Order dispatched very quickly. Replaced one damaged item quickly and without any nonsense as well. Excellent, friendly service. Highly recommended.

Excellent & kind service from an independent retailer!

Lampwise not only provided me with the items I'd been looking for (and were hard to find elsewhere), but gave me some excellent advice that resolved a problem for me too! You'd never get that from mass commercial enterprise. Thank you to the brilliant John at Lampwise!

Problem solved quickly and effectively

Ordered 2 lamps and hit a glitch on the website. Order hadn't processed but PayPal payment had. I made contact via the website explaining what had happened. Response was swift and effective. Very impressed with the customer service I got. Only dropped a star because of the initial glitch with the order.

Very poor customer service

I purchased three Philips incandescent bulbs online from Lampwise, believing that they were a good make and a reputable supplier. Each of the three bulbs failed in the same table light very quickly, so I suggested to the shop that they were probably a faulty batch and asked if they would be prepared to replace them. Their reply was:
"I'm sorry to hear you're unhappy with the life of the product but unfortunately, we do not replace incandescents beyond our 30-day return window. The reason for this is there are many explanations as to why an incandescent light bulb could fail such as power surges or faulty equipment that would not be the fault of the product."
Any decent company would have made some offer as a goodwill gesture, but Lampwise seems not to fit into this category. My advice would be if you want good customer service don't buy from them.

The customer is wrong

I bought two lights from them and when some of the glass cracked after the warranty period they ordered me replacement ones I paid for, two different sizes and one cracked, I took them back and was told they don't make them anymore you will have to buy new ones? I actually found the glasses 1/3 price on the internet. They very expensive which if it came with customer service would be fine, but they are right the customer is wrong and overcharged for it.
