Our adjuster, Jason, handled our claim with great care and professionalism. He is well-known for his excellent work. I had to file a claim for damage to my car and Mercury’s process was quick, and daresay, easy and painless. The rear passenger door and quarter panel had significant damage. Within a day after the accident and filing my claim, I received approval to have my car repaired. My car insurance covered a rental and I was only responsible for my deductible. I am extremely pleased with my experience with Mercury Insurance.

I had a very mixed experience with Mercury in connection with the auto accident I had that totaled my car on a local freeway. I was unable to connect with Mercury to determine where to have the car towed, so had it towed home. Then was able to arrange for a rental car and to have Mercury tow my car from my home to the lot. The tow company was to pick up my car the next day, and did call me but I missed the call. I called back almost immediately, and although the company in Boca Raton had just called, after almost an hour they still maintained they had no record of the tow order, arranged a conference call with Mercury that was useless, and Mercury finally advised me to call my claims representative. I tried many times, and Mercury's telephone system said repeatedly both that he did not exist and that my claim number did not exist. When I finally reached him he took care of communications about the tow, which then went fine. I had asked him about the expenses I incurred towing my car to my house over my AAA benefit, and he said he would look into it. I next heard from the tow lot, which informed me my car would be declared a total loss. I was not surprised, and began shopping for a new car although at that point I was still a little scared driving. My car had been in perfect condition. I spent $5,000 to get all the little dings out a few months before, and more than $600 to replace the motor on a rear windshield wiper that I never use. Heard shortly thereafter from the claims representative in the total loss department. She had sent my communications to a non-existent email address, but once I straightened that out and saw the documents they looked within ball-part reasonable - I was glad to see Mercury had contracted the valuation out, so I was willing to sign the documents the second representative presented. Twice. She forgot the odometer reading the first time. Today I received a check that is not in my name and a transfer of title document that is not in my name. The second claims representative apparently does not know how to read a California motor vehicle registration. California has a provision called transfer at death which is a way of transferring title to a vehicle without a will. So the title says my name, then Tod (standing for transfer on death) and the name of the person I designated. The documents and check, from the second claims representative, omit my middle name and insert instead the full name of the transferee. I tried to call various ways today, the second claims representative did not answer, and consistent with my experience with Mercury it is impossible to get thru without an extension number - so getting assistance from a supervisor or someone else is impossible. A person could spend hours on hold without ever talking to a human. And the check I received did not include the tow charge I talked to the second claims representative about, had sent her an invoice for, that she said she would discuss with her supervisor. (Had also sent the invoice to the first claims representative at his request.) She may have discussed the charge, but did not do me the courtesy of getting back to me about it. First claims representative, A; second claims representative, F; Mercury phone system F. I had the same varied experience (in reverse) when I called in when I reached home from the accident, before I was assigned a representative the first person I talked to did arrange for a rental car but was unpleasant about my request that my car be towed the same day; the second person that day was great. So now I have documents that need to be redone and a check that needs to be reissued, which is additional aggravation and effort on my part that was unnecessary.
The overall process was quick and easy. Mercury handled the entire process efficiently and without delay - they paid my loan off and gave me a fair market price for my total loss. I would highly recommend Mercury Insurance to family and friends.

An adjuster named Mark came out within a week—he was personable, accommodating, and gave us clear, step-by-step instructions on how to report all of our losses. His professionalism made a stressful situation much easier to navigate.
Within just three weeks, Mercury had reviewed everything and deposited the full dwelling damages directly into my bank account without any issues. The entire experience was smooth, transparent, and handled with great care.

This company has lost its luster as a company that has its clients in the utmost interest and is now looking for ways to reduce its pay out and to make unfortunately larger profits. So if your into paying through the nose for a very small pay off in the end this company is going to be a great place to loose your money.
