Doris Robertson was my theft/fire claims specialist. She responds to texts, emails and voicemails promptly and even works to get your claim resolved if or when it gets transferred to another department. She made the process run smoothly during an extremely sensitive time.

There initial contact with the adjuster and subsequent payment of the claim on the home went very well. The claim regarding personal property was marred only by my expectation, based on my communication with the adjuster, that depreciation was not an issue only replacement value mattered. After my initial dissatisfaction due to the personal property issue I have come to appreciate that I was treated fairly by both the adjuster and Mercury.
This was my first claim since I started driving 43 years ago. Excellent customer service during the uncertain and difficult times.
Mercury Auto claim service has extremely easy and user-friendly process to follow. I was impressed with response from follow up I received until my vehicle was repaired and returned to me. I strongly recommend Mercury Auto Insurance to everyone.
BEWARE OF MERCURY INSURANCE... My experience with Mercury Insurance has been nothing short of a nightmare. We are in Oklahoma and We have had no prior claims. We filed a claim in December 2024 for hail damage to our 10-year-old roof, supported by inspections from two different roofing companies confirming the damage, and a third in February 2025. Despite clear evidence, Mercury's adjuster sent an inspector who dismissed it as "wear and tear," and denied our claim. By April 2025, shingles started flying off our roof due to the unresolved damage. A roofer documented the exposed section, tarped it, and sent crystal-clear photos—only for the adjuster to again say the images weren't clear. When I escalated to his supervisor, she doubled down on the dishonesty, claiming the new damage was "unrelated" and demanded a separate claim with a doubled deductible. I escalated again to the manager of claims, who also denied the hail damage and considered flying shingles as wind damage. She wanted a new claim for wind damage, and still, it might not be covered because replacing the missing shingles is still below the deductible. Unbelievable... This is a blatant scam. The damage was always there—Mercury's inspectors failed to acknowledge it. Mercury Insurance does not honor legitimate claims. They delay, deceive, and exploit loopholes to avoid paying. After years of paying premiums on time, they've shown they're unethical and untrustworthy.
I will not stop fighting until this is resolved, and I urge anyone considering Mercury to run the other way.
I had a hit and run accident on a rainy Friday late afternoon I did what I suppose to got my pictures witnesses and a police report number. I reported it after the weekend claims sent me for an estimate to a friendly mercury body shop. I never saw the estimate all I know I received a phone call to return there call which I did a woman named Aquarius Fuller answered and she needed my wife's phone number I ask about the estimate and she answered that they had not looked at it. Few moments later my wife calls saying that our car is totaled and miss Aquarius Fuller demanded the car immediately to be turned in, I learned that mercury got there own dismantling companies. Miss Aquarius Fuller never intended to discuss any option we have. Our rental car was only good for the first 5 days after the accident she claimed she kept on pushing demanding the car I wasn't allowed to deliver the car myself oh no the dismantling company was ready to pick it up and they where searching and looking for it already. I'm still not finished with them but I will not renew my policy with them.
The worst insurance company ever. DOES NOT HELP if you get in an accident. They never return phone calls, don't even reference paper work, employees are extremely rude and condescending.
So my front porch roof started leaking rain water so I first called a legit roofing company, and they came out and then suggested that I call the insurance company. The games to deny the claim started immediately. Mercury called out a fake inspection company (seek now) that would carry out their denial plan. Everyone agreed to 1:00 pm, then the date of inspection Tate Butler showed up three hours early to intentionally avoid my roofing company and then executed the scam to cheat me out of a proper roof repair in conjunction with Mercury Insurance company.
Absolutely dreadful company. Canceled our home owners insurance for having potted plants on our stairs. We moved the potted plants and sent photos as evidence and they refused to reinstate our insurance.
They also jerked our auto policy after DMV mistakenly didn't update my registration during Covid shutdown...... The worst. I had to pay extra fees because of their negligence
Year and half multiple policy holder, home owners and auto(2).
They jacked up my auto rate 700 and even their customer service couldn't explain why.
No ticket, no accident, no changes literally!
I can explain, GREED, they are no better than any horrible greedy insurance company out there, even if they pretend to be better!

My husband and I own a property in central Los Angeles where we live in the front house and rent two guesthouses behind our home to long term tenants. It is a modest but really charming Craftsman style bungalow built in 1924, and we've taken great care of it to provide a beautiful living space for people, doing all the work ourselves.
It has been harder and harder to find companies that will give us a "landlord" policy, getting dropped for no reason (have not had a single claim in the 25+ years we have owned the house).
Our latest experience was too horrible to not speak out about it (I'll write the nutshell version):
Our last (and current) insurer is MERCURY. They forced us to redo our roof (which wasn't leaking and in good shape other than a little "granular loss") with threats of cancelling our policy. And gave us 30 days (during the rainy season at the beginning of this year). We didn't have the budget to do it, but figured it out and borrowed some money.
By California code, we can have up to 2 layers of shingles on our roof and all 10 licensed contractors confirmed this and said that was all that was needed. Wide range of quotes, and we went with the lowest at $8,000.
Fast forward several months, we just received a notice of non-renewal! They are dropping us EVEN after we did the work they MADE us do. They said they wanted us to REPLACE THE WHOLE ROOF!
WHAT??? Spend $25-30K to replace a roof that was in good condition and didn't leak???
This is abuse of power. Corporate bullying.
Now the best replacement (and pretty much the only one) our broker can find is more than double the price, with a $10K deductible!
How is it that the consumer has zero power now? We can't even choose who we give our hard earned money to.
How did we get here? It makes no sense. There has to be a better way...
I will share this story wherever I can to inform as many people as possible of these unacceptable practices.
They rise in price very high for my six month car insurance for no reason !! really bad !!
They do not pay claims. I am of the belief they are illegal. When a claim was supposed to be paid for water damage, payment was promised, but never arrived in my account. Where did the money disappear? I have notified my bank to not let them draw from my account . Stay away from this “company” that may be a cover for illegal operations.
I had a horrible experience with my claims adjuster Kamila Hawkins and my renters insurance policy. Recently when the heavy rains came in it created massive leaks flooding and water damage to come in from the exterior wall of my apartment. Creating a few thousand dollars worth of damages to an expensive sneaker collection and various high end electronics and computers. From the start Kamila was always rude and her tone was very demeaning. I submitted all required documents videos, pictures and forms she requested. The heavy rains were considered state emergency. I was allotted a certain time period to submit all damages and forms. I was still working on sending more information in regarding damages and Kamila closed out my claim without having anyone come to access the damages to my belongings. She is very unprofessional and I am currently seeking legal action against Mercury.
I have never had such a terrible experience with an insurance carrier as much as I have had with Mercury. My car was hit on the back bumper on the freeway while my car was stopped. The police came and completed their report. Over several calls with Mercury, Mercury agreed to pay for the damages. When I drove the car to the repair shop that Mercury recommended, the adjuster at the body shop quote ~$2K for repairs . That body show didn't look under the bumper or anywhere; they underquoted the repair after taking less than a minute to see the car and take ~5 pictures. Immediate concerns arose from the repair shop's quality and that that is recommended by Mercury. I proceeded to the BMW dealer and received a recommendation to use BMW certified body shops. Note that this was all during Covid when I needed to take care of my elderly parents who are close to 80 years old and the body shops and rental cars require much preplanning since they don't accept walkins. While at the German auto body shop, the quote came out to $4500. Mercury came out and inspected the car and denied the request. Teh adjuster said the repair was not the same repair from the accident. Didn't the adjustor have any sense to easily look at the photos to compare the accident and see that it was the same bumper, same car, and all the details were the same? Now in order to settle, I need to go to civil court and hire a lawyer so that I could get the car repaired and the rental car reimbursed. Mercury is making a mess out of this. I would highly dissuade anyone from using Mercury insurance.
