Everything was excellent from the start…

Everything was excellent from the start to the end. As a first-time buyer, I was concerned and filled with questions. Derek and his team were willing to answer my queries by phone or email. The process is straightforward and nothing was vague. I had a few unusual things on my end, but the team worked with me to address them quickly and work around them. My lawyer also said that Morty was easy to work with. I highly recommend them. Derek and his team were wonderful to work with.

Morty.com deserves 10 STARS!

Derek, Noah, Karen and their team at Morty.com deserve 10 stars!! They were so competent, caring and supportive throughout the whole process of procuring a home loan. They were able to find an incredibly good rate for us, with the lowest closing costs I've seen. They explained everything, anticipated potential problems with the underwriters so that we could meet our contractual closing date, and followed through on every detail. I wish every company was half as good.
I will use them again and give them the highest recommendation!

Amazing team

Amazing team. They helped me through several unique situations and helped my wife and I close on an amazing home. The milestones layout really helps you know what needs to be done and when. I couldn't recommend a better team.

Morty is a Next Gen Lender!

Morty is definitely modeled for a modern day mortgage experience. I have been on a home search for sometime and no matter how hot or cold the market was, Morty seemed to always pop up on my mortgage lender rate searches. One day, I said I'll give them a try. I was preapproved and used their preapproval letter to make an offer on an ideal home, which was accepted. However, when I went shopping for 3 quotes from lenders to proceed with financing, I received a lower rate from a different lender. About one week into the process of applying and uploading documents into their system, Morty emails me with an updated rate 0.3% lower than that lender. I quickly switched gears and Morty accepted me with open arms. Jack Edelman has been with me every step of the way and made sure that I provided all of the documentation and information needed to ensure I was cleared to close as fast as possible. Even with switching lenders I was cleared to close within 3 weeks of an accepted offer. Where Morty stood out the most for me, was they seem to prefer all correspondence to go through email. However, they do provide their personal phone numbers once you are committed and Morty is ready at a moments notice to communicate with you by the method of your choice. I can not say enough about the positive experience I've had with Morty. They definitely understand what the next generation of homebuyers expect from a lender!!

A great experience

A great experience! I had talked several mortgage companies and the thing that stood out was the no nonsense approach Morty representatives took from the start. I don't like having my time wasted and Morty did not.

Good interest rate, but communication lacked

The interest rate was great and the ability to easily upload documents via the online portal was nice. Communication lacked during the transactions and my real estate agent and I often were unsure what the status of the loan was.

Of course, getting a mortgage and buying a home is unpredictable, so our team of mortgage experts are readily available throughout the process to provide support and make sure you have everything you need to close on time. Morty’s proprietary Closing Tracker is a central source of truth for loan status and our platform is designed to minimize the need for direct updates but we could have done a better job of tailoring our communication to your preferred method. We’re sorry that we missed the mark in that regard.

Morty leaves a bit to be desired.

The main point of contact I believe tried to help with issues. The remaining team I never had contact with. Some of the "normal" requirements were ridiculous. I asked multiple times "What I needed to provide to be able to close" and I was told certain items and when the next statement was emailed to me cleared items remained. I also told my contact that I had already paid the appraisal for four weeks and yet it still appeared as a charge at closing.

When collecting loan application information, we consider all documentation required by lenders and by law, as well as additional materials that are necessary to achieve an efficient, on-time closing. We request all this information upfront and, since every borrower profile is different, we cannot always anticipate all necessary documentation. We could have done a better job of keeping you informed along the way and working with the lender to correct any errors prior to closing. We regret that our communication around this process didn’t meet your expectations.

Great experience, highly recommend

Morty was awesome. I dread financial paperwork and having to drive to offices and banks and wait in line there just to find out that I forgot to bring some important document or don't have some piece of information. With Morty, I did everything at home via a really well done web interface. I could track progress every day. Morty closed my loan in 3 weeks at a rate that my realtor has never seen in 30 years in the business. Morty made this whole process and paperwork fun. I highly recommend it.

Closed in exactly thirty days even with the title company being behind! The team stayed in contact with me by email and phone when requested. They stayed on top of what needed to be done and in contact with the third party teams as needed.

The mortgage process was simpler than…

The mortgage process was simpler than my first time. Everything is laid out as far what you need and how soon. The team, mainly my point of contact was very responsive and helpful. She didn’t make me feel like a dummy for asking a obvious question.

Was Skeptical...But I Recommend

Ian was our mortgage broker - he did a great job and stayed on top of it all. We ended up getting an appraisal waiver, which was great to help expedite the process. I was skeptical to go with an online broker initially, but I appreciated the dashboard to track the progress. Note: house we bought was in Pennsylvania for $715k with 25% down.
