I used Morty as a first time home buyer. I got the very best rate from them, no other lender could even come close. Morty was even able to lock my rate for the few extra days that I needed, free of charge and without increasing my rate to the next tier. We ended up closing on time and everything went smoothly. The only reason I gave them a 4 star is because communication wasn't always easy. As a first time home buyer, I had A LOT of questions. Many times it would have been nice to call and have all of my questions answered on the spot. But instead i had to send emails and wait sometimes 3-4 days to hear back. This was extremely frustrating when I had my sellers asking me questions. I had also called the phone number they had listed several times, leaving voice-mails, and I never had a call returned. Instead they answered me over email. I also did not get the final closing papers until a half hour before I closed. Which made it difficult to know how much cash I needed to bring to closing.
While the communication part had me extremely irritated many days, I would still go through them again because of how much money I saved (around $90 a month, truly a huge savings over 30 years!). It might be a little bit of work up front, but after closing, the savings are totally worth it!
The most convenient option to finance your home. Everything was done so seamlessly - I didn't have run around to the bank or keep calling the loan officer in traditional banks.
I was hesitant at first to go the online route to finance my home - but I am very glad I did.
Also they offered such great interest rate - No other bank could match it!

Our experience was so smooth! The team is very on top of everything and super responsive. Paige and Jack were amazing and I can’t thank them enough for their involvement in the whole process. The tracker is very helpful and let’s you know where you are and what you’d need to catch up on to keep the process moving forward. All in all, they got us to the finish line more than a week ahead of our predetermined closing date. My husband and I are very please with our experience!
I've got to say I'm very happy we went with Morty! I think we got the best rate possible with the least amount of effort in shopping around. The dashboard was super intuitive and easy to use. Throughout the whole process, my wife and I kept saying surely it can't be this easy. Jack and Ian were a dream team and consistently available for questions along the way. They were able to get us a float-down option on our rate without us even asking for it which was really great and saved us big! Closing was a breeze and we still are having a hard time believing the whole process was so painless and we're now homeowners!
Loan processor Jack Edelman is one of the most competent, professional and trustworthy individuals I've had the pleasure of knowing and working with. He's an asset not only to Morty but the entire mortgage loan industry.
I worked with Paige Hawley and she was sensational. From the first day that I contacted Morty to the very end of my loan application, she happily answered questions and even did some research on my unique requests. I had other loan applications out to a couple of big banks, but none of them had the customer service and the expediency that Paige showed through Morty. If you get her, you will be thrilled.
Derek Gussaroff was on the ball the entire time from the beginning of the loan process to the end. I would not hesitate to refer Derek or Morty.com to anybody.
Very efficient document intake. Most communication was done through email and their portal website where most documents are entered. I was able to lock in a significantly lower rate than what I was quoted by others. Pretty responsive (except weekends), and was very relieved and happy to have gotten everything done within a 28 day closing period.
I just got final approval from lender.
The process was really fast and easy through Morty website and then through the team.
It took less than 4 weeks to closing.
Ian and keegan were great and prepared everything.
They answered my questions and worked hardly in the last week before closing to make sure everything is good.
The rate I had was very good as well.

Went into the home buying process with intentions of going with a local lender around my area. However, when it came to actual lending time, the all attractive rates that were once communicated to me now increased 60bps. I pay attention to the market and knew that such a jump was not warranted by the actual market trends. Thus, I begrudgingly started shopping around. I went to lending tree and entered all of my information and out popped my quotes. Out of all outputs... Morty was the best rate by a wide margin. Morty? What is that? I stared at the quote for a few days and started doing my due diligence on vetting this company. I found nothing but great reviews and an A+ accreditation by the BBB. So I decided to go with them. They were a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stressful process. They answered all of my questions timely and exemplified great communication. I really enjoyed their online portal which allowed me to load all of my documents and to visualize the progress toward my close. Well... we just closed and I feel a great sense of gratitude knowing that I got an excellent loan. Thank you specifically to Jack Edelman and Derek Gussaroff for holding my hand through this process.

I helped my son purchase a condo in San Diego. Before I found Morty I started to use another mortgage broker. I seemed to have to jump through hoops to get it pre-approved. Then I used Morty and the pre-approval process was very simplified and fast. Morty's mortgage rates very transparent and they let me know right up front what the closing costs were going to be. I have to give a shoutout to Derek Gussarof who was so helpful during the entire process. He was particularly helpful when there was a discrepancy on the points to close the loan. He rectified the situation beautifully by giving some money back on the closing costs when technically he did not have to. That showed me a lot of integrity which seems to be in short supply in today's corporate world. I highly recommend Morty.
It was an absolute pleasure working with the entire Morty team on our new construction purchase. They offered the best rates on the market, and fees and terms were completely transparent from start to finish. Ian and Jack were great communicators, responding promptly to any questions I had (and there were many!) They were even able to get me a lower rate a week before closing, and we still closed right on time. Closing was smooth and easy. I highly recommend Morty and would absolutely use them again.
I'm glad we found Morty when we were looking to buy a house. We were second-time buyers, so already had a good idea of the process and what to do and not to do when applying for a mortgage. This was valuable, as there was not a lot of hand-holding or instructions from Morty beyond asking for various documents, though they were very response when we had specific questions. Overall this worked well for us. When closing time came and the seller caused a significant delay, they worked with us to extend the rate lock at little additional cost. We are now happily in our new house and still thrilled about the interest rate we got through Morty!
Morty showed us great rates. Everything was going well until the last day of the mortgage contingency when suddenly, they need tons of new paperwork from me. I feel that I am consistently having to repeat myself in emails and currently, we might not be closing on time. I'm hoping they can get everything together in the next few hours. I will update my review if the situation improves.

As a first time buyer, i did not know what to expect.
The on line application was answered quickly, since calls and guidance were walking hands in hands.
The professionalism and dedication are Morty's blue print.
Morty had given me sense of hope, by taking my dream into reality, when all the appearances were against me, being single, and a woman at the same could have been a complicated issue, but thank you God by helping me make it thru, i have an ownership.

I rate Morty 5 STARS.
I have given Morty everything they asked for the day(s) requested, no lag on my end at all. We are 2-3 days before closing and everything still has to be updated and fixed on the closing disclosure. I do not know how many times I have emailed (since they don't answer the phone either) to get it all fixed. I have outlined every error and when it comes back, there is a different error (like the closing date changed mysteriously so now the prepaids, etc. are wrong). I would never use Morty again even though they had the best rates when I had a contract signed. Appraisal took forever, then the appeal of the appraisal took 2 weeks. I could go on and on. Ian is hardly responsive (my assigned MLO). If he hadn't been out a couple days, I wouldn't have gotten Paige who is an MLO too, she is way better than Ian. Calls me, emails me back, etc. I hope she gets the commission. My title company is ready to close...still waiting on Morty...so we'll see. If you could pick your MLO from Morty, then this could work for you. I lucked out.
