Total scam site designed to impersonate the CA DMV and charges you $$$ extra for what you could easily do on the DMV website without the upsell fees. Felt duped and tricked and then after Googling it, found out there are many complaints about this site. Even their so called "shopper approved" reviews are designed to remove 1- and 2- reviews and show an inflated review score of 4.8. Brilliant scam someone is making money off of!

I never got any tags for my dirt bike. Need tags. Yeah. Still do. Thank you for my registration paper and title. But if your site is called need tags. I think I should receive tags. Emailed you guys about it and they didn’t care. All they said was it was issued and I should have recieved it. Nope. Thanks

They DMV lookalike site that ripping people off.
They adding hidden fees no customer service and haven't been able to get my tags. Want to get a refund can't get it. Filed a claim through my bank they can't get it as well end up filing FTC FDIC claims against to my bank...

Although we cannot give specific details in this public response, there are situations which require customers to fulfill certain DMV requirements, which if not done in a timely manner may delay receipt of renewed registration. DMV lookalike website - be VERY careful
This is a business with a very deceptive DMV lookalike webpage. I'll be generous and say that maybe they accidentally designed it this way and it's not intended to fool you into thinking you are on the DMV website. They charge a hefty service fee with add ons which you do not need to pay if you are doing a simple online renewal. I only noticed at the last minute when I compared my renewal fee of $273 (DMV) with the $346.67 that Needtags were proposing to charge me.
I am sure many people have unsuspectingly been ripped off by this business. How have they not been litigated against by the DMV under copycat laws?

Dont trust this company
Dont trust this company. It states in their website it's an online transfer of car ownership but after over charging you. They sent you an email to send them all documents and use USPS. I thought it was online. I tried to cancel the transaction but I can't get hold of any representative. You will get an automated response though that any transaction with them cannot be canceled. By the way they charge $148 for that service I didn't used and I went to DMV and only paid $15. Hard lesson learned.

With regards to Title Transfer services, it is true that NeedTags charges service fees for expedited DMV title transfers with concierge level first class support. The cost of the actual transfer itself, i.e. DMV registration fees, are finalized/collected only after your paperwork is received by our office. These fees are disclosed and explained in detail prior to checkout, along side a full explanation of the process. Title transfers can be tedious, and it's best to have a trusted DMV registration service provider on your side.

Esperanza was very, very helpful. Never expected for someone at the DMV to be as helpful as she was. She was very fast to reply and she answered all my questions no matter how repetitive they were. She truly went above and beyond and always so friendly. I appreciate her very much. Wish there was more people like her at the DMV.

Company is a total scam
Company is a total scam. I worked for DMV and we would get so many complaints. Their company comes up first once you engine search DMV renewal. I almost fell for it. Totally looks legit but notice their web page does not end with gov…. That’s how you know it’s not the actual DMV. Please don’t fall for this scam and pay extra money for a company who is totally ripping you off for unnecessary fees !

More Than Unhappy
EVERYTHING ... Your phone rep was not that informative ... even short at times! I was not aware I was missing a form that was never mentioned ... so I filled that out and sent it to you ... after that then was told I had to have it smogged? Think you folks would have told me that was missing with the missing form?? Was not sure as to why I had to have it smogged either ... was smogged in May, when tags were renewed? Did not ask any more questions because I did not want to deal with ANY of you! Not to mention it was EXPENSIVE!!!

This is a warning ⚠️ be very vary careful with this site. They don't refund if you find out that they are not the real DMV site and you already paid. They are a 3rd party that will charge you huge fees with no warning. When the real DMV is free. And they will threaten to take you to court. So don't get trapped in these tactics. This is a nother form of Bait and switch.
