I strongly advise against engaging with this company under any circumstances. They release products that are essentially unfinished prototypes, and subsequent updates leave customers with the bitter feeling of having purchased an expensive trial version.

My specific incident involves the purchase of the Shard Chandelier at the end of 2022, installed only in November 2023. Upon setting up the light, it became evident that it looked peculiar, with visible bulbs and a cheap-looking frame visible from every angle. Upon comparing my light with the product on the website, it was apparent that Original BTC acknowledged the design flaws by making subsequent changes and covering the whole bottom of the light with glass.

Seeking a resolution, I contacted the company to inquire about upgrading my light to enhance its appearance. I expressed a willingness to pay for a frame upgrade while retaining the 'bone chine handmade in Britain' feature, provided it could be offered at a reduced cost. To my dismay, I was offered the option to purchase only the frame and fittings for almost £2.3k!!!, making the 'bone china handmade in Britain' a feature the company proudly promotes and built their fame on, ironically the least expensive part of the light that's worth not even £400.

Given this experience, I strongly discourage others from making any purchases from this company. It seems they may still be refining their designs, and potential changes could leave customers with disappointment and minimal accountability on the company's part.

Absolutely brilliant service! The Customer Service team were extremely helpful in arranging for our delivery to Germany. The Alma lamp arrived meticulously packed, is an engineering and design marvel and is bringing us utter joy when we look at it in our room.

I have not yet received the items I purchased, it has been more than a month since I bought them. There are problems with the courier service, they have not provided complete information or explanation of additional import costs

Bonjour nous sommes le samedi 23 décembre et je veins de me casser le nez en trouvant boutique fermée à St Germain des Prés. Évidemment pas d’indication sur place sur une éventuelle modification d’horaire ni sur Google: ouverture à 11h heures. Les congés sont indiqués à partir du 26 décembre. Bref cela exaspère de la part d’une marque quand même haut de gamme installée dans un quartier touristique en plus. C’était la seule porte close de la rue ce matin. Je voulais acheter un lampadaire, cela ne va peut être pas durer. Commentaire sans rapport aucun avec la qualité des produits que je connais. Dommage.

Don’t get me wrong, the light is beautiful. However the shade arrived dented and one of the parts was threaded incorrectly. I was challenged by customer service for on whether I was attempting to attach the shade correctly in spite of sending a video. A new shade was sent but not a new threaded piece. I then re-requested the threaded piece and it was sent via slow post. I then re-re-requested the threaded piece since the previous one was so delayed. This time it was fed exed. Now all is complete and the light is operational. It looks fantastic. Customer service was kind enough, I’m just surprised that it took a month to make it right for a light that costs so much.

The light that we purchased was very expensive for a floor lamp and came with a floor pedal switch in a position on the cord where it can not touch the floor. Just disappointed that the product was not better described at the time we ordered it.
