Do not buy this tracker

We purchased a tracker and a subscription for a year. The tracker was very inaccurate and if my cat had got lost I would not have been able to find her .

I returned the tracker by recorded delivery before the 14 days period and with agreement from customer services. I have confirmation that it arrived with pawtrack before the 14 days period but they have not answered my emails and I have received no refund.

Even once I removed the batteries the app continued to send messages to say that my cat is in my neighbors garden.

Edit: I have since received a refund

Good option for tracking, some issues being worked through

I really like the ability to know where my cats are when they roam. Pawtrack provides that comfort. The app is very easy to use and the tracking feature is nice.

I have had issues with the collar receiving information from the GPS in a timely manner. There have been days when the cellular connection is made but the satellite connection take hours to update. I have found that this drains the battery very fast, even when the settings are only taking readings every 120-360 minutes. A more consistent and reliable connection to GPS is desired.

I am still working to get the ‘stop tracking while within WiFi’ option to work and I have yet to have a geofence breach alert despite seeing the collars tracking outside the fence. Alerts for the app are set to come through. Still working to figure that out.

Customer service has been very helpful. I am in the States so there is some issue with being able to communicate with the CSRs due to time zones but email has been working so far.

I have ordered and been charged for a third collar (lost one of the first two I bought early in use) but have yet to receive any update on it being shipped and the purchase was made over 2 weeks ago. I have been in contact with the CSRs and they have said they are looking into it. As of December 3, 2022 I have not heard back regarding the status of the new collar shipping to me. I have faith this will be figured out but I’m also losing out on the subscription that uses that collar.

Overall I am happy I have the ability to know where my kittens are when they are out and about. I am still learning the tech and specs. I look forward to Pawtrack continuing to enhance their product and service. I hope to have the new collar soon to have tracking for both my cats.

I am extremely disappointed in Pawtrack

I am extremely disappointed in this company and their product. When I purchased my cat collars several years ago. There were a few glitches, but they were rectified by their tech staff. I loved the app and the design of the collars themselves. The few times, when the collars fell off of my cats I was able to easily find them with the original app.
I have had the experience of using both the old app, and the new one due to the fact that one of my cats collars was the older version and then the other one stopped working, and I ordered a new collar.
The new collars are horrible! I don’t know who’s responsible for their horrific design, but they obviously did not get any input from actual cat owners.
The older version of the collars batteries securely snapped onto the collar and lasted for two days. Also, the location on the older app was more precise as to the cat’s current location and where the cat had been. The new app is a day behind and the time is completely wrong!
The new collar batteries don’t even last half of the day. What good is that if your cat is lost? You have two hours to find your cat? That is assuming of course that when the collar fell off of the cat, the battery compartment that holds the battery is doesn’t fall apart.
The design is a disaster! I already had one of the new collars replaced because when the collar fell off of my cat, the first time, I found it in my neighbors yard, but it had fallen apart, so the battery was actually laying next to the collar which means of course it was not telling me where the battery was. When the collar was lost the second time, I never found it because it never told me a location that was correct. Also, I realize that your tech department is frustrated with the collars and app not working properly but they shouldn’t ignore your emails.
I have repeatedly emailed to have my problem fixed and sometimes I am answered but they cannot help me fix the problem or other times I send numerous emails to get a response. I don’t know what happened to your customer service or your research and development department, but some thing has gone terribly wrong . I would not recommend this product to anyone.

I was looking for a cat collar. The PAWTRACK website is cool and before buying I wrote them an email to ask a few questions. They answered me very quickly… so I bought…
The collar arrived and I set it up. But it seems that the collar had a defect because the GPS position was frozen. Impossible to use.
I contacted PAWTRACK but they were unable to fix the problem so they ask me to send the package back for a refund (110€). These things happen, our exchanges were very good.

I send the package back, the post office confirms me that PAWTRACK has received the package. And since then, NOTHING. They don’t answer my mails anymore, they don’t proceed to the refund. It has been several months now… Afterwards, on the internet, I saw a lot of other customers who had the same bad experience. In short, they are thieves, poor quality product

Pawtrack

Pawtrack - where to start. Device fell apart when cat jumped off a fence. Device couldn't find cat within a 100m radius, couldn't therefore use device and no way would they give a refund for the advance payment of a yearly subscription.
Do not deal with this company and pretty sure most of the reviews on their website must be fake.
Other general companies I have dealt with are happy to refund if an issue arises, not that I have had that experience much. These companies need to stop skimming money with fake subscriptions that don't.
I had high hopes for this company and device.

Tested it first before trying on cat

Tested it first before trying on cat, it was not good. It did eventually pick up GPS signal, but so unreliable to be useless really. App / Software is terrible.

Cat hated it anyway, so returned in a few days. No refund despite sending recorded delivery, and no communication. Have had to dispute with credit card company (still waiting for result).

Consider carefully before sending these people any money.

Do NOT Purchase this Product

This is a VERY poor product from a VERY bad company. To begin with the GPS tracker, of which I purchased two, did not work properly. The tracking app was poorly designed and the battery wore out after just two hours of use.

After much effort I was able to contact their technical support which was next to useless. It was not possible to call them so I had to rely on email support and they basically left me hanging. I attempted to return the units for a refund but I was refused because the tracking collars were "used" (in fact they were less than one week old).

I cancelled my tracking service but they refused to refund me the $59.99 that I had paid. Just to rub salt into the wound, the following year they charged me an additional $59.99 for the previous years service, even though I had cancelled my service the previous year.

My sincere opinion is that this is a very dishonest company that markets a non-functioning product for the purposes of their own financial gain. It is my opinion, based on my experience, that these people need to be shut down.

Perfect GPS for cats

The GPS system is the perfect size for cats - our english shorthair is not bothered by the collar at all. It is easy to recharge (with two batteries you can swap between one empty and one charged) and adjustable to fit small necks. Only once she got stuck with it on branch - she escaped easily and we found it based on the last GPS marker. Customer service is quick to respond to questions and helpful. Sometime the GPS doesn't locate first time but with a bit of patience it connects. We have been using this GPS for over a year now and would recommend the service.

Waste of Money and Terrible Customer Care

Firstly, I placed the order and after not receiving the product or a despatch notice for quite a while, I emailed them to ask if it had been sent, remarkably, the next day I received a despatch notice, I then emailed them to let them know I wasn't happy with how long it had taken to despatch the item, they sent me some nonsense reply about postal strikes, but a postal strike wouldn't affect when they send it out.

However, I've now had it for a couple of weeks and it's just not reliable, it's saying my cat is home when I can quite clearly see him on someone's shed 3-4 doors down, the GPS barely ever updates, even now, I'm looking at it and it's saying the last time updated was last night at 22.32 - it's utterly useless.

I've emailed Pawtrack twice about returning the item and getting a refund, but they haven't responded.

Hugely unimpressed.

It has never worked

It has never worked. I got the tech. sorted myself but needed the help of a Vet to unclip the clip at the end of the collar so we could cut collar to length and reattach - she watched the video and said that it looks like the clip has changed slightly since the v3 video? In any case, the clip comes away in two parts but it doesn't look like that on the video.

Secondly, is it right that when I charge up the batteries, the light changes to green but as soon as it's in the collar, it flashes red? On the night of 13 November, the battery % was at about 96%, by the time I was at work next day, it was at around 37% and minutes later it was at 2%, then 1%?

I emailed 15 November saying that the tracker was telling me my cat was across the other side of the Close, where she never goes, but was with me in the lounge! Was told it was simply a Wifi issue with the collar and to re-enter my Wifi details on the Pawtrack v3 app, with the collar outside. I cannot find Settings in the app and emailed four days ago with a screenshot to which I've not yet received a reply.

Finally, during these email exchanges, I was advised that my Wifi must support 2.4GHz - I'd no idea what this meant; was told it'll be on back of my router - nothing on the back but lots of numbers on the bottom but no mention of 2.4GHz - sent a photo. and said it was Virgin so whatever this 2.5GHz is, I'd assume Virgin do it. Nothing about this requirement is mentioned at purchase. I've dated this experience today (23 Nov) but altho' managed the tech. to a point, struggled with the clip then the other issues since 1 November.

Update on over two years use of Pawtrack

Please note that we no longer use this product and have now moved to a different provider. The review below was accurate based on on our initial use of the collar.

We have now been using a Pawtrack Collar for over two years.
Our cat is a working cat, very much an outdoor roaming cat,
and he lives at our business unit. We use Pawtrack to track his movements.
We now have a good idea where he goes and his favourite spots.
He has come home minus a collar a couple of times recently,
but that was probably due to a fight. Collar safety clip worked as it should and
the collar came off.
On both occasions we were able to find the collar within a few metres of the location shown.
It is a GPS device and there have been occasional glitches
but these normally get resolved. Pawtrack have always been very helpful to us
and have responded to any issues that we have raised in a reasonable time.
As with any tracking device, there is room for improvement, but we feel as
confident as we can be to let an outdoor cat roam as he wishes. Battery life is good, but is
dependant on activity, so the more he roams, the shorter the battery life. If he stays in a lot,
battery life will be extended. Because of his life style he wears his collar 24/7.

I LOVE MY TUCKER!

I have had my pawtrack about 3 years now.....I LOVE IT! i need more collars for a few more of my cats! But im glad i KNOW WHERE TUCKER IS

Wonderful product great for tracking my…

Wonderful product great for tracking my cat that kept disappearing for hours at a time. Using the Pawtrack i now know where he goes and where he is when I need to get him home. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to know where their cat goes. The heat map shows me where he goes 👏

We bought a Pawtrack collar for our cat after we moved house. It’s given us that extra piece of mind.

Pawtrack are very good at responding to queries, I would recommend their product.

Great cat tracker

Had pawtrack for my Thunder cat for about 4 years now, it works for us, if he’s out longer than usual etc… we can find where he is.x

6 months on… can send some funny…

6 months on… can send some funny locations at times, but I think all gps can do that at times. We have set up Wi-Fi, and the collar just ticks over. Still love seeing where he went last night.
