Do not use paypal pay in 3! I selected this on an item I bought which i never received, they still insisted i had to pay for it! Literally against consumer laws! Useless customer service as well.

Serious bait and switch to trick you to…
Serious bait and switch to trick you to ordering the card. I was given an option on Reverb.com to buy a guitar amp with paypal credit and have 0% if I pay it in 3 months. I went ahead, qualified, went to check out AND REVERB DIDN'T ACCEPT THE OPTION TO PAY. This morning the credit card arrived in the mail. I'm a sucker. How is that legal? To give you the option to pay with that offer IN CHECKOUT?
Used to be trusty...trash now.
I used to use paypal credit all the time. First they raised the minimum from $99 to $149. That was enough to lessen my use for common things. Then recently, they turned the online version into an actual credit card. When they did that, they changed my due date, and made no special mention of it. I paid it because the time on phone call to argue with a cubicle clown is worth more than the $29. But that payment will be my last unless the 'world is ending' & I absolutely need this card. SYNCHRONY BANK SUCKS!! I have canceled two different cards in the past with various issues from them. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU! Remember that the profit is their only thought, and will not help you if you have a life emergency or even just a first time late fee waived for good customer relations. Nope. These people are ticks. The other two cards I had issues with were a Verizon Visa, and a JCPenny card, fyi.
Paypal is synchrony bank and they rip…
Paypal is synchrony bank and they rip you off. They give you high credit limits. Then you use their services and you make the payments on time even over minimum they sneak attack you . They start lowering your credit limit big time one by one affecting your credit scores big time. If one company really deserves to have bankruptcy filed against them it is them. They are a rip off cons job
Paypal Credit customer of 20 years plus…
Paypal Credit customer of 20 years plus In the past couple of years the customer services and management are the most unhelpful and uncaring team I have ever dealt with. Paypal credit simply don't know how to deal with an escalation or if a particular problem is outside of a basic level. On four occasions the staff on calls just cut me off during calls for no reason at all which i put down to lack of basic training. I've been on the phones for hours at a time and im exhausted explaining my frustration. They do not listen or read the documents in front of their eyes. I have a disputed case on grounds of goods not received and for 4 weeks now they have acted unprofessionally throughout. They just dont seem to possess basic common knowledge. I can see why they score 1.3 star overall. I had to give up on them completely as they are impossible to deal with. Won't use paypal credit ever again.
Great service
Great service never had any issues with them and you can buy things and pay later highly recommended
Never again
Never again ! Ombusdmen are now involved ! Nightmare
PayPal stole My money
PayPal’s current policies are completely out of touch with modern banking. They are currently holding my funds hostage with no transparency. It feels less like a financial service and more like my money has been stolen. I’ve reached my limit with this platform and will be moving my business elsewhere. Avoid if you actually want access to your own money.
Avoid
Avoid. I cancelled a purchase with a merchant a week ago, and the pending charge still hasn’t dropped after 5 business days. Synchrony and the merchant all says everything is cancelled on their end, so it is paypal doing who knows what. Also, I don’t know it this is on paypal or Synchrony, but I had made some purchases where the APR is free for the first 6 months. I paid most of them off before interest started, but also paid some interest, so they made money off of me. Then, I paid $1,000 off. They held the line of credit in limbo not updating my payment for 2 weeks or more, and then, instead of reflecting the payment, they just slashed my available credit by $1,000. Super shady, do not recommend, they will hurt your credit card score.
Their representatives are rude
Their representatives are rude! I have a great great credit card score but they stopped authorizing my purchases even that I paid the card off in full. Stay away from it.
I am not allowed to pay of my promotion…
I am not allowed to pay of my promotion offer. I get told I have to wait another week till the offer runs out. So I get slapped with higher rates. I was very pushing over the telephone, but refused more then once I cannot pay. So my offer runs out on the 21st this month. I get told I can't pay. So PayPal gains more money from interest!!!!
A Billing Agreement Is Not the Same as Informed Consent
This review concerns PayPal’s handling of recurring subscription disputes.
Two consecutive payments of £49.90 were processed by a third-party merchant under a PayPal billing agreement. I did not knowingly subscribe to the service, did not access or use it, and did not receive renewal notifications prior to either charge.
PayPal declined both disputes on the basis that the transactions were “processed correctly.”
However, under UK consumer protection principles, the existence of a billing mandate is not, in itself, conclusive evidence of informed consent to a recurring financial commitment. Clear pre-contract disclosure of pricing, transparency of renewal terms, and appropriate notification prior to subsequent charges are fundamental elements of fair subscription practice.
In situations involving recurring digital services, a substantive review should reasonably consider:
Whether the recurring £49.90 charge was prominently and transparently disclosed prior to authorisation.
Whether renewal reminders were issued before each billing cycle.
Whether there is evidence of account creation or actual service use.
Whether the consent mechanism met standards of fairness and clarity expected under UK consumer law.
A payment being technically “processed correctly” does not resolve these questions.
Payment platforms play a central role in the digital subscription economy. With that role comes a responsibility to ensure that automation does not override fairness, particularly where a consumer disputes knowledge of subscription and reports non-use.
I am now pursuing PayPal’s formal complaints procedure and will escalate to the Financial Ombudsman Service (UK) if required.
This is not solely about the monetary value. It is about whether consumer protection is assessed substantively or merely procedurally.
I would give them 0 stars
I would give them 0 stars if it was possible. The app will not add my bank in order to make payments. They linked my savings account somehow and then the auto pay stopped working. I got charged a late fee and then the account was canceled. I used their chat to try to get it fixed but whoever is monitoring that clearly can't read English. Of course their security protocols don't allow for screenshots and there's no way to reference the fake number they give you at the beginning of the chat. I asked for a copy of my last interaction to be emailed and they said they don't have access to email....right. Just as bad is the program itself. I have not been able to access my payment or transaction history since I got it and every time you click on any portion of the website and want to go back, it exits you out of the window. I would not ever use or recommend paypal credit to anyone I cared about, ever. Shut the program down and refund all the customers.
Bereavement service appalling delays
Bereavement service appalling delays: Our interactions with Paypal Credit have been while helping to sort things out after a death in the family. We sent the paperwork and notified Paypal Credit of our loss a month after the event. We then resent paperwork three months later twice and are now calling Paypal Credit daily. The call handler always advises us that the bereavement team will resolve the issue and send us an email containing the requested information by the end of the day. They never do. We've also filled out a complaints form with no response within the 5 working days. We just want to pay off the debt and distribute the estate. I could not be more appalled by how we have been treated at what has been a very difficult time for the family.

I was charged over $70 US for a once of changing a pdf file to jpg. Paypal failed to retrieve my money after phone calls and on line approaches!
I am elderly and vulnerable!
Fortunately my bank recognised fraud when they saw it and retrieved my money!
Dealt wit paypal forr years BUT no longer!!!!
Paying for items never shipped or completed
Once my balance (including purchases that were cancelled or refunded) are cleared, I will never use this piss poor credit service again. I have now two examples of potential purchases that were cancelled by myself and items were never shipped and PayPal STILL expect me to pay off the balance. The app is total rubbish and balances don’t reflect what has actually been completed
free credit hoax
I was offered a credit line of some £3,000 "interest free" - I thought that was great, I use PayPal in any case & this looked like a way to save money- I did not notice the small print which was "free credit on purchases over £99"- its a bit of chicanery, or better deceit- AVOID
Customer service NONE EXISTENT
Multiple failed payments to my credit account without explanation from their team forced me out of my 0% interest period. Still been unable to pay off my balance even though I've had the money just sitting there ready to settle this since NOVEMBER 2025 but now I'm accumulating interest on what would have been a cleared debt. Team do not reply to messages, AI bot refuses to give customer service info
Do not recommend PayPal Credit
I am leaving this review specifically about PayPal Credit, not PayPal as a whole.
I have been a very long-term and otherwise very satisfied PayPal customer, and I would rate most of PayPal’s services 5/5. Unfortunately, my experience with PayPal Credit has been so poor that I feel a warning to other customers is necessary.
I used PayPal Credit when purchasing an Apple product on an instalment plan. At checkout, the available providers were either another bank I did not already have an account with, or PayPal Credit. Because I had always trusted PayPal, I chose PayPal Credit, assuming it would be reliable and transparent. That assumption turned out to be wrong.
Within just a few months, I experienced multiple issues:
• On one occasion, two payments were taken in the same month instead of one.
• Despite providing my bank details at the time of purchase (and PayPal already holding my payment details), a payment was missed due to PayPal’s own processing issue, without clear or timely notification.
• I was then charged a missed payment fee, contacted by PayPal and asked to call them, only to be told during the call that the issue would be corrected and no charge applied.
• Despite this reassurance, the amount was later added back onto my balance, increasing my instalments by £12 without clear explanation.
• After several calls, I was told this was “one-off” and would be corrected — yet the amount was still taken overall, leaving me uncertain whether it had also affected my credit reporting.
What makes this particularly concerning is the lack of transparency and documentation:
• I was never provided with a clear, formal credit agreement or instalment plan showing total cost, interest, and monthly breakdown.
• The balance shown for the product purchase does not clearly match the PayPal Credit balance, and there is no clear explanation or breakdown to reconcile the difference.
• If I needed to dispute this or go to the ombudsman, I would struggle to evidence what was actually agreed, because the information simply isn’t clearly recorded or accessible.
Overall, PayPal Credit feels poorly designed, poorly documented, and poorly supported, especially compared to other PayPal services. The customer service experience was also disappointing, with explanations that were unclear and at times dismissive.
Had I known this in advance, I would have used an alternative provider, which I have found far more transparent and reliable.
Until PayPal significantly improves PayPal Credit, I would strongly advise customers to avoid it, if there is an alternative.
PayPal Credit Allows Fraudsters to Take…
PayPal Credit Allows Fraudsters to Take Advantage! Effective 1/20/2026: Case still shows Pending Status - David noted my summarized dispute: I am not paying the $149 to Nerd Expert for being defrauded. The past due amount is still marked as pending since November 27, 2025, when PayPal closed the dispute in their favor. PayPal is allowing this company to defraud me and is making it clear that this is acceptable. PayPal Credit removed the late fee earlier this month because the disputed claim is still pending. Nerd Experts is not affiliated with HP.com. My computer crashed - I purchased a new one (HP). I called HP Customer Support using the number in my paperwork from the box to get assistance with setting up my printer. The same thing happened - as soon as I gave them remote access, they tampered with my new computer. That individual had the nerve to say, "Oh no! Your computer is all messed up. Who helped you set it up?" I informed him it was brand new and all I did was follow the prompts. Then I confronted him and he hung up. I reset that computer and returned it to the store where I bought it from. On Black Friday, I purchased a different brand computer. I will end my 17+ year relationship with PayPal due to PPCredit lack of finding a resolution when I have provided them the FACTS. You are free to close my PPC account. I no longer trust doing business with any company that engages in bad business practices! I think they are all in this together.
Unavailable Paypal card for payment all the time no one in Paypal understand the issue
I always face issue with paying from paypal credit card using paypal.com and guess what no one, really no one in paypal support team able to help me. Its been close to 1 month now, they never ever open a service ticket, they only transfer the call from one person to another or one department to another. They never takes blaim. They do not have any way to see what user is seeing on his account. Their support team is fragmented, so any technical issue they never figure out, your money is at risk all the time with Paypal.
If they can't even figure out the issue of why Paypal Credit card do not work on Paypal.com what else you can trust them for?
Issue I face is - My papal credit card shows in wallet section of paypal, but at the time of payment, it just disappear and goes into 'Unavailable payment' method. I informed that to paypal support team, they say they do not see any issue from paypal website, so they transfer to Synchorny bank, bank says they do not see any issue with card so they transfer to paypal website, it keeps on going in one department to another for hours and hours but no one able to figure out the issue also they do not even ready to log in that as a issue.
Such a worst customer service Paypal has.
I have spend many days and many hours talking with customer service, I have several recording of their calls but there isn't any way I can upload it here.
