I would not advise using Redwood…
I would not advise using Redwood Collections for the following reasons;
Redwood collections have extremely rude staff with a lack of customer service
A constant turn over of staff, so you have no idea who is your account manager
If your debt has been paid but the commission was not (by the debtor) they will quite quickly turn it back on to you, it would be more appropriate to use that energy for the original debtor rather than their client.
Any Debt collector recommendations welcome

We tasked Redwood Collections to do … not alot!
We tasked Redwood Collections to undertake Debt recovery on our behalf. We had initially very good service but quickly this went wrong. They are quite happy invoicing for work giving all manner of advice but it has become evident they have no real intention of doing the correct actions from the outset. You raise a complaint or gets a half arsed answer, challenge points they either don’t respond or their staff are rude on the phone or don’t reply to emails…
They want to be seen to provide a good service but reality is it is appalling service from this company. Quite frankly I wish I avoided using them. Shane the regulators are unable t help resolve any complaints!
Avoid at all cost… literally!

AVOID THIS COMPANY!
I used Redwood Collections for over a year to recover a debt of around £6,600, and overall, I was very dissatisfied with their service. Communication was poor from the start—updates were infrequent and usually only came after I chased them. I often had to ask for progress reports or clarification, and there were long periods where I heard nothing unless I reached out first.
Their actual efforts to recover the debt were minimal. After a couple of site visits and some phone calls, they quickly put the case on hold or threatened to close it unless I could provide more information. In fact, I was the one who had to find and supply key details, such as the debtor’s new company name and address, and even property ownership information. I expected a professional debt collection agency to do this kind of investigative work, not rely on me as the client.
When I managed to recover some payments myself, Redwood still charged me commission on those amounts, even though they had no involvement in securing them. There was no clear explanation or breakdown of their fees, and when I questioned extra charges, I never got a straightforward answer. It felt like I was being charged for very little actual work.
Despite their initial promises that they could recover my money, Redwood did not recover a single penny from the debtor. Their approach felt passive and unprofessional, with little persistence or creative problem-solving. In the end, I did more to chase the debt than they did, and I was left feeling frustrated and out of pocket.
I would not recommend Redwood Collections to anyone looking for a proactive, transparent, or effective debt recovery service. My experience was one of poor communication, minimal effort, and a lack of results. AVOID!!!

Would not use this company again. It cost us almost the same amount in legal fees as the outstanding debt and we are still waiting on the client paying us. The communication with the legal department was very slow and we had to chase them a few times for updates.

Increased my debt from £4,000 to £8,000
Over-promised on their ability to recover a £4,000 debt. Recovered nothing at all, but incurred charges in excess of the original debt and then had the cheek to take me to court to recover the monies from me. CCJ was then issued against me, but they won't be getting a penny as they didn't achieve anything! So my £4,000 debt is now in excess of £8,000.
Nice work Redwood!
